Here are the Jacks compared to some other miniatures from other sports games.

If you are ever in Ft. Worth, PM me for a game or two, I also play other sports/miniature boardgames!

Note that is comparing the older metal sculpts with the Grind models. They are identical (though slightly less detailed) to the newer plastic kits, however.

When Valander says "slightly" here, he really means SLIGHTLY. I had fun at TempleCon asking my opponents to pick the Grind jack from among my many plastic heavies. The difference will be a little more noticeable in the light jacks, though, because while they are the same size, the Blue Runners' legs are slightly more bent than those of the regular Charger chassis, making the Grind version appear a little bit shorter.

Yeah, I'm sure painted up, or even just primed, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in the heavies, especially at table-distance.

Now if only they'd get a Cryx-like team for the new Grind...

I just wished players would buy Grind to play Grind instead of just looking for a cheap way to get Jacks. If Grind doesn't catch on then PP will not make expansions and Grind will be discontinued.

But that is how it goes.

Well, I bought it to play it, and have a couple of times. I just think it'd be cool to have stuff doing double-duty is all.

Double duty is great, I just need to get my local into Grind. I keep hearing some of my fellows asking about it but no bites yet, though I have gotten the question about if they would make a good cheap way to buy Jacks.

I think I need to designate myself a commissioner and start doing demos. But during League time is bad.

I bought Grind to give it a try because it was half-price on Ebay. I played half a game and it was kind of fun, but not so much fun I could see myself playing it instead of Warmachine/Hordes in my limited amount of gaming time. Only then did I cannibalize the models, which worked out well because I play both Cygnar AND Khador.

I would play grind if I didn't need to buy the whole box for it - the original with standard Warmachine miniatures was much more fun IMO.

I think grind would be awesome if they just gave more team options, instead of just khador and cygnar.
    Ya, I'm from El Paso.

Do you? Based on what I saw in the demos on PP's site (I don't own a copy of Grind), a set of normal jacks, a printed photocopy of the board, and some dice should basically let you play Grind without buying the whole box.

The biggest hassle would be working out a mapping between the set of possible Grind jacks and the set of actually available Faction jacks (Khador would probably be hardest here, due to their lack of lights).

Given how cheaply you can pick up the Grind box during the 10th Anniversary sale, I see no reason to not buy the full box.
