Default 2009 Wm/h Resolutions, What do YOU plan to do in '10...?

As the clock nears midnight, it is time to reflect on the passing year and the one upcoming. And during this time, I reflect on what I resolve to do in 2010 as far as WM/H is concerned:

    ? Earn PressGanger status

? Organize one 'big' event per month at my LGS

? Play 20+ games (as 2009 held a total of 0 games for me... )

? Play in this years CTA League (if PP has one like in years past)

    ? Attend WARMACHINE Weekend 2010

? Bring the ThrallHarvest 2010 trophy to Oklahoma City

    ? Fully Painted

What do you resolve to do with WM/H this year? Post here, and we can all check back on Dec. 31, 2010 to see how sucessful we were...

I only have one resolution (related to WM/hordes):

Paint more models than I purchase.

To crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and hear the lamentation of their women.

    1. This past year I successfully completed 52 minis in 52 weeks. I am gonna try to do that again.

    2. Play more. I only got a small handful of games in this year, and it was unacceptable. I would like to get some more time at a tabletop, but some of it will undoubtedly be vassal games (and that's ok too).

    2. Finish painting my Cygnar (Only about 20 there)
    3. Get more games in, maybe find a tourney or two to hit.

Keep painting, and play a ton. Sounds simple enough.

Paint....lots....and lots....well. Maybe shoot for a fully painted Cygnar in 24 months....

Can you have a new years resolution that takes 2 years or more?

Buy the new faction decks, buy at least 2-3 of the faction books (the Cygnar one has me interested thanks to Doug mentioning some Retribution info in there).

Play lots of Warmachine. Happily anticipate the (probable) 2011 book.

I feel peer pressure to make a resolution about painting, but I know it's not going to happen.

How about this one: do well enough at my job to earn enough money one day to pay some poor slob to paint all the bare metal I routinely throw on the table top.

    Seems do-able.

    Retain players at the FLGS.

    Support other PGer events.

Keep updating the Warmachine/Hordes stuff on the Dakka Dakka wiki.

Continue my plan to expand all my armies:

    Warcaster/Warlock
    Warbeast
    Unit/Attachments
    Solo

It's a "not that expensive" way to upgrade my armies (I wouldn't call it inexpensive).

Finish painting my every growing Skorne army. Play more games and I plan on putting together a Pirate and a Retribution army.

    Purchase/paint/play:

    2x Chain Guns
    2x Cyclones
    10x Longguners with UA
    Kara Sloan

Why? Because Suppressing fire is the new Smoke template.

Settle on a unified colorscheme for my menoth, and be able to field 35 points that looks like a cohesive force.

    Right now I have:

    • Sevvy in gloopy, thick, terrible white/gold/silver/red/orange. My first model, ever.
    • Unit + UA of Flameguard in white and bright red (terribly painted, didn't know you could dilute them at the time. I was a nub)
    • A devout in light blue-grey and silver. Paint is flaking off due to improper priming and varnishing. My first jack ever.
    • Castigator in dark red and orange, with a crooked freehand menofix on his hull.
    • Kreoss in Brass, Copper (he looks like a new penny), silver, dark red, and white.
    • Seneschal in a 1:1 mix of gold and silver, with liberally applied ink. (I actually like this one. But it only really looks decent on the KE, and a whole army of those would look bland in this scheme.)
    • Zealots in a rainbow of colors on their shirts, with matching green berets, grey pants, and dark blue-grey sashes and masks. One is throwing a pokeball.
    • Reznik + Battlegroup in dark blue-grey, with gunmetal metals (and some dark gold accents to break up the gunmetal), and deep shading. Dark brown leather/cloth.
    • A second Seneschal in a test scheme of dark gray with orange on some parts of the armor, gunmetal swords, etc. Matches Reznik's group and the Zealots well enough, but the orange sticks out a bit. Will probably make it a bit paler.

Right now I'm thinking Vallejo Sombre Grey, highlighted with a mix of it and vallejo wolf grey as the main unifying theme for my force. Right now I have it used on:

    • Max zealots (though only as a minor color. Each one is otherwise pretty much unique. It still ties them in enough for my purposes, though.)
    • Reznik
    • Redeemer
    • Revenger
    • Crusader
    • Seneschal (Modified examplar scheme)

However, I want my Examplars to stand out from the rest, so I'm propably going to replace the browns with a softer orange, (GW Foundation Macharius Solar Orange, mixed with GW Foundation Dheneb stone) as the orange on my test Senny is a bit too bright for my taste.

Also, ten bucks says I wind up with another scheme by the time I get around to painting up a few more units.

I am planning to start a new army. Khador, Strakhov, assault kommandos, marauders, decimators, widowmakers. Hopefully it won't take me too long to collect and paint it so I can actually play it this year.

Well, ive already lost my first game of the year!

So, i suppose a good resolution is to get my revenge.

I think my resolution will be 52 games in 52 weeks. That should give me lots of practice

My goal is to not only teach people at my job to play, but get all of my battlegroups painted that is 10 WM and 2-3 hordes groups. Good news with that is, all my jacks and beasts for 4 factions will be done. Then comes the PBI and solos

At first I thought - 'you shoulrdnt repaint your first models as you will:
    a) spend forever going over your old stuff in a cycle for eternity
    b) Not see the improvements in your own painting skills'

But after reading through your list of stuff ie' Zealots in a rainbow of colors on their shirts' I definatley agree with repainting your stuff

    My own resolution:

learn how to blend paints, and become reasonibly competative in tournemants so as not to come last!

1, buy the new cygnar stuff and paint it to have an "all inclusive fully painted cygnar" (at the moment: fully painted but 10 mins) - kara and the new stormsmith being priority #1 and #2.
2, get at least three plastic jack boxes (2x heavy, 1x light as i own most light jacks at least twice.
3, expand my new searforge army and get them to "fully painted"-status
    4, do more conversions
5, play as many games as in 2009 (around 35, i guess...)

    Buy all the Mk2 books
    Improve my painting 'skills'
    Play more games
Get better at playing said games
Help my little brother out with his army, both collecting and playing.

Paint up my Skorne cyclops army.

And maybe win a tournament or two.
