    Default Khador Test Model

Wanted to get some feedback on my Khador test model. Please let me know your thoughts. I wanted something different, I went with flames even though Khador generally goes with red and ice. The base works not done yet, but it gives a general idea before I keep going on details.

It looks very similar to the 3rd edition Salamander Space Marines' colour scheme. Not a critique! Just observing.

Personally, I'd limit the amount of "flame" to maybe the shoulders and the knee guards so it doesn't become too overpowering and compete with the lines of the sculpt. Other than that, the flames are nicely painted and I do really like the different texture on the head. It stands out without being out of place.

I like the contrasting colors and the way you painted the flames is very well done. Very unique and looks good.

I had a last edition Salamanders army, that is definitely where I drew inspiration from. Very keen eye. I do agree, I like the flames, but its a hard call not to go over kill so i'll have to try to dim it down a bit in the future. Butchers going to be the hardest, I may only flame up 1 shoulder pad and 1 side of his armor, a small model could definitely get cluttered very quickly

I like it. I agree with Kiff that a little bit less flame would make the accents stand out and the model less busy, but I don't think this one's quite overboard.

It's hard to tell from the low-res photos you posted, but it looks like you might've layered your dark red over your green. That looks fine, but you could get some serious dramatic contrast by first blending the green down to a really dark blue-black in the areas that're going to have flames, then painting the red-orange-yellow over that. More work, but might be worth the effort.

That is cool. I too would like a bigger pic (not necessarily closer, just larger)

Ferox~ I will give that a shot on the Butcher as I want him to really pop. I get what your saying about blending down and I hadn't even though to do it. Flames were built up from red to orange to yellow, then white, with 50-50 mixes in between. I think i'll adjust it now that I have a plan. Blending down idea makes complete sense to get the pop i'm looking for.
