Grave Door and Calaban's Feat

This was asked in the rules forum and never answered, I was wondering if there was a consensus reached among minion players.

When the grave door(ed) model gets destroyed at the end of the turn, does Calaban get a fury and an extra spell? Just a fury? Nada because it's an effect of the spell that kills model and not Calaban?

How have you guys been playing it? The question in the rules forum was asked way way back so I don't want to resurrect it, but it seems it's unlikely to get perused by one of our purple overlords at this juncture... so I was just goingt o play it however majority rule sways.

I'd say that you get the fury, but since you declared that it was the end of your turn, you're not going to get to cast a spell.

Keep in mind that I'm not looking at my rule book; I may edit this when I get home.

I agree with Loki, as I have the book in front of me at this very moment. Also, follow the logic chain... The model destroyed by Grave Door is destroyed at the end of the turn, so since your turn has ended, you would not get the last parting shot. But you would still get the fury.

Also, speaking of editing, you hit the "go advanced" button and change the title...

The question here though, is does Calaban count as the destroying model. I don't see why not, but a local retribution player disagrees.

Well... Calaban hit the model, but that hit didn't kill him. Grave door is now an effect on a model that is still alive. At the end of the turn that model dies from the effect on him so I would have to agree that it is not Calaban who kills him but rather the effect of a status that he is inflicted with. Think of it this way... if you were playing a 2 caster game and Calaban hit someone with Grave Door and then walked past an enemy model taking a free strike and dying... the model hit by Grave Door would indeed still die at the end of your turn.
