Seeing as we've had quite a few tournament reports put up now, i thought it might be a good idea to collect them all in one place to give people easy access. At the moment they're kind of spread out between the Battle Reports sub-forum and the Protectorate of Menoth List Discussion sub-forum. If think the best way to do this is for people to post links to reports that they think are worth people reading (either their own report or someone else's). Please link all tournament reports, as i think these are always worth having a look through even if the player posting the report didn't win. The reports don't even need to be hosted on this site, i know quite a few Brits post their reports on TWF and i'm sure there's good ones on RankingsHQ and the national wargaming forums. I'll then put the link in the index, which will be in the first post (or two if needed). I'll split the index between tournament reports, casual reports and list discussion reports, and put them in alphabetical order by the report author's name, that way people can find what they're looking for easily.Also, i think this is probably worth stickying, but i'll leave the decision up to the community and mods. And, if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to let me know. Many heads are better than one and all that .

Erm.. i'd guess either PM a mod or, more likely, post in this thread to get it stickied. I'm pretty sure the mods check out all threads so they'll see it.

Edit: on second thoughts. don't PM a mod. I don't want Josh getting angry with mah for filling up his inbox .

I might start writing up some battle reports myself to contribute to this thread but I'm not sure. I've steered away from them in the past because I feel like they're just self indulgent unless they're contributing something that people can learn from or unless I'm asking for advice myself.

@marius: I was wrecked after that weekend and after that I tottaly forgot about my on tournament blog:P well its to late for batreps but i ended i though on 24th place. nice considering i losst my first 2 games and was placed last in the ranking at that moment.
still feeling stupid though abot my list choice against you * damn you covenant*.
here a list of my battles and their results:

1: Menoth pkreoss vs menoth (p or e)Feora ( marius) lost- because of choosing pKreoss against an all covenant list holding player. ( good morning !!!)
2: cygnar: Cygnar ( forget the caster) lost- Harby was shot by a defender, she was just an quarter of an inch in range!! after the battle we came to the conclusion that if this didnt happen i would have swept over his army destroying everything in its path ( really!)
3: trollbloods ( doomshaper) won- just overwhelmed him with my eKreoss infantry spam. and killed almost everything he had before going for the "easy" casterkill

4: cryx asphy (won with harby): turn 2 avatar charges with the needed crusaders call banethralls and goes berserk on them (30" form my table edge at that moment) popped my feat to block him from advancing. turn 3 avatar rolls 4 focus and tramples to asphy and one shots him. I lost NOTHING, he lost almost everything in his army. but he wasnt a bad player or so. this battle costed no more then 15 min. alas fastest caster kill was recorded on 10 min or so.
5: cygnar haley, won on scenario (ekreoss): countered her feat quite well by going defensive when he told my activation order- eventally after a very very tough battle i got my last objective and won. just barely.
6: merc searforge ( pKreoss): very tough battle, and when it went bad for me I was saved by dice down and him not getting to pkreoss who was running for his life, draw.

I'm attending a 2 x 50 Steamroller, 2011 tournament this weekend.

Now I'm wondering if "List Development Reports" would include attempts to polish non-competitive lists... XD

Someday I'll get an awesome battle report worth posting done. I'm still kicking myself for never reporting on that eKreoss vs. Strakhov battle. :3

I don't see why not. I did want to put the emphasis on tournament reports and when i originally thought about this thread, i was just going to have a Tournament Reports and List Development Reports. However, i decided to include Casual Reports as well and leave it up to the reader to decide if they are interested in reading them. After all, while i might not be that bothered about Casual Reports and intend this to be mainly a resource for competitive players, there's plenty of people who are less competitive but might be just as interested in reading battle reports about campaigns, home made scenarios, games with story lines etc.

So, i decided to include all battle reports in here (as long as people gave me the links first, i'm not about to trawl through the various forums finding them all!). As long as it's clearly labeled as to whether it's competitive or casual so that people can decide without having to click through all the links, then i think it's fine and both sides should be happy (i hope ).

List Development straddles both competitive and casual play, so at the moment i haven't split it up. As we get more List Development in the future i may split it up based on feedback and the type of List Development reports that we get. Honestly though, i'd rather it stayed as just one category, at least for the moment. After all, if you come up with some sweet combos while list building in casual play, there's no reason a competitive player can't read about it and apply it to their tournament lists and vice versa. In other words, i don't think the gap between competitive list building and casual list building is as big as the gap between competitive play and casual play.
