Wow, I really dig this army, such smooth paint-work. If you hadn't told us they were dipped I don't think anyone would have ever known. Were the 5th border legion ones dipped too, or just the white section of the army?

Beautiful beautiful models. You, sir, are an inspiration to me!
I have 17 MoW's to paint. I think i might do them White!!!!
......Speechless.
Well, I always loved this army and its cool to see it again.
Please feel free not to bring it or something as good to the masters this year to give the rest of us a chance.
The level of painting on the face of the ladyhunter is just phenominal.
Looking forward to more.
Cheers.
Jon.
Wow! Beautiful army, best vlad I've seen.
I may bring it to the Masters Jon, may not. Depends on how much more of it I get painted really
As I say, add Yuri and it's a brilliant fun 35pts, and to get it up to 50pts I have a Jugger, Doomreavers and a second Manhunter to do, all of which are ready to get painted, so we'll see what happens.
My second list would be a simple matter of swapping eButcher for pButcher.
Mercykiller, no dips used on the 5th stuff, just blended hilights and shades.
But, time is not being kind to me and I haven't done much of anything for 3 months now, which makes me sad![]()
I remember thinking, when you first posted your stuff, how great it all looked (this was the white Khador). I can say without reservation that the new stuff is even better. The butcher in particular is awesome.
...but what is "*****machine"?
Heh, word filter don't like it
When people run the names HORDES and WARMACHINE together and call it Hormachine, a fair few of us in the UK started spelling it with a 'w' at the begining and an 'e' in the middle.
Honestly, i love your work. You do such a great paint work with my most favourite color scheme for Khador. I wish i could only do half as good as you, sadly i am more a player then a painter. getting myself to paint is a story of itself.
After looking through everything I'm pretty sure I hate you.
Consider yourself added to my personal list of painters who make painting not fun for the rest of us.
Kidding aside, awesome!
One tiny complaint about the female manhunter. Why did you put eye make-up on her? Just seems out of place.
Looking forward to more of your stuff.

Very nice work - really love the clean finish to everything, and I apprecaite the white tutorial
How did you do the snow effects on the Border Legion bases???
It's a mix of 2 flocks.
I had some from years back that was to fine, then got given a pot of GW white flock to try when that came out, which is too coarse. Mix the 2 together and hey presto.
Bases are painted and flocked normally, then white paint is blobbed on where the snow will go (gives a bit of solid white for depth).
Then PVA glue, white paint and water, and apply flock ontop.
Then brown ink around the edges, which soak in a bit and looks bleedin' horrid.
When that's all dry, add a couple of layers of PVA and water (no paint) with flock ontop. Gives a nice depth and that is what gives the dirty, melted look to the edges.
I do the bases after gloss varnish but before paint on matte.
The bases get soaked in very dilute matte varnish, which seals the snow and gives it a crispy, thawing snow look.
A question on your whites: how do you get them so smooth? Is it a result of painting on the varnish itself after it dries? I know you don't use a wet pallete, from the other thread, so I'm curious as to how you get them so not-chalky.
Just consistency of paint.
I use Foundry paint which is the same basic recipe as P3, and use it thin, so it's just a case of layering up and taking your time.
On the white, I kept revisiting each area and adding succesive layers to get it the way I wanted; smooth and opaque.
::JAWDROP::
I've seen white Khador before, but this TAKES THE CAKE. I do have to say too, darn you for making me want to dabble in them again. Just when I think I've finally severed the ties to Khador, someone like you paints up a mind-blowing army and makes me rethink my stance of the 'ole Khards.
I really have to save this post and some of your images too... it's too amazing to let slip by.

I'm really not usually a fan of Khador work (must be an inherent bias against you pinko bastards), but this is utterly fantastic.
If I were wearing a hat, it would be off to you.
I'm going to have to start thinning my layers a lot more.
What do you use to thin your paints? Distilled water, matte medium, etc.?
Drool!
Stunning work.
I love the crisp and clean look. Much more so than all the "really real" battledamage and mud stained look (that too often is just there to cover up crappy paintjobs).
I swear on my guinea pigs life that if my lotto numbers come up, you shall become my paint slave.
Blasphemy! Warmachine armies do not wear uniforms that blend into their natural environment! Camouflage is so not Page 5!
The only thing I miss is the blue on the ice hammers of the shock troops. I think it would really stand out on the white and look awesome. Still great work though. Jealous.
Just caught this thread, and I have to say that you do fantastic work! I especially love the skin tones on your models, they work very, very well.
Ye gods, that is amazing stuff. It just pops beautifully. You've single handedly prodded me back into painting.
Love the 5th insignias on the jacks. Did you make a mold or something to get them so uniform?
Wow wow wow!
I love the rich colors!
Amazing painting you have there, mate. White is my bane. Hence, I chose The Retribution.
Very inspiring.
The white is crisp. It has a very storm/clone trooper vibe...
The 5th scheme is also well done, and has always been one of my fav Khador schemes.
Nice basing also.
Odd, I don't see any images. All the raving is making me epic curious.
You may need to right click and 'show image' depending on your browser or cookie settings/firewall.
Easier said than done; there's nothing to right click on. Just three lines of blank space between one line of text and another. I know they exist, because I can view the page sources and all the image locations are listed in there, but they aren't anywhere to be found in the thread.
