Default I cut myself on paint!

yep, this has got to be my most epic fail EVER. I put my hand down quickly on my painting desk and apparently some bit of chipped paint was aimed upward at such a perfect angle that when it hit the soft skin in a joint on my finger, it punctured @_@. There's even a lil red spot where blood clotted to seal it. so ya. paint. dangerous. >_>

Didn't bleed out any, just a bit under the surface.

No good, it ends up being too thin and it dries kind of chunky. It can work for 'gore effects' though...

...not that I've ever bled someone out to try this. Not even when I played Cryx.

If your strategy relies on two 50/50 chances both succeeding you're going to fail three quarters of the time.

Wow. That is epic. It makes me wonder how you fare having sharp hobby knives, sprue cutters and drills lying about.

On the other subject- I once found a painting article that recommended buying pig or cow's blood from the butcher shop for painting dried blood. I can't imagine it is necessary, though.

I imagine it would be vital if you want that really authentic smell and to have your models covered in flies. Otherwise you'd probably be better off replicating the effect with...paint.

I hate it when gluing a model sometimes it takes my skin with it. "HEY! wait till I paint the skin on you!"

    Any Excuse will do...

This has always been a dangerous art. Never underestimate the toll our painting gods will take from us. One drop at a time.

I've lost count of the figmata (miniature-related injuries) that I've suffered over the last 25 years of doing this hobby. I do know, however, that the Painting and Modelling Gods do expect routine sacrifices...

I've told people I put blood, sweat, and tears into paintjobs before. It's not my fault they think that's a joke...

I cut myself trimming up some Games Workshop Khorne Berzerkers for a friend. I figured it was a required offering to the blood god for prepping his soldiers.

So what you're telling me is that the red paint I have in numerous bottles here is really blood?

    That would explain a lot...

For love. For honor. For Devilsquid.
