I was out of town this week. I don't have my calendar handy, but AFAIK, I should be there next weekend. I picked up a merc deck, so I can now add the Magnus and Gorten battleboxes. Once people have a couple of battlebox games under their belt, I thought we could move to 15 or 20 pt games, using proxies (if needed) to start adding units and solos.

Unfortunately, the son and I have a Scout campout this weekend, so I won't be there. I am going to try and drop by some flyers before tomorrow night, with a scheduled "Demo Day" and see if we can get any takers. The "Demo Day" will probably be either the 16th or the 23rd - I just have to check the family calendar to see what is already scheduled for both weekends.

Howdy! A buddy and I are playing more hordes as of late, but seeing as the rules are one in the same, would you guys care to have a couple newbies join the club? Don't know that we could make this Saturday, but maybe the next time you guys get together? Also, we are looking to start working on a 3-player team for Gencon next year, assuming Privateer Press runs the same type of events for the next year.

Anyway, if we get the chance, maybe we'll stop out after I get out of work and say hello. Good to see there is a community in SW Michigan.

BTW, manager of Fanfare is a good friend of mine if the people in the Kalamazoo area would be interested in getting together sometime, I could probably talk him into some weekend table time outside this scheduled setup.

Just a heads up, I'm going to be taking off a bit early from my work today (my last weekend working, yay!) and see about heading over to L&J, maybe bring my mini's, but no guarantees. Either way it would be nice to meet the people in the local scene.

EDIT: Yeah, definitely not bringing Mini's this weekend, girlfriend decided it's clothes shopping day .... but hey, I'm going to stop out anyway and introduce myself.

Last few weeks have been crazy but thats finaly over and plan on droping by today. Hordes or Warmachine I don't mind! I have played plenty against most factions. Will be there around 12-1230.

I was gone this weekend (currently in Chicago), but yeah, Hordes is welcome. I have no problem losing to Hordes as well as to Warmachine. What factions do you play?

I should be there on Thursday again this week (continuing my plan of trying to peel off 40k players and convert them to Warmahordes), as well as Saturday. I also finished painting the Cygnar and Khador battle boxes, so I can submit a press ganger app, so hopefully we can have official events at some point in the future.

Got in a game against Travis last night - he wanted to try a larger game, so I let him try a 35-pt Rahn army. Unfortunately, the only other 35-pt armies I had with me with all Hordes, so he beat up on some Farrow, and put a whole world of hurt on Dr. Arkadius. I was doing well - had taken out the Phoenix and Discordia, but he teked a War Hog into position, force hammered it into Arkadius, and then used his Rifleman to smack a the good doctor, who had no fury on him.

I should be there on Saturday, if anyone else wants to show up, but I don't think there will be space for us on the 13th, since Travis is running a 40k tourney that day.

Take them, just in case. DW has a short-notice business trip, so I have to see if (1) we still have a sitter available (since college has started); and (2) if she can stay until 9:30 or so. If I can get there, I will be there. IIRC, you play Menoth, right? (If so, I can bring the faction deck and a bunch of extra stuff, if you want to proxy for a larger game.)

No big deal warlord. I got a game of 40k and it was fun.

I talked warmachine to a couple of people and there was some interest. One guy played a few games at Gencon and seemed pretty serious.

Talking to Travis and he's having trouble getting warmachine stocked. Apparently he has to make an initial order of some $800 before he can open an account. He's hoping to get some capital soon to make this happen but I guess its been a tough summer. Perhaps if we all pooled in on an order we could defray costs? I have no idea if that's possible or if Travis would be open for it. I guess we have to be patient.

He had a lot of gamers of Thursday. That was good to see. I like seeing a healthy gaming community. I just wish it had more variety.

Oof. $800 is a pretty big order. (Granted, there is substantially more than $800 worth of stuff I want, but I am not really able to buy it all in one go.) There are a couple people on Thursdays that have been interested, so that's a good sign. Are you going to be there on Saturday?

Yeah $800 is too much, we'd probably need a dozen people ordering stuff to make it reasonable and I don't even know if its $800 on anything Travis wants or if its got to be some set stocklist. Oh well, I guess we should be happy we at least have a place to play.

By the way, I stopped in Odyssey a week or so ago. I talked to the owner about warmachine and he was adamant against carrying it. He seemed a little ticked at me mentioning it. He had some sound business reasons but man he was touchy about the subject. Not sure why.

It's mostly because the owner of the Odyssey is a very hardcore Warhammer player and doesn't want anything to do with anything but Warhammer. I've had some business dealings on a much larger scale (like, business to business) so even having that little bit of an "in" as it were, I couldn't get him to budge on it. It's pretty much non-worth it to even mention it to him.

Well, I'll probably be skipping out on tomorrow purely to save a bit of gas, we need to get everyone out there one of these weekends, but it seems our crowd are a bit busy.

Just to note, in case anyone you know is interested.

I will be selling my Warhammer 40k Blood Angels army so that I can delve more into Warmahordes and hopefully be ready for Gencon next year.

I've got about 1850 points and would like to see about getting $200 for the entire deal, which includes both Space Marine and Blood Angels codices. I'll even throw in the Warhammer Fantasy: Battle for Skull Pass miniatures that I've accrued.

If you know anyone that would be interested, just let me know via these forums.

Yeah its tough getting a bunch of guys with family to scratch out time on Saturdays during the summer. I'm optimistic that the fall will be easier, it will at least be easier for me. If we can 8-10 guys who can at least sporadically show up on a given weekend that should at least guarantee a game on any given sat. Once that happens and if Travis can start stocking the stuff I think the game will sell itself. That would be cool. We would finally have wargaming choices in Kzoo.

I am fine with bringing my money to L&J, I like Travis a lot more. I know I do need some stuff...but no where near making a dent in $800.

Maybe if we try to put our orders in at once?

Ok, I went over there this afternoon. (Took my stuff, but I wasn't expecting anyone - just in case, though.) We may have a solution for the PP stuff, and getting it through Travis. He should know by next weekend - if it works out (and it should), we will be able to start ordering stuff from him without a problem.*

I also printed out and gave him a copy of the Journeyman League rules that PP just put out. If enough people are interested, we could do the Journeyman league.

* If you are only ordering one single fig, like a Ghost Sniper or something, it might have to wait until several people have ordered things, so he can put in an order that is more than $10 or so, but since I will be doing my normal purchases through him if it pans out, you probably wouldn't have to wait for long.

All the skull pass mini's, save 3 goblins, are unpainted. As far as the vehicles go, I'd say a good 75% are painted. I can bring them along on a Saturday if you're interested, any money I get from these mini's are most likely going to go straight into upping my Hordes army.

Anyway, next Saturday maybe we can manage something.
