Wed, Fri and Sat are generally bad. Thurs can be a little problematic, depending on when you would want to start. (Actually, depending on when we start, Wed and Sat aren't alays bad, come to think of it.)

I will be bringing an army or two (plus a couple of battlebox forces), but if you want to borrow something, just LMK before Friday night. I would like to start practicing some of the scenarios and conditions from Steamroller 2012, if anyone else is up for it.

We tried practicing timed turns this week - my piggie horde is a little hard to run in a 10 minute turn, but I think I can do it with some practice. I'll try and cut the templates for the SR2012 scenarios this week, so we can start practicing those as well.

We have been playing at L&J Hobbies, and would love to have some more players. Typically, we play on Saturdays, from 1-5. (As a note, we won't be playing on the 31st, because there is a 40k event that will take up all the playing space in the store.)

S'ok. Remember, no gaming this Saturday - Travis has the store stuffed with 40k players, and there will be no room. We have open gaming as usual on the 7th, and there will be a tourney on the 14th. (Current format, while unofficial, is 25 pt Mangled Metal/Tooth-n-Claw, and 16 player max. I will finalize in the next day or two, and post announcements.)

Uses SR2012 v1.3 rules.

ETA - Travis is going to put in an order of WM stuff either later today or first thing tomorrow. Since his stock is still pretty light (he just started carrying the line) - if there is anything you want, drop him a line at 269-323-1010 and he might be able to get it for you for Saturday.

Garsh, I am so out of the loop...

Sadly I won't be able to make it and honestly have only played one game. So I would feel woefully unprepared for any kind of tourny match. Glad to know this is still happening and hope to one day make it back and maybe even be able to play without someone holding my hand through a game.

That being said I would encourage even newer players to show up, if you start with the battle boxes mangled metal is one of the first things most people learn. Along with the low model count and relaxed times you shouldn't be too stressed by the time limits.

Also pondering fielding mercs instead of Khador. Or even my Cryx.

@Proto (and any new players lurking) - MM is a good way to start, and really, I'd encourage people to show up and try to have fun. I will have some models available for loaning as well.

Anyway, we are still playing on Saturdays - I am going to have to miss a couple after this week (travel and family commitments), but I am already looking at the possibility of some 35 pt tourneys in June & July, to help people try out their stuff for GenCon. I have plans, the store has a small (but growing) selection of stock, and I'm hoping to start drawing new players in.

Hey, quick question. Got a friend that is interested in getting into Hordes, Circle to be more specific, and is wondering if you can use a non-epic caster's model to represent the epic version of said caster. (Baldur in this case) Weapons are the same, and so is armor, so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to, and it would go both ways I suppose. What's your thoughts on that one, Garou?

Officially, for a tourney, it won't work, since there is a difference between the two, and it could cause confusion for the other players.* That said - it's fine for casual play, and I do have both versions of Baldur, if your friend wants to try them out at some point. I have a wold army that I was working on for pBaldur, although I do not have Megalith (for some odd reason).

* It's come up elsewhere, for another model. IIRC, it was Hexeris or some other Hordes caster, who doesn't change weapons, and not much differentiates the two versions.

I probably will not be in on a Saturday until mid-May or so. I am leaning toward an event at the end of May, and then 3 in the period from June 1 through GenCon, and then a post-GenCon painting/terrain/hobby day. Details coming soon.
