Default what Mercs need vs. what we want

A lot of times we throw around what we would like to see rather than what we actually need.
One thing we are lacking on are magical weapons. Look at RoS, CRAZY!
We have out casters but, they're limited. Lady & Holt can help along with Midwinter but, that's about it.

kell is great for dealing with wraiths. what we need are ways to ignore stealth besides midwinter.

A way to get rid of upkeeps would be nice, and something to help mitagate damage from continuous effects.

Precursors are another common source of magic attacks for me.

The thing I really, really, want is a human merc jack with P+S greater than 17. This is a huge need that would really benefit all six human casters.

I don't think Orin's void staff is magical now (like the field test), but I'm assuming you're referring to lightning.

We need more stealth. Lotsa guns are coming out of all the foundries, and this may not be a melee game anymore.
Rhulic pathfinders would also be sweet.
    As would DethKlok warcasters!

We already have a good bit of stealth. We don't really need to get rid of upkeeps. We like to make are enemies pay the price for casting them, Harlan for instance.

I think 4* needs more beatstick; either a more damaging unit or a higher PS 'jack. Highborne feels right though.
Note that whatever I say here is but my opinion; if you disagree with anything I have to say, feel free to hit me up for a game on Vassal (which isn't real Warmachine :)). I'm always up for new challenges or to see the game in a different light.

Harlin is the only instance. I kinda meant to get rid of enemy upkeeps on our guys.

While Highborn does have it better due to Forge Guard and Precursors, I'd still really like to see a stronger jack.

I'm surprised that people want mgical weapons. Mercs have easy access with Aiyanna & Holt. Of course with the new contracts Highborn has lots of access to magic weapons with the gun mages.

A warjack with a POW higher than 17 would be very nice. Mercs do have trouble with top end ARM.

Exactly - I was just going to say "Hello? Aiyana & Holt anyone?". We actually have quite a few solos that either cast spells or have magic weaponry, and more than one of our actual casters have arc nodes (both Magnuses and Fiona) or can transform normal attacks into magical ones (Durgan). No, we have magic weapons/attacks covered very nicely, thanks.

Actually a question btw: do ATGM's throw down magical shooting?

EDIT - nevermind, just saw that they do. So yeah that's even more magical firepower.

And technically the Rhulic's don't have any real trouble with high-end ARM thanks to heavy-hitting jacks and easy-to-use buffing spells, but yeah point taken. It would be great to see at least a Pow 18 again somewhere.

Aiyanna and Holt are great until that deviating AoE wipes them from the face of planet. Anything that dies that easily can't be counted on.
I think the reason that we don't have higher damage jacks, is that PP assumes we'll be running Gorman. Most of the armor woes come from warjacks, and rust combos are brutal. I realize Gorman is quite the *****, working for everyone, but Mercs are the only lists where his presence is close to guarasnteed.

It really depends on the contract in question - Highborn has lots of access to magical weapons now for one, but Searforge still has only the warcasters - whose options tend to be expensive and a bit short ranged at that.

either cheap repair or an anti heavy-jack jack for humans.

    Thalion needs a second marshal.

Magnus would like some repair as he has no marshals.

and the Drudges would like to be legal
    & everyone else

    Merc needs:

    Human high power pummel jack
    non-magnus arc-node
    Magic weapons for Rhul
arc-node for Rhul (Grundback Repeater?, Zapper? Disruptor?, Channeller?)
Signature solo's for Magnus, 4*, Highborn

Not totally true any longer. With the Tier list, you can take the Trencher UA - which gives Magnus a marshal

However, I'd still like to see a mechanic that would work for agenda (or just give Magnus a repair ability - which would make a great amount of sense fluff wise).

I would like to see the Commandos work for the Agenda personally.

Yes the Trencher UA is a Jack marshal but don't us it Mag's is better off keeping his Jacks in his Battle group.
EMagnus may find a use for him. I want a mechanic there is the Iron kingdoms RPG model that could fit the bill.

Also don't forget Croe has a Magic weapon.

I still hope we get the Javalin the old Cygnar Jack to go along with the Mule and Nomad. Would be a light with a Arcnode or Cantrip relay.

I would love that since Distraction would be an astoundingly good debuff if it could be arced. However, I just don't think it's going to happen. I also don't think we really need it. The only merc caster who needs to arc by design has Telgesh Mark.

You could put a bucaneer on the trencher UA right ? that jack really only need 1 boost per turn, and kd can help the trenchers' rat5 nail their target.

Yup. The Buccaneer is a nice little jack to marshal. Also good for knocking "screening" jacks and beasts on their butt so you can CRA something squishy behind it.
