Pistol Wraith (my first posted model)

This is the first model I have really done start to finish (and not hated and stripped). Not completely happy with it yet, but I wanted to try and move on, and get at least one painted model out. It took about two evenings to do. Sorry about the lighting, it is adding a bit too much yellow I think. I will try to adjust my set up and take some new photos, but this is my first go at this.

Comments and ego stripping critique is welcome.

Excellent work

Just one small thing i personally would have done...

black lining or shading where elements meet (i.e. arm/sleeve and hand around pistol etc) - this can be achieved very simply by adding a black/dark brown wash into crevase where they meet. This would work well for the crevases between the fingers too.

Love the highlighting and the color choices - would be great to see more work

Mmmm, clean lines. I'm a big fan of the color choices: nothing too flashy, but they compliment each other nicely. Well-executed understatement = win. I'd like to see more highlights on the leathers and more smooth blending/grading on the cloak.

Also, remind me to borrow your camera! Wowzas, those are nice close ups!


PS: you're a dirty liar. I've seen your other dudes which you claim aren't "finished" and they're really good. Base Asphixious and post him next!

I think it looks great! My only suggestion is to drill out the barrels. Hate seeing minis that have plugged up guns.

What caught my eye was the robe/cloak/whatever you call it.

Use ink wash to smoothen the bending. And for the gun t have more details.

Super great pictures too. Are you using a lightbox? Whatever light you are using is great - no harsh shadows to distract the eye from the mini.

Nope, just some well placed desk lamps and some craft paper. Thanks for the comments. I am going to base him, but probably not until I have several other models to base.
