Red face Sunday tourbey 35pts lists- pls help

Im taking part in a tournement this sunday with two 35pts lists- i was wondering if some people on the forums could possibly find the pros and cons of the army (i've seen some of the more obvious ones which i'll mention but im still kinda new to hordes/warmachine so there are still probally a few that i missed ).

    First list
    E-thagy +3
    Typhon -12
    Carnivean -11
    Angelius -9
    Shredder -2
    Shredder -2
    Forsaken -2

    Pros
    1. Lots of beasts work well with E-thag thx to MD and feat.
    2. Quite a bit of power with 3 heavys.
    3. Lots'a sprays for infantry, lots'a hard hiters for beasts/jacks.
    4. I like beasts- i find them easier to use then a lot of infantry and gernerally more fun
    Cons
TOO MUCH FURY!!!- seriously, running a fury 7 warlock with 5 beasts with a total fury of 16! Which means the first few turns im going to have to run them fury low and then on turns were i go all out on boosts well, there will probally be quite a bit of frenzying

    Second list
    Vayl +4
    Typhon -12
    Carnivean -11
    Seraph -8
    protector -5
    Shredder -2
    Shepherd -1

    Pros
    1. Lots of beasts work well with Vayl thx to incite and that the protects animus ireally helps to keep her alive.
    2. 4/5 beasts have good mobility and can be effective at a distance from her which means she just stay back and relax
    3. She could always back strike any of her low def/ high arm beasts with the orcalus to gain some range on her spells (although i think i read some where you can't target friendly models with friendly attacks?)
    4. Yeah lots of beasts

    Cons
1.Pretty much the same as above- too much fury- but i really dont want to give up any beasts for a forsaken/shepherd- they always seem to die first turn so it seems like wasted points.

Well thats both of 'em. I tired to make the lists so that one was better for warmachine and the other for hordes- The first list is meant for warmachine as the hard hitting but rather mobile beasts could possible get the alpha strike or even completely go around some of the slower jacks and go straight for the caster (probally the angelius). The second list was meant for hordes as Vayl has rampager and the seraph for assinations (I find that a few big hits are better against warmachine to get past the boostedshields whilst a lot of small hits helps with hordes (too many transfers to make).

Please and thank you for any comments in advance

In my experience you can never have too much potential fury You opponent will gun for the beasts, so when they go down, you don't want to be cutting for fury, especially with Vayl. It's better to run on the low burner for a while, and then when the opportunity shows itself, go all in, and use your fury management to control the backlash should it not be successful. Some will probably tell you to run hot all the time, but I never play that way. Legion is squishy enough as it is, so pick your battles and make them count.

The biggest con with both lists is a very low model count which is a big detriment in many scenarios. Fortunately you have some good tools in both lists to take care of infantry swarms (spray attacks coupled with MD or Incite are a godsend against that pesky infantry).

I think your lists are pretty interesting. I haven't played the new eThagrosh yet, so I can't comment specifically on that, but you Vayl list looks good to me. I might drop the Protector for a Teraph, since it benefits a little more from Incite, and its animus makes it a good Dark Sentinel (because you get both the Counterblast shot/hit and the DS move and hit, in any order you like), but if you're worried about a lot of knock down effects and slams, bring the Protector!

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Every legion list needs a Seraph

    I disagree

... see? answering in absolutes without any arguments just isn't good rethoric, and especially not good advice. Could you please back up your statement about why it's an auto-include, especially for the lists provided?

Seraph is maybe not greatest beast right now but Legion needs Slipstream.

I run without a Seraph fine. Slipstream is kind of a crutch until you learn to play without it. Then, it becomes deadly when you choose to bring it.

I completely agree with blitzmonkey. You can easily play a great legion list without access to slipstream. Vayl, for example, hardly needs it in her lists, since she herself is so far back, and has the greatest repositioning feat in the game, and Leash, and Dark Sentinel.

eThagrosh might benefit, but I'd rather have the Typhon+Carnivean spray-extravaganza than strafe and slipstream.

It's totally up to your own playstyle, which of course will be the basis of the advice you give, so no worries. But personally, I play without Seraphs at least half my games, and do just fine
