Why all the skimpy armor?

I know, I know, the real reason for it is fanservice. So shut up about that.

But what I want to know is: are there any in-universe reasons why so many IK females seem to prefer rather skimpy armor? I am unaware of much tactical advantage of leaving one's midriff exposed, and rather good reasons not to (ie. bare regions are very easy to stab/shoot). So why do Denny, Lylyth, Everblight's Ninja Twins, Kaya, Skarre, the Witch Coven, the Druid Wilder, Lanyssa Ryssyll, Dahlia Hallyr, etc. feel the need to run around in warzones wearing rather skimpy clothing?

This post is seriously ridiculous. You cannot be serious. Here's a secret - all the aesthetic choices in this game? Giant shoulder pads, ridiculously huge weapons, super hunchbacked warjack's? They are all there because out looks cool. Absolutely no other reason. Lets move along now

This right here. Any "in universe" explanation is simply wishful thinking or trying to make stuff up so it makes sense. It doesn't. It looks cool and that's it.

Oh, and Skarre, really? I'm surprised she wears as much as she does. Probably the cold on the open water. (And seriously, go find the bit of her fight with Haley)

On the other hand, Haley, Sloan, Laddermore, Sorscha, Zerkova, the Old Witch, Kaelyssa, Ravyn, Makeda, Grissel, Feora, Ashlynn, Durgen, etc.

There's a large number of military-type female characters who wear full armor. There's a decent number of less-regimented casters who wear almost-reasonable armor(Vayl, Morvahna, Kaya, Saeryn, Rhyas) and there's really just a select minority that have the truly skimpy outfits(Lylyth, Skarre, Deneghra, Absylonia, Bethayne, Thagrosh, Amon Ad-Raza, etc,) most of whom have a semi-fluffy reason to skimp on clothing.

It's really not that bad if you take a detailed look at it, man.

To offer a reason: wearing less bulky armor allows one to move and maneuver much faster. If you're not getting hit by swords or bullets there isn't much need for armor now is there?
