    Default Artillery movement

Question about ruling on artillery movement.

Take the Commodore for example. It can move 1" for every crewman in b2b with it. Can the unit issue the order to run? I don't see why not, but 3"-4" will take artillery 2-3 turns to get into position and be able to contribute the scene. It just seems weird to have it move so slow and not have any other way of getting it up the field.

No. I believe it says on the card that the cannon can't run. It has a long range on the gun and besides Shae can "move" it with his feat. I have always thought that moving it one turn was enough.

The Commodore is special, as it is "Heavy Artillery" unlike all of the other field gun type pieces in the game which are "Light Artillery". Light artillery can run thanks to the new Light Artillery rules, but Heavy Artillery works differently. It doesn't have any normal movement (SPD 0) so running is pointless (still 0). Instead it has a special rule that lets it advance a number of inches based on the number of crew in B2B.
