I have spoken at great lengths about opening a store with a good friend of mine that owns the comic store in Lethbridge. Sadly it doesn't sound like the profit margin on a business like this is large enough to support more than one owner.
Dude. I work for $10 an hour. Profit margin really wouldn't be my biggest concern at first.
Also, if done right, anything can make a good profit. The secret is volume, and good vibes.
I had my sister and mom over today. But, I'll be in next week to start up the next season of the league, and to do a painting demo. I'll be covering the use of metallics for the next one.
what about a tim hortons franchise IN THE STORE (patent pending)![]()
Okay. What do I know. A lot in this case. Volume and good vibes, sounds like a firm business plan if I ever heard one.![]()

i'm not saying that you don't know anything.....if you don't want to support us, that doesn't bother me. Anywho.....[END OF DISCUSSION]
I'll be there this weekend, to wreck face with my new 50 point list (hopefully i have a chance to paint my 1 unpainted model in that list this week)......and this is Lock and Load Prep, so i'm going to offend everyone now......but until Lock and Load i will not be playing less than 50 points, unless there's only like an hour left in the day and i just want a pick up.
Fine by me. I love 50 points myself.
Having a cafe in a game store will help with profitability, as well as setting up a discount program, and an online presence. That's absolutely key. Without an online store, and good discount, you might as well consider yourself finished before you begin.
I already ran a business with that philosophy for three years.
You know what?
It was #1 for gross sales, profit, promotional sales and customer numbers in a network of 70 bakeries across Canada for the entire three years. And in the top 20 for the world wide network of 700 bakeries.
Don't discount having a good atmosphere for making a business successful.
Model looks cool......although i'll have to mod the narwhale horn in some way/shape.....with the video release, i can almost garauntee it'll be at L&L.......which will be sweet!
Kinda looks like something from Bioshock. Which is neato. :P
Are they on the same size base as the Battle Engines?
Lastly, I'm interested in some 50 points games. I haven't played many since I actually got an army large enough to do so. ><

[B]Failing rolls on loaded dice all day. [B] | I play Darius... in tournaments.
I am all in on the 50pts games and I don't care if it's not nice. If i lose in the first round, need to learn more. If i lose in the second round, getting better. If i lose in the third round, starting to truly understand this game. Lose in the 4th round and now i am just a few moves away from a win! So let's get the face punching on this coming Sunday! I will be there looking for the first black eye, lol.
I think the other thing that is very important, especially with WMH, is learning very precisely what your models do, and from there learning all the rules. After that just playing a crapload of games is probably best. With WMH its so easy just to pick up and play that getting a very firm grasp on the ruleset can easily fall by the wayside. I personally thought I knew what I was doing until the last steamroller, nothing worse than not being confident that you can actually do what you want your models to do.
Learning all the nuances really helps. Up until about a month ago nobody that I play with outside of the box (King, Teflon) did any kind of power attacks what so ever just because we didn't have a clear understanding of the rules. Once King learned to execute trampling his army went from really annoying to Vynde levels of irritating. Using Push, for example, never crossed my mind until Ghool pointed it out to me.
What you can and can not measure, how movement works, how your turn phases are structured. Wish I had paid more attention to it all sooner.
And from now on I'm not going to allow my self any take backsies junk, and you guys can all hold me to that. Quickly and confidently executing an activation is what my goal is and I'm not going to get there taking back my retarded mistakes or activating in the wrong order. ><

This is one of the best things you can do, but also a really hard one. USB and I have started doing this in casual games. I played him on thursday and made 3 mistakes on my first turn... I was so tempted to ask for a take back but didn't and feel that I learned a lot more by not.
And by that he means terminus ate his face.......yummy yummy face.
Lean, mean and tournament ready is probably what all you guys should be practicing for L&L anyways. You'll be going against some of the best, and you need to bring your A game if you want to kick some arse.
Feel free to kick mine in the meantime....I hate Terminus almost as much as eLylyth.![]()
Lol........ Whatever it was still a big win for me.......if I get one decent win with that list on sunday I'll take it with to red deer instead of sunny........if you haven't sent them in yet.
Please note; I am willing to ninja shop for those wanting to get their stuff early. We can discuss details as the date approaches. This includes what you want, what I speculate will be available, and how much it's going to cost. Please keep in mind that I am crossing a border, and what I can bring across is limited.
That said; I want my community to get the good stuff before it's released. The expansion book should be easy to get multiples of.
lol or we may have to discuss getting something for me before they sell out.......{cough}{cough}{ckroukeghn}{cough}
Oh man some ninja shopping would be amazing.
we all hate vynde......that's a given, so it's really not worth mentioning......
Whatever......you like it......and have you read the rules for the league? ghetorix attacking with the pDenny's feat and cripling grasp on a caster...........drool
scenarios don't look too bad......just skimmed over them though, i'll look over them thoroughly when i get home.
