Meh, I'm miles away from sane at this point......and that's why I said, and I repeat "I want to sit down with you one day." The only reason I even remotely wanted to hazard the idea of using my dyes is in the industrial world they are the absolute best way to control color and temperature of shades. I'm not stupid and pretty much figured that that much concentrated pigment would probably ruin a mini, but was more wondering if there is something comparable to that that I could make do.
So......."I would like to sit down with you one day......."
I would come, but this flu I have is killing me! I actually had to call in sick today.....and I never do that. It's kicking my ***....
And yeah, I am the world's worst player; I leave my 'caster exposed, activate things wrong, and if I ever need my dice to roll good for me, they don't.![]()
sounds like you just as much practice as I do Ghool
Is anyone down at the box this Sunday - might hopefully make it by....this time!
That thing looks awesome. I'm really excited to see what all will be at LnL.......kraken.....yes please......gaspy3......yes please......i'll be there this sunday, but not likely to play.....i'll be handing stuff off to people. Money to Ghool.......models and stuff to Dawn to drive down to LnL for me......hope and pray that sentry has my blister of blackbanes so i can finish my list for LNL......
I know this is a really late post but at Triliogy tonight there is a painting competition. The kicker is that they are selling the one model you are planning to purchase at cost GST. It starts at 6pm tonight. I am going and buying the battle engine at cost plust GST. I know that i will never be able to finish painting a model like that in the 4 hours you have but to get a battle engine at cost and have/watch painting techniques is something i can't pass up. The cost of the event is $5, so if anyone is interested come on down to Triliogy Game store located on 18 street SE
I brought it up on the local forums, but I'm posting it here in case anyone doesn't visit them that often.
The idea is This.
Let me know what you guys think.
Lol.......new plastic battlebox? And yeah I thought I had it bad but I have nothing on you.
Ghool can you bring the league kit today, so I can finish the patches on my bag........and get my medal.
I have an Epic Eiryss to paint for the painting competition, and that's what I'll be doing today and tomorrow. Then I have to work, clean my car and house, get US cash, and buy some stuff for the road trip.
I ended up catching a killer flu, which put me 5 days behind on my painting schedule, and now I have to make it up in two days.
I won't be at the Sentry Box today. For the third time.![]()
Hey Ghool. I was wondering if you could give me a quick demo in metal today, at the sentry box, where you will be today.![]()
Ok.....sue me......somehow I missed that post of ghool's........
I was going to ask you, when you flew to LnL last year, did you have ANY problems getting onto the plane? I'm flying air canada, and their carry-on policy says max width of said bag is 9"......by my measurements, my bag is 9" all the way down till the bottom where the binder ring making it 9 1/2" at the bottom. Just wondering if that 1/2" will make a difference?
Just packing up the family and going to swing on by to catch that demo. The demo that Ghool is putting on. Hopefully you have time to do NMM as well. See you at the box in a few, friend.

I flew on two of the smallest planes Air Canada flies, and I had no problem getting it under the seat.
I went with my BF bag, and another shoulder strap carry on. No checked luggage.
On the small prop plane they tried to get me to check my BF bag, but I insisted that I needed it with me, as the models were very fragile (on the prop plane, you check your luggage on the tar). The steward was nice enough to let me put it in his storage closet, even though it would have fit under the seat.
Empty all the pockets, and put your dice, templates, tokens and other BS in your checked bag. Don't have any medals hanging off of it either; a blank, empty bag will squeeze under the seat best, and not having military-looking awards and medals on your stuff is better. The patches are fine; you don't want to have anything that remotely resembles military crap on you, or your bag for profiling reasons.
Just be courteous to the airport security agents, look them in the eye, and let them know full well that your bag contains metal figurines before it goes through the x-ray.
I even went so far as to tell the x-ray operator that my bag contained metal figures, and that they would likely want to search it whilst looking him in the eye. Did they search it? No.
Don't profile yourself; don't wear army fatigues, all black, 'Death to All' on your t-shirt, or any other nonsense. I would even refrain from wearing a Warmachine t-shirt. Just make yourself look like average joe.
The most important thing is to communicate, and look people in the eye when talking about what's in your bag. If they need to search it, ask that you be present, and that you would prefer to pack it up yourself afterwards.
Just be cool, and casual, and don't act like a terrorist, or be nervous, and you'll glide through no problems.
I only had my bag searched once on the way in, and the guy was more interested about what the models were for, and asked me a bunch of questions about the game, and modeling/painting while he went through the stuff.
Cool......getting through security wasn't my issue.....I was the slight oversize.
Thanks!
Hey USB/Ghoolies, how do I get the red/gold/bumpy bits of armor to look decent on these models? The parts that look like.. stippled.. I tried to wash it, it just looked bad.
