That was one of the cool things at LnL......the basing class. The dude there taught us to use an oven bake clay putty to make our bases. Simple techniques that work great. I'm nearly finish the base on the kraken. "Baked" it last night, and just need to do some clean up work on it today. Hey Ghool, do you think rubbing alcohol will effect the PP resin? They told us to clean the putty after it's baked to be able to paint cleaner, is to brush it with rubbing alcohol. And i'm thinking to make a few pieces to mod the model itself, and don't want to wreck the resin.

Nope, it won't do anything to the resin, or the plastic.
It's not a solvent, so don't worry about it too much.

Hordes two player box is Legion vs Circle, not a bad deal.. could be reason for me to get more shredders and warspears? lol

Also Ghool whats the name of the brush you use for two brush blending, the bigger one.

It's the same brush I use for painting, just an older, worn out one.
You can get a #3 for it, but I just clipped the tip off of an old #2.

Because a wider end is easier to blend larger areas with. It was an old brush that was losing it's cool, and a bigger brush is better. Since I didn't want to buy a brush just for blending, I cut the end off of a smaller one.

I'm bringing my kit, and my Stormwall this Sunday. I'll be sticking around for a while; the wife is working, and my mom's watching the kids for me.
So, no flack for taking my sweet-*** time.

Spenser, if you could bring your iPhone, I'm thinking we might be able to do some recording of the steps to clean up the Stormwall, and some or all of the assembly.

I just pitched a 6-8 page article for NQ to Aeryn, and he's digging it. So, I'm not sure how much time I'm going to have to write for Hand Cannon anymore; it might just be all NQ articles from here on out.

I'm thinking we get a Hordes Starter and a Warmachine Starter and build from there. This is what I'm thinking. Paint it to a very high standard using the techniques Ghool has shown us. Possibly make some cool bases for them.

I agree that we all have tons of models I alone have a metric ton to paint just thought it be cool, it was something Ron said during the painting foundry that kind of inspired it.

Nah, I'll take it. Just give me a bit to get some cash together. The trip left us a little strapped, and I probably won't have enough spending money for it until next month.

I don't really care for the mini rule book but we can work something out like split the price in 2 and the one who want the book pays the GST or something like that. Let me know if your interested. As for painting i would like something more like every 2 weeks but i can be flexible.

If you're taking the Legion, a Shredder per week is easily do-able.

Damn, crap, ****, hell........I must have the worst luck with mispacks.......got 2 of one smoke stack for the kraken, and am short one........I hope they don't make me wait till the retail release of the model to fill out my replacement request.

i don't struggle with it........i just don't care as much.......although when i'm getting close to being ready, i'll have to consult you about blending/highlighting the armor plates on Francine. Cloaks and highly textured area's i'm good with, but big flat area's i have problems getting to look nice.

As i read in a web comic a while back "You paint your models, and i put paint on my models......big difference....."

Hey guys, so for the last few weeks i've been playing a few games at friends houses so when I finally start playing at Sentry Box I won't look like a total scrub with the rules

One thing I'm wondering though - continuous effects on units with more than 1 model. So lets say I hit some Bane Thralls with a flamethrower and the continuous effect is applied to(how it reads) "the model hit" , since these models don't have hit boxes, does it immediately expire since that model that was hit is removed - OR is the entire unit considered under the effect of the continuous fire until they roll the 1-2 in the maintenance phase? Reading "Spells and effects" , I believe it applies to the entire unit. I just wanted to get this clarified.

It applies to each single model hit. If the entire unit is hit (which is unlikely) then you roll for each single model in the maintenance phase.
If a 1 or 2 is rolled in the maintenance phase (for each model in the unit under the continuous effect) then no damage roll is made for those particular models.
If the effect doesn't expire, then the model suffers a POW 12 damage roll.

If the fire boxes the model in question before the continuous effect is applied, then it doesn't get the continuous effect. Continuous effects are applied on a single model at a time; if one trooper gets hit, and the rest of the unit is not hit, then only that one trooper will suffer the continuous effect, not the entire unit.

Ah, so flameguard with unit attachment isnt ideal to stack up against simple other infantry but instead something with hit boxes (like jacks or man o wars).

And quick question vs Khador doom reavers - it says after you kill a model you get to attack another model (with berserk). What if you kill that model with Berserk, does Berserk trigger again and you get to attack again? Seems insane that a single model can wipe out almost an entire unit of infantry if positioned right.

Guess it's best to stick jacks/shooting units against them if that is the case.

Berserk attacks trigger other berserk attacks......and you don't have an option to not swing, so if you generate a berserk attack and only friendly models are in range, you must attack them, unless you have special rules. It's one of those special rules that can be great but can also backfire very easily.

On a side note.......enjoy.......this turned out great.
