Hey Folks!
I'm a calgary gamer and me and 2 friends have been playing small games for some time. Well the worst thing has happened...one of our friends can't play anymore (OH NO!).....at least for a short time. As much fun as it is to lay waste into my good friend over and over again (well i guess he wins sometimes too

), we'd like to take this opportunity to look for a few more people to join us.
We play on thursday nights, and i've seen a few people looking for thursday night gaming, at my house in south calgary. We have a complete table that can potentially be setup for up to 100 point 1v1 games. We play fairly competatively, yet we try to keep the games friendly enough to stop people from going home with bloody noses, bruises, or worse.....BROKEN MODELS!!!!
What we are thinking in trying to get people down to the sentry box downtown (I like sentry as it's very centralized and enables equal chance for everyone to make it down) next thursday and possibly the thursday following, to play some quick battle box games, to meet people and get a feel of play styles(and it's much easier to transport just the 3-5 models in the battle box than a complete army)

I'm usually at the Sentry Box on sundays.
They have expressed an interest in me starting up the league and tournaments again, which I might do, depending on how much free time I allow myself.
Right now, it's a bit of a wash, as I prepare for Lock n Load.
I'll likely start something up after June, as the Sentry Box will gladly order the league and tournament kits for me.

When I had it running a few years ago, we had a community of 25 players or so, which made for a lot of games, and some really fun tournaments. I'm hoping to do that again, as the scene kinda flopped over and died when I had my two kids!

They're only open until 6pm on sundays, but I'm usually there around noon. If there's no one to play, I will often just hang out and chat for an hour or so.
Just let me know what time you'd like to meet up, and I can bring my stuff for a game or two.

Points level doesn't matter. I haven't played a game in almost two years!

I would like to give my 50 point Hardcore list for LnL a few practice runs, but it's not essential.
I can play battle box, up to 100 points with a fully painted force. Your call.

I'll show up around noon, and dust off my stuff!

Hey guys. Ive been out of the scene for about 8months now but would like to get back in. Sundays/weekends at the Box work the best for me too. I used to do the painting afternoons there too so if thats still on maybe we can get a paint and play slow grow league started?
Ghool - in the meantime I can put 50pts (not all painted) on the table if you want to get some L&L practice in. I wouldnt even mind playing timed turns & scenario if you can get a clock.
I can come down on Sunday if everyone's available.

Oh crap! I just remembered that my wife is working this sunday (may 15th)! I probably won't be able to make it until next week.
I'd show up with kids in-tow, but she has the car, and is working until 7pm....
Man, what a jerk I am! I get everyone's hopes up, and then dash them!

Vynde, that should allow you some time to get a bigger list. EE, I'll be there next week. The usual crew of painting guys is almost always there every sunday, so there should be some familiar faces.
That still isn't stopping anyone else from showing up for some games.

I will be there next sunday with bells on, with all my Cygnar stuff, ready to get my arse kicked.

Yep ok - that sounds fine. Gives me a chance to brush the cobwebs off.
What faction do you have - I have some bits from other factions and mercs/minions I may be able to lend you. So to any others interested - lets say meet around noon on sunday at the Sentry Box.

Ghool - I am flying back to England for a few weeks on the 19th so wont be there the week after but would definately be up for some organised play once I return. I was playing up at Myth a couple of times before work got crazy - but its not worth the hours drive for me. If you have some time this Friday early evening or Saturday I can meet up at the Box for a couple hours(same goes to anyone who wants a game at the Box). getting some painting in would also be welcomed.

I dont have anything for Cryx.

If they dont come in time - as long as you have the cards I dont mind you proxying your thralls/worm if you have something else same base size(or I can lend you proxy models).

Make a 15, a 20 and a 25 pt list and we'll decide what size Sunday.

fair warning, i am new to Warmahordes, only have about 3 games under my belt(so i havnt memorized all the rules) but i've been playing tabletop games for a number of years now.

I'll be bringing either a Kraye Cygnar list or I might dust off my Circle with Baldur or Kaya. I'll make sure I bring an extra unit of some description for you.

Well, me and my friend usually don't play on the weekend. But we're getting together tomorrow night to play a few games, and i'll see what he says about coming in to sentry this weekend.
Just a heads up tho......it may be a zoo in there this weekend, as this week is the Game weekend for the new magic release (i'm unsure if it's just friday and saturday or if it runs into sunday as well)

I'll be stopping in at sentry at least once this week, so i'll ask them and see what they think about how busy it'll be on sunday. if it's not going to be too bad, then yeah i'm up for a game or two in the afternoon.

I have a small, relatively scattered Cryx force.....i haven't played enough to get a good feel of which units work well together yet. my friend is still playing a battlebox force menoth force, as his first expansion he's planned, all the models are unavailable (rerelease on the choir). So he'll probably be in on a battlebox game. I should be able to make up a 25 point list (i think i have 60 points available if i were to proxy to fill my bane units.....again with the rerelease)

I'll let Greg at the Box know that we can likely start a small league for slow grow, since everyone is pretty new. I likely won't start anything up until the end of June, but if we have a steady player base of around 5 people, it shouldn't take long to get a decent number going after a few months.

If I can coerce my mom into taking the kids, there's a good chance I can make it out on sunday.

So i stopped in at the box today. I started talking to a few dudes around there and the Magic Release party is on Saturday, so sunday should be ok for us. I talked to my friend and he's interested in a few battlebox games (i think menoths box works out to 16 +5 caster points) and i'm probably going to bring a few models on top of the battlebox.....i'm thinking enough for a 25 or 30 point game. With this put into the works i'm thinking to not bother going to sentry this thursday.

My only questions are what time, and, since i've never played a game outside my basement, is there anything aside from my army/accessories that i need to bring. We have a limited amount of terrain pieces and a few buildings (although the buildings were modeled and built specifically to accomodate the 40K ruins/city fight rules, and i don't think would play well with warmahordes)

hey Usb, i think the plan is for some games starting around 12. I'll bring all my stuff and will be more then happy to try and play some games at any point level in the time i have.

As for stuff to bring all you should need is your models/dice/tape/cards/rulebook/markers i think.

The Sentry Box has tables and terrain in abundance. I always haul my terrain around too, as I have forest templates, obstacles, and some other fun stuff (plus, it doesn't get beat up like the all-comer store terrain does).

But, you should only need your models, books and accessories to play. Everything else is there.
I'm hoping to make it out this sunday as well. I have one of my Lock n Load entires I want to show off.

On a side note, i just finished magnetizing a plastic helljack kit + the Malice upgrade....it'll be coming with me as well

I'll bring a box of pretty terrain for us to use as well.
The 40k crowd will likely use it all on us.
I'm glad we use 4x4 tables, as all the 6x4 will likely be gone by 12.

I'll show up early, and set up a couple of tables. That way we can get the drop on the 40k'ers showing up later.
I shall be there right at 11am.

Hey Guys!

Great games today! I can't wait to get together some more to get some other games in. Next week i'm going to be out of town and my buddy said he thinks he'll be busy, but the following week i should be able to get another game or two in. I'd like to play against Vynde (or at least observe a game) to see how another Cryx player plays.

Hopefully i'll have my magnetic set finished painted for next time.

I might not be there next weekend as well, as the wife has to work the next 6 days, and it's her only day off.
But, the following sunday, I will definitely be there.

It was great to actually get a game in (stupid me, winning the attrition war, and blowing it all to hell on one risky chance)!
I'll take some one else on that weekend to mix it up a little. I would really like to try out my hardcore list, but I'd still be up for any sized game.
Glad to see some new faces, and to get some sort of community growing again too.

Just thought I would say seeing as some of you know already but some might not, Myth games also has a group of guys that play regularly every friday night around 5:00 pm and on.
