But, again, any size is fine. I need some more familiarity with the rules anyways.

I plan on showing up at 11am. Probably can't stay past 1pm, 2 at the latest. I have to work as well.

I just got called into work!
One of the other guys couldn't make it for the afternoon shift, so they called me.
Since it's a chance for some OT, and I need the cash for Lock n' Load, I took the opportunity.

Once I'm back from Lock n Load, I'll probably stop working sundays to make more time to run events, and/or a league.

Its the mrs. birthday so i wont be there next weekend(5th), but besides that i should be good for most sundays.

I was thinking about how to go about running a league and tournaments, and this is a rough plan of attack I came up with.

Gaming for three sundays of every month.
A painting day for the last sunday of every month.
Every second or third month, the painting day becomes a tournament day.

That way, you can get three gaming days a month, one painting day, and a tournament every couple of months.
There would be prize support, and I'll provide pointers and demos for painting on the painting days.

With this kind of schedule, everyone would get some models painted, have a chance to play several times a month, and get a good feel for competitive play.
What do you guys think of that?

I think thats perfect, especially if we start a slow-grow. The painting day would be a way to try and encourage people to paint, all around sounds like a good plan.

Oooh I am now interested, I am pretty restricted for time sadly, but I thought I'd let you know I could add to the player count.

That doesn't mean you'd have to make every gaming/painting/tournament day.
That's the beauty of the PP leagues, you can remain competitive, even if you don't play all the time.
Prize support and tournaments are just a bonus.

Any players that can make it any number of days are always welcome....hell, I have two really young kids, so I don't make it out every weekend myself!

I want to have a game of Unbound once I breach the 150 points painted marker....shouldn't be too long.
Got my Cyclone, Kara Sloan, and Precursor Knights waiting for paint. That'll push me over 150 I think.

hey guys sorry i've been quiet. been busy working/out of town. i'm back a raring to get some gaming in. i'll definitely be there this sunday (the 12th) i'm thinking to try and be there for 11:00 again this week and grab the same corner that we've been in.

There WILL be early releases there, and I have early store access before the masses.

it was still a great game. i can't wait to start a league there's still alot of things i need to learn, and getting more games in will help that.

I'm thinking to possibly make a custom board just for us warmachiner's. i've got a few ideas for the direction i want to go, and some input would be great.

I'll make a draft of what i'm thinking, and show you guys when we meet up on the 26th.

Well, maybe on the painting days we can build a board too.
I was thinking of a modular foam board, made of 4 2'x2' sections. The textured boards at the Sentry Box are horrible (tipping models is not good!). But, they have to be that way, as some folks have a nasty neurotic habit of picking at the boards. So, they have to make them bullet proof.

I would use a finer sand/glue mix to coat the sections, and they'd be pretty lightweight just using high density foam. Building it in sections also aids in portability, as leaving them at the store, they'd get destroyed quickly.

I'm all for building a board or two, as the Box doesn't have many 4'x4' boards around. Everything is 4'x6' for all the WH players.

And your dice weren't that doing that good? Nothing less than a 9 rolled on two dice for two rounds isn't that good? Pshaw!

some changeable boards sounds like a good idea, those textured boards are a nightmare haha.

Hopefully by the 26th i'll have a 35 point army at least(come on back orders) of my Legion, since i am casting away my Cryx :P

Yeah, my thinking was to create a Dynamic board that we can create some house rules for the League that will accomodate 35-100 point games.
My first idea was some sort of stronghold, with a defender/attacker. my problem with that was it creates issues picking who the defender and attacker are. After reading some fluff from the Iron Kingdoms books(which actually sounds pretty fun), i got the idea to make a nautical themed board. I'm thinking 2 ships side by side with a gap of water between. Probably have a gangplank or 2 crossing the gap. and maybe have a few levels stacked. i haven't figured it all out, as the sizes of everything will determine how the layout works. i'm also thinking of a way to make the board configurable to make it easy to expand to a 4x6 board for unbound if we want. i did a full count of my army, and if i were to lump everything together i have just over 100 points. so unbound won't be very far off.

Hey guys! Lock n Load was a blast.
I only played my Hardcore Tournament, and one casual game. The rest of the time was spent talking to the studio guys, and other con attendees about painting, and sculpting. I have a lot of insider info I can share with you on the weekend.

I won Master Craftsman in Hardcore 1, and was awarded a Gold for my Centurion, and Silvers for my eSkarre, and unit of Rangers in the painting competition.

The bad news is, is that my wife's schedule has to change (damn corporate policies!), so I won't be able to make it out every sunday. However, we can still run the league, and I can still do painting days and tournaments. Just not as frequently.
I'll be out this sunday, and we can discuss everything, and get the league underway.
