Hey fellow warmachiner!
I just moved down here from upstate ny and am also seeking new players in this area!
have you found any stores or groups yet?
please advise!
Me and a couple of my friends are starting and we live in and around the Westminster area. There is a store on main street called Gotham Comics, and when I called and asked the owner said that he could only think of two other people that played anything privateer press. We are all teenagers though so transportation is a little tight on our end.
Welcome to the area, folks! There is a good number of groups and stores in the greater VA/MD area, and a large number of players. A list of the Maryland stores is available here. The list for VA is here. In Frederick, I believe the Hobbytown USA is the closest. Also, check out the Old Bay Buccaneers blog, which has a link to a local calendar for the area we try to keep up to date. We also have a google email group to keep people up-to-date, and if you're interested just PM me your email addresses and we'll get you signed up.
Welcome aboard!

Welcome to Frederick! That's my "home of record", where my family lives, and I'll be in that area around the Holidays later this year. Maybe for permenant next summer.
There's Hobby Town, which has a place to play, but also check out Brainstorm Comics. They'll special order anything for you, and there's a gaming club near them that you might join.
Plus, you can probably post contact info at both places to find folks.
Good luck, and I'll give a holler when Im' going to be in the area.

F.A.I.L.Gamers is at Hobbytown in Frederick. We play on weekends and have a relaxed build night on Tuesdays. While the leagues are going on people are also there most week day afternoons/evenings. Heck a bunch of us will be there today (tuesday) starting around 3pm so stop on by and say hi!

Im in the same boat just a different part of Maryland the closest store/club 2 me is in Newark,DE=scary/wierd people on Thursday nights and Critical Hit Games in Abingdon is kind of a drive
We need a store in Ceciltucky anyone from north east-elkton area who reads this would definately agree
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

I made it there once, on a lark, and it was a nice place, but I didn't see a good day to stop by. Its right up the road from me, so I'd be willing to stop by some day. Let me know if you get anything running.
As well: I just ran the second Tournament up at Critical Hits Games, and the next will be in september (final sunday of every third month) its a nice, clean store, if a little small.
In addition: I try and make it down to GnS on sundays, and I play Toadchild there on most wednesdays, so if anyone wants to stop on by for good times, there is that as well.
finally: I know a few guys in the Ceciltucky area (used to live there myself) who get games in sporadically. no where to go and play really stymies them.

seems like MD is growing in players...which is a good thing of course :-)
I wouldn't know much about up that far as I'm in the low part of Maryland, SoMD to be exact, and since your living in MD now welcome to the O.B.B
I'd suggest Games and Stuff in Glen Burnie or Leesburg Train and Hobbies in Leesburg, VA. Both stores have good crews who are more than happy to help learn the game.
Both shops seem to have a number of Frederick, MD gamers who'd rather drive there than game locally in Frederick. You do the math.

I'll be perfectly honest, I've never been inside Huzzah, since I live north of Baltimore. But if I lived closer, I'd play there. It's run by an acquaintance and I've got a good many friends who love the store and it's their number one place to hang out. If you listen to the Gamer's Lounge, Bill, Jay and all the various local guests they've had on the podcast all play there.

I stopped in two weeks ago. Nice little shop with a good vibe.
And they had zombie miniatures so that's always a win.
