    Default Had a stupid thought . . .

I read Garryth's Theme Force, and I decided to mess around with an all-infantry version of it. It looks stupid, but I think it can work. It goes up to tier 3, and looks like an unholy mess to play.

Garryth. Blade of Retribution - +5 warjack points
    -Chimera – 6 points
Mage Hunter Strike Force (maximum) – 8 points
-Mage Hunter Strike Force Commander – 2 points
    -Soulless Escort – 1 point
Mage Hunter Strike Force (maximum) – 8 points
    -Soulless Escort – 1 point
Mage Hunter Strike Force (maximum) – 8 points
    -Soulless Escort – 1 point
Mage Hunter Strike Force (maximum) – 8 points
Mage Hunter Assassin – 2 points
Mage Hunter Assassin – 2 points
Mage Hunter Assassin – 2 points
Mage Hunter Assassin – 2 points
Mage Hunter Assassin – 2 points
Mage Hunter Assassin – 2 points
    Nayl - free

    Any thoughts on my idiocy?

In my understanding you can only have 3 units with a Soulless Escort, and each of those 3 units can have up to 3 SEs. You could remove the 4th SE and combine that one point with Garryth's extra warjack point and change the Griffon to a Chimera for the arc-node. This will let you get new angles for your spells ::coughGallowscough::, and with it's inherent Apparition you can almost always count on the Chimera to be un-engaged and able to channel spells.

The only other 1 point model to replace the 4th Soulless Escort is an Arcanist, and that would ruin your tier bonuses, shattering your army.

Of course, the third option is just tossing that 4th SE into one of your other units - maybe the one with the commander.

Lol, that's a unit of Mage Hunter Assassins. That's frightening.

Thought about this when I was looking through the book, but it kinda runs into practical problems, doesn't it?

Do you really want $150-200 of models you won't be using in another list?

Pretty close to my crazy idea:

    Garryth, Blade of Retribution5
    Chimera6
Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 5 Grunts)85
    Soulless Escort321
Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 5 Grunts)85
    Soulless Escort321
Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 5 Grunts)85
    Soulless Escort321
Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 5 Grunts)85
Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 5 Grunts)85
Mage Hunter Strikeforce (Leader and 5 Grunts)85
    Mage Hunter Assassin2
    Mage Hunter Assassin2
    Mage Hunter Assassin2
    Mage Hunter Assassin2
    Mage Hunter Assassin2
    Mage Hunter Assassin2
    Mage Hunter Assassin2
    Mage Hunter Assassin2
    Nayl

    Nearly a UNIT of MHA's!

    Tough that!

Thanks for that catch. Forgot about FA. As for actually playing this list, I fear retribution for having this much Stealth in the form of everyone who knows me picking up every AOE-throwing piece available to them and slapping them all together on the table at once to carpet bomb my Stealthy goodness for my arrogance. I just wrote this up because I was bored.
