Question To reboot or start new?

I'm one of those players with faction ADD. I started at Trollbloods, then discovered Pirates and the rest of the mercs. I dabbled in Menoth and Skorne after selling off my trolls. I sold off my menoth and skorne and got into cygnar. I loved mercs because of the character and I loved cygnar because I felt I could make any army I wanted (lots of jacks, or lots of range, or lots of melee, or a balance) and I liked almost all the models of both mercs and cygnar.

However, I moved to South Korea after college and sold off most of my collection before going. I figured I wouldn't be playing much since the closest group seemed to be in Seoul and I'm in Busan (opposite ends of the country). Anyway I've finally found a small group of Koreans to play with and now am faced with the choice of either starting a new faction or reconstructing either cygnar or mercs (highborn most likely).

The scene here is 2 Menoth, 2 Cygnar, 1 Khador, 1 Cryx, 1 Retribution, 1 Circle, 1 Trolls. No Everblight (surprisingly) or Skorne, and I've been told theres a possible 2 more khador and 1 merc in the future as secondary factions for some of the players.

Thats a long winded way of asking for advice of which to do. If I started on a new faction I think it would be Everblight because I like the warbeasts and it seems to have a good balance of range and melee like cygnar and I wouldn't have to play against the same faction. OR Khador because just about every model I feel I would enjoy painting and I like the man-o-wars. Or Circle because its a completely different playstyle than I'm used to and I think it has mostly great models.

Has anyone else had a similar situation? getting out of the game then buying back in? did you start a new faction or did you go back to old familiarity?

sorry for the giant wall of text

Curse your wall of text! jk, its not that bad

I for one cannot say ive ever been in the same situation, but IMO i think just do whatever you think is best. I mean if you don't want to spend the time relearning a new faction go with one you already have played. retrospective, want to try something new, play something else.

I would personally choose one ive already dabbled with, just cause familiarity to me is more important than just getting something cause i haven't' gotten it before. by no means does that extrude you should only pick up the factions youve already played, but just the factions you generally know the best whether that be from reading more of the fluff from one faction, liking the models, knowing the rules, or seeing other players pull shenanigans that youve always wanted to try.

just go with the flow man and let the choice come to you,

Glad to hear you're back in the saddle!

Personally, I would start anew with Everblight, as I like to be a unique opponent for others, and I personally would want a Hordes as well as a Warmachine faction to play. That's me, though.

I would start anew if you like Everblight. I'm in the same boat of faction ADD and am trying to sell/trade off everything I've got but one - if I were to trade off everything, then I'd feel a bit weird turning that money around and buying models I already had at some point. :P

If there is a new faction that strikes your fancy I think that is he way to go.
You'll have a steeper learning curve getting back in but you'll also have more room to grow.

I am a fan of starting new. I have a Legion Warpack, but if I had to start over, and I am a Cygnar/Merc player, I would totally buy Legion for the look and feel of the army. Dragonspawn are beautiful.

Mercs might not be a bad idea, with Damiano on the way out you could experience some new game play while having your old favorites to fall back on if you need to get seriously competitive with any of these players.

If the ones you're considering are decided on, I'd look at the casters. Whichever faction has the most casters that appeal to you is the one to go with. Casters are the quickest and cheapest way of adding variety.

currently play/collect four factions, and have collected and played all of teh Warmachien factions at some point.

I have collected, played and sold off complete Khador collections twice.

Done same with Cryx twice as well.
