On February 14 love will be in the air, but on February 13 it will be clouds of steam, pain, and destruction. I can get behind that.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. TheIconJBG and Gatehouse Games proudly bring to you RESURGENCE, the Warmachine MK2 release event on Feb 13, 2010.
With registration as soon as the doors open at 1PM and battle commencing at 2PM, we hope you bring your armies of 25, 35, and 50 points to battle.
The cost of this event is $10 if you are using a fully painted army and $15 if you have unpainted or primer only models (thanks for reminding me to put this in), but that sweet, sweet cash gives you all the opportunity to earn yourself the Champion medal for winning the event and a Warmachine faction coin for being the best of the best. And consider that extra cash requirement as a little incentive to show off your skills. Keep in mind at later events we will also hold a painting competition, so nothing like getting prepared.
Hordes armies are legal for this event but can only win the Champion coin. Sorry, but you will have your day soon enough.
Lists escalate from 25 to 50 points and the larger list must contain all models from the smaller list with a few exceptions to be discussed later. No list may be below 2 points of the level it is assigned.
First, the 25 point list cannot have an epic caster or non-caster character models unless that character is released in Prime MK2 or a Talion charter can field up to three character models.
The 35 point list may include the epic version of the caster used in the first round and specific warjacks can be upgraded to a unique or character version: Lancer becomes Thorn and Ironclad becomes Ol Rowdy. Slayer becomes Nightmare and Seether become Deathjack. Juggernaut becomes Beast 09 and Berserker becomes Drago. Revenger becomes Blessing of Vegenance and Crusader become Fire of Salvation. You may also buy these warjacks regularly with the points you have available. Non-caster character warrior models cannot be used at 35 points unless they were in the 25 point list.
The 50 point list must contain the same models as the 35 point list, but there are no other restrictions except the models must be faction legal.
Hope to see you there.

Sweet, I get a chance to win a coin...now which to I want to go for. Hm, I could go for the sure shot, or duke it out with one or two others. Or I could take the faction almost everyone will be playing and try to keep them from it.
Choices, Choices...
Because eStryker is the hero Cygnar deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll shun him because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.
Hooray. And needless to say, if anyone has any problems trying to find the place, PM me. I'm feeling helpful today.

The big day is slowly closing upon us. We will be holding this event February 13th, regardless if we have the kit or not.
The floors of Gatehouse have not been cleansed with the sweat of victory and tears of defeat in so long.
Be seeing you soon.

So Les, you get to pick who I take to Big Toona, by dint of not wanting to compete for your coin.
Cygnar or Mercs, buddy? Who should I bring the pain with?
Either way, the forecast calls for Devil Dogs!
The Grand Galactic Inquisitor insists that you IGNORE ME! Also, I can read your mind. IGNORE ME!
The bloody conquest of Greensburg and its hordes of undead horrors by the man in the machine is complete. Now the Empire will attempt to expand its borders once again in Duncansville with a different warcaster leading the way, but which one? Only time will tell. For the Motherland!!!
Done and done! Now, to decide which Cygnaran caster for me to have an average showing with. Hmmmm. I must ponder this. Who will be best with Devil Dogs, though, that's the real question. I lean towards Caine.![]()
The Grand Galactic Inquisitor insists that you IGNORE ME! Also, I can read your mind. IGNORE ME!
I am amused by the planning for the Duncansville tourney.
Geist "Hey Les. What are you running in Duncansville?"
Les "Mercs".
Geist "Ok. I'll run Cygnar then".
Vic "Hey Les. What are you running in Duncansville?"
Les "Mercs".
Vic "Ok. I'll run Cygnar then."
Geist "Hey Justin, what is Vic going to run in Duncansville?"
Me "Cygnar because Les is running Mercs".
Geist "But I was going to run Cygnar".
Me "Well then I guess you'll be competing with Vic because he doesn't want to compete with Les (and Joe) anymore than you do".
Geist "Well what are you running?"
Me "What the hell do you think I'm running. Khador. Duh."
Geist "Well you don't need another Khador coin."
Me "No, but I'm going to try and win one anyhow. Would you rather I played Cygnar too and gave you another person to compete with for your coin?"
Geist "I thought Vic said he was going to play Khador?"
LOL. This ought to be good. Where's my popcorn?
Well, I was being very nice and trying not to compete with Geist at The Vault, who made it difficult.
"I'm playing Retribution."
"I'm playing Mercs."
"I never said I was playing Mercs, I'm playing Retribution. What kind of a man says he's going to play Mercs, and then plays Retribution? So I said was going to play Mercs, but I'm going to play Retribution. But I'm going to bring both."
AHHHHHHHH!!!
So, here's my planning for Duncansville: I has a Cryx Coin. I'd like a coin for another Faction I play. Les whups my butt like it owes him money every time we play. Ergo, I really, really, don't want to compete with Les for a coin.
Les sez "I'm playing Mercs."
That means that I can play Cryx (already got one; Dwight, Tim and Charles would like a shot at one, I'm sure), Mercs (a$$whuppings of legendary status, snowball's chance of a coin), Khador (ehhhhhhhh, I'm not confident enough to try and win with them, The Old Man's a Ringer, what if Nick wants to play?), Menoth (nobody cares, don't own them, haven't played them since 2005 and that was a battlebox game), or Cygnar (I kinda suck with them, but at least I own them, and I don't have to go through Joe and Les for it).
So, poor Geist and I will have to compete for the Cygnar coin. Or he could win a (probably) uncontested Mentos coin. I'm not going to wait till he's done making waffles.
Screw it, so long as it isn't me versus six other Cygnar players, I'm fine with that.![]()

It might sound worse but it looks worse to me.
Rob says there might be a few of us coming along to duncansville. Everyone loves these coins, I might have to have the Vault pick up another set or two.
Because eStryker is the hero Cygnar deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll shun him because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.
More the merrier, I says. Let's get a dozen, nay, two dozen, all playing Cygnar.
Make me work for it!
Oh, BTW, Geist says he'll run Protectorate of Mentos if he gets cards twixt now and then. Does Tim have the 2010 decks, JBG? Failing that, I might, that is might get him a deck at Templecon, depending largely on my largesse.
It'd be real nice to get all the Factions representing at Gatehouse's as well as the vault.

I would come out but I am sure that I (1) can't get the day off after taking neatly two weeks off from work for TempleCon (2) Will be needing to refill the coffers after TempleCon and (3) wouldn't want to make the competition for a Cygnar coin too easy by being the only other Cygnar dood.
Just chiming in to comment that I'm glad to see WARMACHINE is still going strong in PA.
Hey! Wasn't sure if you were still going to Templecon or not, big guy. Good to hear that you are. Dwight, Nick and I are getting pretty giddy about it. We'll have to hang out and get some chow there.
As to me getting a Cygnar coin, I'd be willing to bet you have a much better MkII record with them than I do (currently 0-4, baby!). I also seem to recall that you beat me last time we went head to head.![]()

For the Altoona guys, I had Ty tell them but I don't know their intentions. It could be just Charles or it could be Charles, Ty, Josh, Jeremy, Bill and Corbin. And maybe Ariel.

What's the story with the painting requirement this time? Can we pay $5 more to play with unpainted minis or do they all have to be painted?
Painted....whats that?

Sorry about that slight oversight; yes you can use unpainted minis for $5 extra. I've gotten used to fully painted armies or models bought an hour before that I omitted that. I'll fix it.

Very sad that I cannot join you guys for what is looking to be a spectacular tourney.
There's always the next one, for many years after that. With your eternal unlife to play WM, I think you'll make at least one.

Looks like Joe won't be able to make it. He spent Friday night in his van, stuck in a snow drift during the blizzard till around six am. He's fine, but his vehicle goes into the shop next Saturday. What this means for Tim and JJ is beyond my Magic Eight Ball ESP, though it's definitely coming up "outlook not so good."
Fresh off of my Templecon experience, I'll be bringing new kid on the block, Kara Sloan, who, if I'm reading the feat correctly, says, "When this feat is used, if Justin Shannon or Les Smartnick are in range, they lose automatically, and Vic Badger wins automatically."
I could be misreading that, though.![]()
The Grand Galactic Inquisitor insists that you IGNORE ME! Also, I can read your mind. IGNORE ME!
After getting a pair of games with her, I can now honestly say Kara Sloan shoots things inna face. She's a beast.
Oh, y'all can sleep a little easier, too, since the Devil Dogs will be in the same place they've been in ever single tourney I've ever played in, the army case. Boomhowler, however, will be there with a full complement of his homeboys. Also, I got the mad gobber Reinholdt! Gun Mages! Woo!
Out of curiosity, who's going to be manning the Gatehouse helm on Saturday, since Tim won't be there? And will they actually have the store open on time?![]()

Due to some family issues, I won't be able to make it, but the rest of the GODdies will be there. Bummed, cause I was looking forward to it. I hope Dwight wins a Cryx coin!

Congratulations to Les for somehow managing to hold of Terminus for the Champion, and congrats to everyone else who took best in their faction. Some were easy and others were stiff competition. Hopefully we'll get to see you all again soon.

I had a great time too first with the tourney and then with dinner afterwards. A tough game with Rob in the first round AGAIN that I squeeked out. I couldn't get by Terminus in the second round though. At least he didn't have the satisfaction of killing Vlad. I had a fun game with Bruce in the last round too. That was the first time I got to play him. We both forgot that he cast harm on Beast 09 otherwise he would have been boxed which would have opened up a lane for his Winterguard to shoot at Vlad.
Hopefully we'll see ya'll in two weeks in Greensburg.
Good news; the kit is in. Those who won a coin will receive it the next time I see you.

Jeff, I don't know if you have your private messaging turned on or not so I'll re-type this here. Can you or Tim mail the coins to me? If you send them priority mail no later than this Tuesday then I'd have them by Friday. I'll see Les on Saturday so I could give him his champion and Merc coins. I get Khador. John gets Cygnar. Dwight gets Cryx. The only ones you wouldn't need to send are Menoth and Retribution.

mailing them would be cool, especially since i dont know that i can make it to the event on March 13th. and i have no problem with sending my coin to justin's address with his coin too (he is 4 blocks away from me). it would be best to send to one address, save on shipping. if you would like $ for shipping, let me know where i should send a bday card with $ in. thanks for the info. ~Dwight `=^)
