Default Two drunks walk into a bar...Caine 35 points

    Hello all...

I wanted to make a pCaine army using boomhowler and company as a tough infantry screen. I try to play pCaine as a support caster (I mean look at his spell list) and I figured boomhowler and company would benefit greatly from what Caine has to offer.

The basic idea is that boomhowler receives blur on turns one and two to buff their defense on the approach in addition to using Murdoch's go to ground ability to buff it even higher against shooting and magic. On turn three or whenever the opportunity arrases. Caine casts snipe and deadeye on Boomhowler and they assault using the order from Murdoch. In addition, If I can get a well placed thunderstrike on the enemy caster or a jack or model near him/her to knock them down I can assault and fire away with boomhowler with several pow 12's.

    pCaine - 6
^Ol' Rowdy (for the free run and charge)
    ^Squire +2

Boomhowler and Company (full unit) +9
    Murdoch + 2

    Gunmages (full unit) +6
    Gunmage UA +2
    ^Marshalled Defender +9
Strangeways (extra focus to the defender and general repair)

I have stealth mitigation, plenty of range, a melee beatstick, a tarpit unit. I figured I covered all my bases. Anyone have thoughts or suggestions? Boomhowler and pCaine are the only models I am hell bent on using.

Sound principles. I think finding room for Rangers would be a huge boon given this amount of shooting. About the only thing I see to cut would be Defender & Arlan. That one shot is nice and all, but it's 11 pts.

Those two out, and bringing Rangers in would leave you with 6 pts to go. You could marshall a Hunter to pretend you never lost the Defender, or get more utility models in: Jr./Eiryss or Rhupert/A&H from there.

I don't think it'll just be 1 shot with the defender, since if you go second, you can reach out and touch things on turn 1. That said, as moz pointed out, swapping him out for the hunter and dropping strangewayes would allow you to get a unit of rangers, and that seems like a great idea in this list.

I always try and make room for E-eiryss for both Caines as a camping focus caster is hard for them to assasinate. I always find I need to remove certain upkeeps during critical turns also. Keep her in the back and bring her forward on the assasination run. Seconded on the Rangers. Both have actually become as close as auto include as I can get in all my Cygnar lists. Throw in the B13 and Boomhowlers and you have my core units.

I can totally see the rangers coming into this list. As far as Eiryss goes I might pass. I play against a lot of hordes and there aren't too many upkeeps I need to worry about and certainly no camping focus.

Thanks for the advice however, it was my fault for not sharing who my common opponents were.
