    Default New cards arrived

yay got my new cygnar deck and new plastic jack today.
new cards are nice and you even get a quick ref card one with advantages, immunities and weapon qualities on it.
    nice one PP.
generally 3-4 of each jack, couple of the solos and one of each unit. could have done with slightly more of unit attachment officers as they have damage but can record that else where anyway.
the plastic jack is smaller than expected but looks good.

As far as I know, there will not be* a Retribution deck as all of the Retribution models come with mark 2 cards.

*Not be as in won't be one this month, they have not announced a Retribution deck. Of course there is a possibility of one in the future.

have to say not keen on the plastic they decided to use, plastic glue isnt working very well, probably have to use superglue which is annoying

What's wrong with superglue? It's what you use for every other PPS model, so it shouldn't be much of an adjustment for you to use it here, too.

Plastic glue won't work at all, as this isn' the standard type of plastic used in most models.

The company has stated that you will have to use superglue, not plastic glue, as the models are not made from plastic, per se.

didnt have any in the house, thats why its annoying. plus i like GW plastics as they go together so easy due to plastic glue working alot better on normal plastics than superglue does on anything else. plastic glue is also cheaper for more of it so lasts longer too. was hoping for the ease of GW style plastics and instead got this

i have never seen anything said about type of plastic they use either

That was the old forums and an issue of No Quarter that stated that plastic glue won't work. Don't think they stated what type of plastic they use though.

I was definitely disappointed to hear their plastic doesnt work with plastic glue, but in practice superglue does seem to work really well and fast with these.

I have found that by far "zap a gap" is the best superglue to use on medals and plastics. It forms a firm and lasting bond and is usefull for filling in the empty spaces that sometimes are present when putting together multipart figures. To speed up the drying process (to nearly instantaneous) I will either use "zipKicker" or testors "superglue accelerant". These are avaible at thewarstore.com but if you have a Michael?s near you they often have 40% of coupons in the Sunday paper and this makes getting zap-a-gap much cheaper, but they don?t sell superglue accelerants. Just my two cents from my experience.

Saliva and greenstuff also work as accelerants, in my experience. One is free, and the other is $12 for enough that you'll never run out unless you sculpt an Extreme Behemoth from scratch.

I'm curious - do the Faction Deck cards have the same "gloss" finish that have been seen in some of the newer models (Caine, Versh, the Basher, etc), or are they the same finish as the old ones?

Many stores got their replacement cards in. The ones they give to customers that buy models that have the old MK1 cards still in them. I suspect that is how many people are getting cards early.

So I think it was around the time Superiority came out that Privateer released a second set of card decks for Mk1, which were confusingly called, Faction Deck MkII.

I've been warning some of the new players not to buy them. Is there some kind of descriptor on the new packaging I can tell them to look for that makes it obvious that they are the right cards. Does it say 2010 on them for example? Or something?

Something I feel compelled to mention, Zap-a-gap is incrediably nasty stuff, I no longer use it as an accelerant as it will leech through your skin, and isn't good for it.

Green stuff is where it's at, it also improves joints because the puty makes the joins flush because it conforms to the shape of the parts, though go easy on it, for joints that are already flush.

You mean Zip Kicker? Zap-a-gap is basically just cyanoacrylate glue with baking soda mixed in.
