Arrow Speedfreek's Mixed Model Arts - Now with Skorne!

Now with added Skorne in page 2 and Cryx from page 6 and onwards!

    Newest Cryx:

    My Mammoth:

And Convergence Concept Model in page 5.
    http://privateerpressforums.com/show...=1#post2414864

I've been a long time hobbyist, mainly playing GW's games and with brief detours into Confrontation
(best game ever before their **** up) and also a little WM mkI back in 2007.
I thought I would have a comeback last summer, but after two small tournaments,
interest got low again and I didn't really get the ball rolling.

Now I'm giving this a new try again, and I'll start of by posting a couple of old models that most of you probably haven't seen.
(if not on the old forum)

Nephilim Soldier - based on Hordes mkI cover art - dec 2007

The plan is to post more stuff here when I have the time, need and urge to convert something new.
Hopefully, there will be a bit of painting as well.

Currently, it is all Cryx, but that could change at a whim.

    Current project: Skorne

Building a Skorne force with lots of converted Warbeasts and Warlocks.
A lot of it is on page two and forward...

That Nephilim Soldier is awesome. Way better than the stock pose.

I have a small Legion force but I stayed away from this model because I didn't like the pose. How did you do it?

stuff looks awesome. very well done, but it may just be me or the picture, but is the Avatars sword bent outwards a bit?
This thread just got 20% cooler because of Rainbow Dash.

I remember seeing that Soldier before, brilliant piece of work, now let's get that bad boy painted up, and if you can't then sell him to me and I will. That model deserves to be painted. The Seraph turned out really nice too. Thanks for sharing.

The open hand is from the Teraph and all the gaps were filled fith Super Sculpey and then burnt in an oven and almost ruined...
So if you try this at home, use an epoxy instead.

I've never liked the cute little Shredder, so here is a quick mock-up of how I plan to make mine.

I really want to see all of these together and painted. They look great. I remember the Soldier back in the day. Any warlock conversions? I'd love to see what you do with them.

MiniatureWargameConversions is having a monthly conversion contest
every month and here are the entrants for September.
I took out the old Nephilim and took some better pictures of him for the contest.
They are having a themed contest every month, so hopefully, there will be more entries
from this forum and from PPs range of wonderful figures in the future.

Now go vote for your favorite conversion!

So, you're painting the nephilim with black warpaint, right?

I've started on a paint scheme for my army.
Muted yellow and muted black would be the beasts main colours.

I've done a lot of progress in the last couple of days ad will actually play my first game of 35 pts today.

Here is a bunch och pictures of what I've been doing.

Absylonia with head from Vayl and claw from an Incubus.
Might replace her leg with some sort of tentacles.

Before and after a painting session at our gaming club.

And a close-up on the Forsaken, with the head of Absylonia and the shortened claw-arm from a Teraph.

Very cool. Vayl's head looks surprisingly good on Aby's body, and I like the Incubus claw. I'm looking forward to your tentacles.

I've recently done the basic assembly of a pair of Shepherds and a pair of Deathstalkers.
Hopefully they will be alright for most tournaments.

I like the muted primary color scheme. The mustard yellow is a great effect for creatures that are supposed to look unnatural, and the blue really stands out in contrast to it. Also, is that second shepherd's face done entirely in greenstuff? If so, did you use a shortcut, or is that cultivated sculpting skill? I've seen your 40k stuff various places on the 'net, and given how nicely your Dark Eldar army turned out, I'm eager to see where you go with the Legion of Everblight.

Your sculpting skills are really good! I love the Solider, it is far better than the original pose IMO.

Also enjoying the paint scheme. I like seeing the Legion in a different scheme than the studio one.

    Good job!

In my mind, "How exactly I'm going to paint my legion army," has been a question without answer, your color choice is brilliant. Your brushwork fantastic.

It has given me just the right inspiration and a great idea on how to paint my Legion models. Thanks.

I won't be copying your scheme BTW but it will be similar, I hope.
    Trollbloods: 25/266, Circle: 146/374, Skorne: 27/35, Legion: 8/109, Minions 20/41
    Cygnar: 17/158, Protectorate: 0/57 , Khador: 0/71, Mercenaries: 136/255, Retribution: 0/148, Cryx: 0/19

The model you call a second shepherd is actually a Deathstalker, which will hopefully be more clear once finished.
The face is a clone of the shepherd's, using InstaMold and then greenstuff. I cannot recommend it enough, it's awesome!
(there is something called "blue stuff" that is probably the same, but blue)

Those are looking really nice, if your Dark Eldar are anything to go by, this army is going to be superb.

Nice!!! I love how your scheme makes the forsaken look more nude. Not in a weird sexual way, but it just really drives home the transformation they've been put through. Really unsettling!

    How did the tournament go?
