Default Plastic Warjack Upgrade Kits.....Why not the Stormclad?

So we have the plastic Warjack kit witch covers the Ironclad, Defender, and Cyclone
There is talk that there will be a release of an Avenger, Hammersmith and Centurion plastic kit as well. We also have upgrade blisters for the character jacks Gallant and Triumph.

Why wouldn't PP make an upgrade kit for the Stormclad to go with the plastic Warjack kit

I am not a fan of this model ( too small & looks like crap ) and I am currently placing an order for a mishmash of the Centurion / Hammersmith / and Stormclad for a conversion.....unless someone has heard a rumor about PP doing an upgrade kit, which would be sweet.

The stormclad I think is a bit too unique to be added to plastic jack upgrade kit. You would have to sand the shoulders to get the pauldrons on. Then there are the knee covers and the head plate. Maybe some day, we'll see

I get the impression that it's because the "Warjacks of Reknown" (these were before character jacks, the Kodiak, Stormclad, Guardian, and Seether used to be FA:2) have pretty thoroughly modified chassis from the standard variants: the kodiak has a different boiler and shoulders, the stormclad has a banner and shoulders, the guardian had the same (banner, shoulders), and the seether had a very different form (and, for the record, the Mangler used to be Magnus-only, FA:2, and is based on the Ironclad chassis? loosely).

I expected them to release the new character-jack style accessory set, but, apparently they aren't.

I think the big issue would be it's shoulder 'pads' might be difficult to properly align. It may happen eventually, but they are probably going to focus more on charactr jacks at the moment.

Right now, the cost of a metal model is about the same for a conversion kit and model anyway. I would probably put a conversion kit at ~12.00, so when the Stormclad hits about 48.00 then maybe we will see one.

I'm considering buying the metal parts off the store and coverting a plastic kit anyways; the normal pose for the stormclad is garbage

Knowing that PP will not make an upgrade kit or are planning to do so in the near future makes me want to go ahead with my parts order to make my own. $38.00 is roughly the cost of the model itself.

    Thanks for the replies guys

I took a similar approach. Worked out pretty well!

With a few strategic cuts with a jeweler's saw, and some putty, you can make a pretty dynamic Stormclad:

Ooh, I like that! The head is a lot better than the original too.

Sometimes with a very stoic looking model, you can alter it slightly to turn it from plain to menacing. All I did with mine is tilt the head so that its looking right, then cut off the arm sockets and reposition the arms to fit the pose I wanted. Post the body so that the head is facing forwards and there you have it.

All nice Stormclads. Does Lexington have a tutorial/build explaination for his plastic Stormclad?

NVM. Just found his thread on it.

Some might complain about the name change to our Stormblade Infantry Captain solo being a nerf but Khadors Iron Fang solo got nerfed so bad he defected to a different faction.
