Default Seattle 25pt Steamroller @ Card Kingdom -- Sat, Aug 13th

    Card Kingdom
    25pt Steamroller Tourney
    Sat, August 13th, 10AM

    5105 Leary Ave NW
    Seattle, WA

    Entry Fee:
    $10

    Prizes:
    • Official Steamroller Coins (if 8+ people show up, which is expected)
    • 1st Place Bonus Prize
    • Best Sportsman (Player elected)
    • Best Painted (Player Elected)

Standard Steamroller rules apply. Bring one or two 25 point list(s) with you to the tourney, no proxying of models will be allowed. Both lists must be from the same faction. You are not required to run both lists. Turns will be 8 minutes plus a single 4 minute extension once per game.

Payment must be made day of the tourney to Card Kingdom.

Please post in this thread if you are planning on attending. If we overflow 12 interested people, I'll start a wait list.

    Players:
    1) Seldior
    2) Corbeau
    3) Rivenwyrm
    4) Nuclear
    5) Justin
    6) Luke
    7) Adam
    8)
    9)
    10)
    11)
    12)

If you haven't had a chance to check out Card Kingdom yet, I strongly suggest it. They have a number of geek chic tables that are wonderful to play on as well as a bar/cafe attached to the store. We're just getting the tourney scene off the ground here, it's a new shop, so if this goes well it's very likely we'll expand the tourney offerings in the future.

Ugh. I'd love to come, but I'm swamped with tons of work between now and PAX, so I'll have to catch the next one.

I will be there, along with my friend Justin.

Question- will we be playing on normal 4x4? If so, I assume you have 2 extra tables in addition to the normal 4?

Also, I can bring 4 forest bases (no trees for them, each is about 6" diameter), and a few walls, if you want some more diverse terrain.

Usually about 6~8 hours, depending on:
    A) number of competitors
    B) Break time length
    C) Rules used (timed turns vs. timed games, point levels, etc.)

But this is also is heavily influenced by how on-the-ball the venue and organizers are. I'd say it can swing from 0.8x to 1.5x of that base time depending on factors like: venue opening on time or not; organizers setting up tables beforehand or not; organizers providing clocks, etc., or not; organizers providing Steamroller / tourney-specific rules printouts or not; organizers maintaining the same tournament format from start to finish or not...

And yes, I've been to tournaments where one or several of these things came down on the "not" side.

Still working with the venue on getting turn timers at each table. But I've got the printouts for the scenarios made, and we'll be getting started right on time (I hope). If we only have 8 people show up, we're looking at 3 matches of 60-70 minutes with probably about 30 minutes between matches. So that's 4 hours (my guess is done by 4pm if we start at 11, and people arrive by 10). If more than 8 people show up we'll do a fourth match which will probably put us somewhere in the 5-6:00 pm range.

I'd like to do it; Card Kingdom is a cool place and I enjoy hanging out there. But GenCon has not been kind to me, and I doubt I'll be healthy again by tomorrow morning.

Indeed. The goal is to have a tourney there on the second Saturday of every month. Eric is assembling info about the September tourney at the moment.

Some of us do not possess such technology.

I will, however, finally be bringing 3" templates for my Mohsar.

Was great to play my first tourney with you guys. Was great fun! The Llaelese resistance will keep going!!!

Can't wait for next months tourney!

(P.S. I know There was discussion on making this 35 next month, would definitely be in favor of that if you were polling. No pressure, can definitely do either.)
