Seems a lot of these threads are popping up lately, wonder if it has anything to do with our Factions placement at GenCon?

For me it was simply the look of the warbeast is why i first started with them in MK1. Now that they are more viable in MK2 keeps me very much intrigued.

The fluff behind them is another draw.

Playwise, i find simplicity in their application easier to wrap my head around.

...and since i don't want to break the trend of mentioning this in these threads, but Elephants in Samurai Armor... end of story.

I think a good starter then would be one of the Makedas. Likely pMak as she is good at boosting troops and beast. You can get both of their tacticas from various sources in these forums and the internet.

Xerxis, while prefering troops isnt a slouch at handling his beasties either and what i like best about him is his simplistic approach.

And just some out of the box thinking for you and perhaps a lil twist to what you are asking would be eMorg as he doesnt care for either troops or beast, with exception to Paingivers and the Brute. But he is tricky to use and is typically not a good first caster to learn with unless you have a good understanding of the game.

This is exactly why I love playing him, I love the feeling of playing a cast sooooo close to the front line who is so vulnerable but not at the same time. and even with only 3 spells he has the tools be one of the scariest warlocks in the game as far as being the assassinator.

Yes it is quite a rewarding experience when you can pull off some amazing assassination kill.

Well why did I chose Skorne? My first faction is Cygnar and I wanted to play Hordes because it was different. Skorne was also the first faction book to come out which belive it or not did influence me but the biggest reason is just how different it is from Cygnar. I als liked the look of the models esp the Immprtals and the AG's

I already played Retribution and I wanted to start a Hordes army. Trolls/Circle had little appeal to me, so I had to choose between Legion and Skorne also.

I felt that Skorne had less in common with Retribution than Legion did. Plus, I'm a mild sexist so all those girl casters annoyed me.

Sometimes I find myself looking longingly at eThag, but overall I am happy with my choice.
