Dr. A 50 pts Tier 4

Hey fello pig players I decided to post an Arkadius list that I have had some recent success with for advice and/or comments. As stated in the title this list is Tier 4 at 50 pts.

Warhog X4
Gun Boar X2
Targ
Rorsh and Brine
Min Bone Grinders
Min Brigands

This list is all about the heavy hogs and Rorsh and Brine. Been running the brigands on one flank to serve as disturbance. Rorsh and Brine have deployed on the flank as well to take full advantage of Diversionary tactic and the extra threat range it provides Brine with. The Hogs are in the middle with a Gun Boar on either side of the wall. Doc, Targ, and Grinders are all behind the Hog wall. I look for a good Crippling Grasp target early on then upkeep it the rest of the time while also spamming Forced Evolution. Psycho Surgery is an amazing spell to keep the Hogs around and fully functioning until completely destroyed. The Gun Boars are clearing charge lanes and have been surprisingly good at it. Early game Targ is giving a Boar an extra, usually wandering, AOE shot, while later on giving one of the Hogs the killing blow. Grinders are there to give me a 10" Crippling Grasp early and cast massacre late. The Hogs do all the rest of the work.

So far, four games, four wins. This all coming after an abysmal first two games with a different Dr. A list that left me with a bad taste. The match-ups have all been Hordes armies so far. Twice against Circle running Cassius, one against Legion with their new caster, and once against Trolls with EMadrak. Thoughts??

At this level I think I'd like to get some additional troops in there to help with enemy infantry. The Gunboars do this to an extent of course but I think 6 beasts is more than Arkadius can run comfortably without any Fury-removal abilities in faction.

So, I'd probably look at dropping 1-2 beasts (probably the Gunboars) in return for adding more troops. I played a Tier 4 Arkadius list at Gencon with two units of Slaughterhousers that seemed to work out fairly well and kept the doc's Fury load to a reasonable level.

I was pretty much using his feat as pseudo-fury management tactic. Not the best idea I know. I will take a look at revamping this slightly.

Its pretty awesome. Every game my AoE's have been amazing and my opponents just have difficulty killing my hogs.

If you have any good tactics for the Razorback crew please let me know, because I am having a hell of a time figuring out what to do with it.

Normally I just AD them dug in and they sit there bombarding the enemy army. Costs too much to move them unless they can move into natural cover.

ditto. run first turn if im playing Dr A. move and dig in if im playing thornfall. shoot at stuff...victory

Your lists seem good. I'm just glad I never gave in and bought a 4th War Hog. I also don't have a 2nd Gun Boar.
I really like Brigands too. Not as much with Dr. A of course.
