Thinking both lists look pretty solid and should play well.

If I was to make adjustments:

-Carver, I'd ditch the second or both units of Slaughterhousers. Just too many troops for my personal tastes clogging up the board and blocking charges for the Heavy hitters. I'd add a second Razorback, I've had real good results setting them up Dug in letting them shoot from that position all game long. With Targ pumping up the Gun Boar that's a nice 4-5 AOE's a turn. Adding in R&B if dropping both Units of Housers is always a good choice or a Max Unit of Grinders ifonly going for one. The Grinder's get little respect, so I run them up field to soak up attacks, block charge lanes, solo hunt, or charge something fun.

-Doc, I'd drop the two Razorbacks. Without advance deploy they loose too much of their appeal for me. Likely the battle lines will be farther forward and target selection will suffer. Maybe plug that second unit of Houser's in here to bump up the model count?

    Just my thoughts,

    WatchGeorgeRock,

BMMD-Thats a lot of models that potentially have tough which I think is really excellent. Plus all Farrow Units will have AD. If you have a unit of Brigands Slaughterhousers go with each WH I think you'll do good, you'll have a great combined arms approach. The key is to get those Brigands dug in and go with the tough & fearless option for the tough and they'll ride out the storm. In my 35 pt BMMD I run two min units of Brigands and they do well. The good thing also is you can put the Slaughterhousers on the flanks as they always have fearless. Also if you run your turn where the Brigands fire first then have the Slaughterhousers kill those targets hit to leave lanes for your WHs to get through. I don't play to much Thornwood Alliance, I usually stick to the two theme lists but I'd say that this one is solid!.

Dr. A.-I agree with Asp about the razorbacks, I'd dump em and take another unit of Slaughterhousers for the 6 pts you get back. Melee with this army will be devastating to say the least if you went that option. Your first army is pretty shooty. With four heavies and a light running around you really won't have a lot to shoot at once things get engaged so you might as well have the extra SH unit to provide clean up so your WHs & Brine don't get bogged down on the wrong target.

I too like Carver’s Golden Horde Tier. However, 35 points seems to be the sweet spot for it after that the trade off’s swing to the other direction. With the Tier at that level your basically trading advance deploy on one unit for advance move on the battle group and a couple points saved on the Brigands. At 50 you likely have 4+ units and I’d rather have the advance deploy on the additional units, the Battle group can basically run/charge to make up the ground.

Carver - If you are going to be dealing with timed turns all those brigands might give you a headache. I like the idea of having R&B at 50pts. I'd min the brigands before dropping both units of housers (I love me some housers). Taking that (and others) advice what about . . ?

    Caver
    War Hog
    War Hog
    Gun Boar
    Targ

    Rorsch and Brine

    min Brigands
    min Brigands
    Razorback
    Razorback
    Slaughterhousers

Saxon Orrik or min Grinders to taste

I second Asp completely on the advice for the other list. If any of your War Hogs die the Slaughterhousers should be able to "finisher" things off.

The reasoning behind the 2 razorbacks on Dr A - and it works well with the 10 games ive played with that list - is to handle mass infantry armys and stealth. I love AOE's. The only thing I hate about AOE's are their time sync and how much your opponent wants to discuss who gets hit. Those Razorbacks seem to work really well for me.

Ive been playing pigs since they were released and I do appreciate everyones comments.
