    Default Journeyman League Help

Hi guys, I'm brand new to tabletop gaming. I decided to pick up legion and play in the slow grow league my local shop is doing. Since i'm brand new i'm still learning things and was wondering if you guys could look over my slow grow list. If i could get critiques and any better recommendations that would be awesome.

For those that don't know format is
    Week 1 - Warpack
    Week 2 - 15pts must include warpack
    Week 3 - 25pts must include warpack
Week 4 - 25pts must include warpack but can swap caster
Week 5 - 35pts must include warpack but can swap caster
    Week 6 - 35pts open.

    Week 1
    Battle box - 13 pts

    Week 2 - 15 pts
    pLyl -6
    Carn +11
    4 X Shredder +8
    Foresaken +2

    Week 3 - 25pts
    pLyl -6
    Carn +11
    4 X Shredder +8
    Shepherd + 1
    Foresaken +2
    Striders +UA +9

    Week 4 - 25pts
Same as week 3 if I stay with Plyl

    Week 5 35 pts
    pLyl -6
    Carn +11
    4 X Shredder +8
    Scythaen +9
    2 X Shepherd +2
    Striders +UA +9
    Foresaken +2

    Week 6 -35 pts
    pLyl -6
    Typhon + 12
    2 X Seraph +16
    Shredder +2

    Either
    (Annyssa +4
    2 X SDS +4
    or
    mn Hex Hunters +5
    Bayal +3)
    Shepherd +1
    Foresaken +2

The only other thing would be I wouldn't mind switching to pThag or eThag as I love both those models. Only thing is I kinda wanna learn eLyl in and out before swapping since I'm brand new. And I'm not sure if the models I buy in weeks 1-3 would work well with Thag.

    Thanks guys for helping.

Week 3-5: I personally would bring hex hunters instead of striders. With parasite their hex bolts are pow 16 which can seriously dent or even kill heavies. You then have 1 extra point for a shepherd.

Week 6: First off you need fury management, so dont go with annyssa + 2DS. At 5 fury pLylyth needs loads of help with her beasts. I find double seraph to be a little redundant, as their primay benefit is the animus. From the models you listed I would bring:
    Typhon
    Seraph
    Scythean
    Shredder
    min HH
    Shepherd
    Forsaken
    Deathstalker

The scythean and pLylyth are great for each other. On the feat turn you are very likely to get off the chain attack, and you dont have to boost the hit on the extra targets. With parasite and wichmark you are pumping out 7 PS 20 attacks with 1 boosted from the charge, which will demolish almost any heavy in one turn with fury to spare.

Cool thank you for the advice. I am definitely leaning towards getting HH's instead of Striders, I like there models a little better and think there playstyle would suit me more.

Now my other factor is if I want to switch casters, I'm deciding between pTHag, Vayl, and eThag in that order.

Caster is mostly determined by prefered playstyle.

pThag: He was my first caster, and he is fairly straightforward. His focus is onimproving the resilience of his force with a defensive playstyle. A carnivean is a must for him so he can spread around spiny growth.

eThag is more agressive with the posability of selective hit and run. His feat lets each beast move and make and attack, which means that they could just step back after killing their targets. He works well with multiple shredder because they maintain their melee buffs from rabid durring the feat attack.

Vayl is curently me favorite caster, but is also the most tricky to use correctly. She brings strong speed, damage, and hit buffs alowing for a powerful alpha strike and fall back. Typhon is an auto innclude at any point cost for her due to the power of their combined assassination potential.
