Default The Extremoth - now with soundtrack!

It was suggested that I re-post the project log I did for my Extreme Juggernaut -> Behemoth conversion, so here are the pics. Unless people actually ask for it, I'm not going to bother going through the step-by-step commentary again. Instead, here's a link to a short video:

I was thinking, this looks like a neat conversion. Then I saw the painted pics and literally went "Ohhhhhhhhh!!!" I normally don't say anything about a pic out loud either.

This is a Behemoth worthy of the name!

    Dude, that looks FREAKING AWESOME!!!!

I follwed the building but I missed it all painted up and it really is a seemless conversion. A big improvement over the original.

    Great!!! Absolutely Great!!!

You toke a model i disklike (the juggy EX) and converted it in an other model i dislike (the behemoth). And i love it.

Now i have to find to find a way to put 100€ aside. Hm... quit smoking?

Are that Juggernaut and the Behemoth fist-bumping in the last picture?

Anyways, this is a really nice conversion, when you look at the finished product, you can't even see it was converted from something else. A+ in my book.

Only thing that surprised me is that the Ex-Behemoth isn't that much bigger than the normal Behemoth. I thought it would be, well, bulkier...

This is probably the #1 best use of the eJuggy sculpt. On thing about the side-by-side comparison of the Behemoths: the smokestacks on the Extremoth look comparatively skinny.

Fantastic! I've always wondered how a conversion of this sort would go. You've pulled it off nicely. Good job!

Yup. This was awesome on the old forums, and it's still awesome now.

Seriously, this sets the standard for all future extreme-whatever conversions.

WOW is all I can say, is it a sin that I want to make my eJuggy to Beast-09? xD Awesome job i see on the pics, and it looks much better than the original Behemoth

I seem to be in the minority with my opinion that the Extreme Juggernaut is pimp, but this is just amazing. Good job!

Wow, that looks fantastic! I've been wanting to do more conversions with my army, and this just raised the bar.

Personally, I think what you've done here is how the Behemoth should have looked in the first place. The whole lower body from the eJugger looks more suitable than the original lower body and the angular upper body looks a lot more durable and chunky. Good idea well executed

Good conversion, but I believe the chasis and dynamism of the original Behemoth is superior. The paint job is a little flat as well.

I thought about this concept when the XJugger came out but I'm not a Khador collector so there wasn't much point in spending that much cash on it.

I'm happy to see it does indeed look like a proper Behemoth and I think fits the jack's concept amazingly well. You pulled a very very clean and nice conversion with an equally great paint job, bravo!

Just brilliant. I have every intention of stealing your idea, or paying somebody else to steal it. Commissions?

Thank you, everyone, for the comments! It means a lot, as this was kind of a big project and I know not everyone is a fan of my Khador scheme (at least, on the forum - in person it's much better received). I thought I'd take a moment to address some specific posts....

Is there something particular you don't like about it? I'm all for constructive criticism, but that's not it. Also I'm not sure what you mean about the head. If you mean it matches the Behemoth's head well, then of course it does, because it IS the Behemoth's head.

You say "dynamism," I say "stupid dancin' pose." To each his own. I also disagree on the paint job, but of course I would.

I'd totally do this again, and in fact if I did I'd probably do it slightly better and put a greenstuff mold of a Khador anvil (probably the one from MoW Kovnik's shield because it's fancy) on the top of the hull. It just wouldn't be cheap - that's $80 (US) in parts alone!

And I don't know how well it'd survive being shipped Down Under - but hey, I just noticed you're currently in Canada. That's a lot closer. PM me if you're serious about a commission, because I could sure use the money right now.

Ah but I already have an X-juggy and a standard Behemoth so I can supply all the parts, and I am in Canada until late 2011. Plus, I would have you ship it partially assembled since I'll still need to paint it.

Well, that'd be pretty easy then, especially if you're gonna paint it yourself. Send me a PM if you want to talk details.

The only thing I can honestly find that I'd say could be better would be the rockets on his wrists. They seem to be disproportionate to the size/epicness of the model. Other than that a brilliant conversion, and I enjoy the simplicity of your paint scheme.

If I had to complain, it would be for the missing sculpted Khador symbol.

I've never tried it, but I guess that's what press molds are for.

Really nice conversion. IMO the perfect mix would be the torso of the original behemoth with the arms and legs of your conversion. The extreme torso seems a little less detailed.

Yeah, that's the main thing I would do differently if I were doing it again. I was in such a rush to get it done that it didn't occur to me to add the anvil until it was too late.

Sorry if this seems like an indulgence in thread necromancy... but I have to say that is some amazing work! Takes the Behemoth model back to the Escalation artwork. A good use of the 'error in scale' on the X-sculpt.

Glad you like it! I didn't want to use the XJug as a Juggernaut for just that reason - the scale being so drastically different for an robot-like thing that doesn't grow like a warbeast might - but I figured the Behemoth was SUPPOSED to be huge, so it'd be a good fit. I've been pleased with it, and it always serves as a conversation piece when I take it to an event where people haven't already seen it.

Totally stole this idea already. It was a major hit at the LGS. Thanks CG, I gave some credit due where it was needed!

I hereby nominate CG to be president of the Extremoth owner's club.

Did you have the original sculpt as well, and if so, what did you do with it?

I promise to execute the duties of my office with honor and dignity.

And no, I didn't have the original sculpt. I disliked it, but didn't want to do the amount of work necessary to "fix" it, so I never spent the money on it.

I'm one of those people who, if a model's sculpt sucks, will refuse to use it, even if the rules are awesomesauce. That's mainly what's been keeping me from using the Behemoth.... the stupid dancin pose, as you put it!

But this conversion is superior and awesome that if I ever did want to field the Behemoth, I'd happily buy the spare parts and steal your idea. Thanks for sharing!

Great job on the conversion! The positioning of those rails with the gun mounts is probably the thing I dislike the most about the original version (envisioning the 'jack on the battlefield with the guns moving all over the place somehow makes my head spin). Now the 'jack looks like a bad-a** walking Howitzer.
