    Default [Pink Necrofactory] Ongoing thread

    In this thread:

Love the model, kept me locked at the painting table tonight (so it's fresh from the brush!), but boy I wish they did something about those mold lines. And the helljack kit I just picked is even worse.

The tail is some sort of ongoing theme lately in my work. I think necromechanical tails are cool. I guess.

Anyway check also my recent Madelyn count-as, I made good progress these last days so this should be a full month of pinkness!

Damn! That's sweet with the tail and the vibrant colors.

I think it's from GW's pain engine model. I mean, I hate them for EVERYTHING they do, but they do make great models to be used for conversions.

Well, I think I should turn this into an ongoing thread, since I actually get lots of things painted lately. Today's update : Orin Midwinter. Any way of editing topic titles by the way?

I have officially painted all of my Mercenary solos. Rejoice.

Cool, found them on eBay, are they the tentacle arms or the tentacle pod bits? Not sure of the scale.

I wouldn't know about "pods". Every tentacle on the sprue is the same scale as far as I'm aware. The mechanical tail is the only part that is clearly too big for Warmachine models.

Some army shots I did today. Bad lighting but you get the idea. On a totally unrelated note, whom should I write to to change the title of this thread to "[Pink Necrofactory] Ongoing Thread" ?

That is an impressive army. I love the Termy conversion. Also i might steal the tail idea that you did on Scavvy.

I read every thread you post and always think your work is top notch. Seeing the whole army together makes it even more impressive. Well Done!

You should do two or three pics of each model with rotations (at least casters, solos and Jacks)... Sorry to say this but your paint scheme is one of the more popular to show... your conversions are also pretty cool. You will be getting requests for them if you don't...

Your painting is magnificent, but your basing doesn't seem to really fit. I challenge you to take it to the next level with appropriately pink-suitable bases!

Actually, I think the more normal/muted bases help counter-point the Hot Pink paint job...

Most of the Pink schemes I have seen include the basing, and just end up garish...

This, on the other hand, is a nice, clean, well executed pink... though I'm not feeling those two banners...

wow when i saw the chicken up top my first thought was... bubblegum..
my second was i wonder what a GIANT force would look like painted like that... so then i scroll down and wow.. that's pink.. i agree the darker bases work good lending a contrast to the striking brightness of the pink...

oh maybe i missed it.. but what is the troll axer conversion used as?

I'd assume that's for Gerlak Slaughterborn.

Funny this would get necroed right now, I am currently painting up my first Nightwretch with a tail that I stole the idea from this thread. Painting that tail is . . . painful.

I have to step in and comment on this one as well...

    first

WOW - the gerlak conversion is just amazing.

and second, what the hell!?!? I see a 4 legged bonejack that looks awesome!

Please can I have an explanation and a close up?

It looks like the top half of Darragh Wrathe.

This is indeed a four-legged Darragh Wrathe.

I hope to update this thread with some new models this summer.

Yeay, update! First mini up since my son's birth. It's a Skarre 1 reboot based on Lelith Hesperax (Dark Eldar).

I was greatly underwhelmed by the resculpt of Skarre, and when the new Dark Eldar line launched I immediately thought that Lelith was a fantastic choice, with an interesting pose and realistic proportions (a bit sad about the armored thong though, I don't think melee fighters would favor this as a garment). So, with a tiny bit of conversion I now have a new shiny Skarre that's in my opinion far closer to the fighting goddess she embodies than the stock model.

Just a little update to get myself going: Satyxis Raiders from DE Wyches.

These are test models and I'm slowly getting back into painting, but hey, quite happy nonetheless.

3 test-conversions from Hex Hunters to Nyss Hunters:

Dais holds all rights to this concept, I just expanded upon his idea and added the actual claymores. Lots of trouble to pin but well worth it I guess. The blue on the blades is kind of meh, but I'm slowly getting back to painting regularly and I probably just used the wrong brush size

    Agh! My eyes! They bleed!

But seriously, awesome job. I'm also glad to see I'm not the only person that has taken to using lots of GW models for conversion work.

A lot of updates lately, beginning with the second fraction of my Dark Eldar Wyches-turned-Raiders squad:

I used the actual whip on the leader only for ease of identification.
