This thread is to give some ideas to the community from my experiences.

Game 1 - Maelok vs pKraye

    Kraye
    2x Hunters
    1x Journeyman
    Full Precursor
    Heavy with 2 miniguns
    Stormsmith
    ATGM+UA
    Black 13th?

This guy wasn't confident with his list, so I played on that. Sent the solos up the right flank past the gunmages, and left WE+SJ to snack on them.
The GMP's ran up the middle and sat there as tough as nails (Love it). He managed to get a long range charge off on Maelok with the stormsmith (something like 16"), but he fluffed some and couldn't get through Maeloks armour. The wrastler and spitter dealt with that quickly and the solos charged Kraye. The GMP charged the precursors, a snapper charging the black 13th. GMP wiped out the precursors (they failed terror), Snapper tied up the 13th. Croak hit for a few points, Totem hunter did a few more, thrullg didn't make it but locked down his spell casting (he was on 2-3 left).
His next turn he tried to move some of the guys on Kraye, but missed or didn't do enough.
That was game. I rolled all of the attacks in my next and splatted him.

    Comments:
In this game, the GMP just stood there and looked scary, he didn't engage them and kept moving away from them. My goal was to push his lines back to the point where I could use the feat to charge through, but he didn't really stop me. So I just took the kill whilst it was there..

Game 2 - Calaban vs pDenny
This was a VERY inf heavy force.

    pDenny
    Tartarus + Banes
    Satyxis + UA + Solos
    Unit of mechthralls
    2x Spray chickens
    Nyss hunters

This was a tough matchup as we were playing flags. I committed right with the option to head left if it disappeared.
He swarmed the table and I found that I couldn't move. It's a pretty nasty trick to put a single model in combat with the unit so they can't move after you've dealt with it. However I popped Calabans feat and charged a mechthrall, shot the rest of the unit with his gun, then proceeded to blow the rest of his fury on spells, I think it was heartstopper that I used, the one which you take control of the dead model for one melee swing. With so many models around I had a pretty good supply of fury, I'd cast the spell for 2, get 1 fury back for killing it, and another for the other model it killed. This kept it going for a while, eventually I'd missed a few times and ran out of fury, so the rest of the army charged and once I had enough for another cast, I'd do it again.
After the feat turn, he had a few nyss, 3 or so banes and denny left. I was soo close to getting her, but then remembered the flags. It was too late.
    He'd won on scenario.

    Nooo.....

    Next time

Game 3 - Calaban vs eSkarre
I really hate skarre and this scenario didn't make it better. Demolition.

    Wraith Engine
    Death Jack
    Satyxis
    2x Pistolwraiths
    Skarlock
    2x Chickens

We looked over the scenario and found that you had to move a box into an area where it explodes. Apparently you can score on the first turn as well.
He went first and charged and shot the box into the zone, scoring right off the bat.
I was a wowed, this was going to be tough. I threw a snapper into the zone to contest it and moved my box into the same zone, forgetting that his chicken was contesting it.... Argh...
Well that sucked, moving things up, I threw the spitter over his DJ and lined up Skarre, used rise from the wraster, and then moved closer and missed on the shot (Out of charge range). She had corruption on her anyways.
His turn he popped feat, and chose skarre, DJ, WE and another jack nearby, as well as the chicken on the obj. That really screwed my plans. The chicken moved up and killed my snapper.
And that was game... as it turns out, my GMP was just out of contesting. I should have checked it...

    Next time

Almost bagged me a Skarre win too...

(After coming off a losing streak with Cally, I went back to Maelok, hoping to feel better... )

Game 4 - Maelok vs pVayl

I don't know legion beasts much, but I'll give it a go.
    Typhon (3 headed)
    Scythean (one with huge blades)
    Shredder (little pointy one)
    One with 4 wings
    Unit of guys on mounts
    Spell slave
2x mutated guys with wings that hit you if you have fury on you.

He won first turn, and did all kinds of micromanagement, this goes here and that there and this moves because of that.
I didn't keep up too much, since it'd been a long day and I couldn't understand why somethings did what they did. He was short of time, so I basically just let him go and picked him up on things I knew about.
He moved everyone forward, the mounted unit on the right, beasts and everything else on the left.
I did the same, facing the beasts with my beasts, solos against his mounted unit.

The GMP at arm 22 is quite tough. They took charges and lost only 1 member, wounds all around, but only 1 death.
My only casualty early on, was Mr Thrullg. Which is ok.

I managed to charge his scythean, and the typhon, almost killing them both. The solos ran around behind the lines and began to line up on Vayl. I liked this, it meant that he now had a time limit to cause damage.

Her feat was a non-event as most things were engaged or didn't have anything else to do.
So I moved my guys into range and then popped Maeloks.

The totem hunter charged in, needing a 2 to hit.. :P He did 11 to her which severely hurt the scythean, the next attack killing it. Totem hunter then took a hit from the nearby shredder from a special rule.
My spitter charged, missing a few, but doing a big hit and killing the typhon through transfer.
    The GMP's then charged.
The rolling was tough, I called for an extension and rolled everything I had, she went down bit by bit. 1 here, 2 there, transfer that, take this. We got to the last 3 GM and I managed to roll a hit and a decent amount of damage. She was out of fury!
    Game to me!

I had a blast on this tourney, however I'm thinking of looking into some ambushers for some mind games.

    Can't wait for Maeloks Tier.

Good stuff! Thanks for the mini-recaps.

I've also had trouble with Calaban in tournaments, especially Steamroller. I tend to play him more beast-heavy (especially with WE&SJ) and I've felt like I don't have enough models to contest zones.

It's interesting to see the casters you chose against your opponents. I definitely would have played Maelok against Kraye because of the armor. Just have to watch out for those Hunters.

I probably would have taken Maelok against eSkarre. When she pops her feat, buff all your stuff and pop your feat to play the attrition game. Again Legion, I might have taken Calaban because of Parasite. If you can land a Parasite on a heavy early and bomb it with a Spitter or two, he'll be hurting. Vayl gets hurt badly if you can take out one of her heavies early.

Read Domolition closer. You need to control the box to score in it. So an enemy model must be within 4 inches of the box and you can't have any models there.

We made that mistake the first time that scenario came up. Game lasted 10 minutes.

    Nice write up!

Don't forget you can't shoot with Calaban after a charge even though he has ROF 2.
