Pfffff, I expected to see fully painted models already. ;P
Overtime at work => passed out after work => girlfriend over. PROGRESS DELAYED!
Sound like a bunch of lame excuses to me. Get Busy!!!![]()
Wow, I think this may be the first time on here that I've seen somebody paint their models before assembling. I don't even usually paint anything separate, unless it's like a shield blocking off a lot of the body or similar, as I find the touch up i have to do after assembling doesn't really save me much time. Seems to work good for you though, so have at it, and thanks for sharing.

But three lefts do.
To me it helps make sure everything gets primed, and since I do a lot of drybrushing it helps keep things a little cleaner. Also having everything painted, even parts that don't show, tickles the OCD part of my brain.![]()
Absolutely love your work man. The metal looks brilliant and I love the other colors added in for character. I used to paint all my model planes before assembly to, but my OCD is medicated now![]()
Agreed, the metal looks fantastic. Never seen a metallic WM army like this before. Very interested in seeing what comes next.
Looks great Bartlebad!! I personally like the gryphone sepia better than the devlin mud because it is not as dark, but your minis are looking great!! Can't wait to see your spin on Mags...
Hmmm... Paint little metal men? Or hang out with girlfriend? That's a tough call...

Honestly.............. all mercs models should automatically come with a pot of Devlin Mud! Great work so far.
Looks good! I like that scheme a lot.
I like the metal, but I think the green wash is bringing it down. It makes it look patchey and unfinished, when the rest of the metal looks solid. You might try thinning it down and glazing it with more layers for a smoother look.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go with Defenstrator on this, overall they look very nice with the exception of the green areas. I'm not really sure how you did them so I can't tell exactly what would improve them, but they could definitely use a little help. But I don't think it should be that difficult to tweak them a little, the rest of the work shows you have the skills. Thanks for sharing.

They're going to get washed and weathered once the mule is done. Probably with Badab black and devlan mud. Hopefully it looks better then. At this point they're to the level I need them to be to use them in our Journeyman League. How I'm doing the green is pig iron base coat with Ooo dark angels green ink glazed over.
Here's what that method looks like with red ink and weathering.

5 jacks in a week is impressive!
I make dice bags and paint/play with toy soldiers.
Love the white cape, any tips?

Looks great!
Started with Astronomican Grey Foundation paint as a base. Covered that with Menoth White Highlight. After that layered on 1:1 MWH with Morrow White, then 1:4 MWH to Morrow White. After that pure white, then a VERY light wash of Gryphonne Sepia with the smallest drop of the 1:4 white dropped in.
Cheers thanks![]()

Awesome looking stuff! Keep up the impressive work.
Very nice work, all around great stuff from the 'Jacks to the troops. The green looks much better with the wash. Funny the things that stand out to you when you're looking at stuff. I couldn't help notice that in your Riflemen squad all the identical sculpts all have the same identical hair color. Not that is any big deal or anything, I just found it funny that I actually even noticed it. Anyway, great stuff as I said, and hopefully you will keep us abreast of your progress on this force. Once again, thanks for sharing.

Oh pleeeeease tell me how to make those bronze metals. For some reason I absolutely LOVE the way those look. Pretty please?
I think I'd like to paint historical models if only the most popular ones weren't at such a small scale. Dystopian Wars really catches my eye.
Haha, those troopers get painted the same for the sake of efficiency during this speed painting season. If I dabble in Cygnar later and get another squad I might paint them all differently and mix up the units to make each one more individual.
The bronze is really easy. Blighted Gold in a solid layer over black primer, drybrush Citadel Dwarf Bronze, then a wash of Devlan Mud.
