My mistake in the Trollblood game was not checking his stuff. I didn't check his feat and I thought Borka was only Spd 5. Basically, I just wasn't quite engaged and was too focused on the scenario. Also, all Trolls look the same...

If I'd really focused, I could have:
    - Assassinated Borka with the Phoenix.
    - Had Discordia block the charge line.

Artificer wouldn't have helped, he rolled 6, 6, 5, would've hit Kae even with the Artificer.

Against the Skorne, I could've camped at the end if I'd enacted my after-game plan. Was just tired after a long day and was fully expecting to lose so was playing loose...

This thread is awesome, I just spent an hour or so reading all this entirely (I reflected a bit on the reports).

Seems this has not been updated for a while, why is that? Pease do more reports.

Thanks Calcifar, and for the compliment in the Force Field thread, I've been playing a few games recently and been prodded a couple of times to update. Not got any pictures of the last few but will try to get some on Friday (got a 50pt SR practice lined up vs Cryx.)

Take it that 50pt SR practice will be against Luke for SmogCon..? I'll be in Edinburgh once or twice before SC, possibly get a practice game in? Changed the list up from the one I sent to you, took too long to activate in 7 minutes!!

Good luck against the broken Cryx :-P

    Cheers,
    Dave

Sort of. I'm not going to make it to SmogCon (just not got any spare cash) but I think Luke will be using the practice for that. Let us know when you're down here and will get a game on!

Well thanks for the info on the Shyeel and Vyre myrmidon information.
(Debating on how I want my Retribution collection to grow.)
I also enjoyed your collection of battle stories and that was a good afternoon of laughs.
    Keep it up!

Turns out my opponent has backed out of our game, obviously afraid of the pointy ears! Sadly

It's not the pointy ears I worry about it's the x-ray vision + crossbow combination that keeps me up at night lol

Sorry for the delay folks. I was going to get it posted today, but my word processor decided to delete my thread. Grrrrrrrrrrr! Will get it rewritten soon. Grrr...

It's been over two months since I last updated and it's about time. So, without further ado...you asked for it!

    50pts vs Cryx
    Hardcore, Deathclock (38 minutes each)
Close Quarters, centre scenario (Killbox artifice)

    Cryx;
    Witch Coven of Garlghast
    - Egregore
    - Nightmare
    - Harrower
    - Scavenger
    - 2x Nightwretch
    Skarlock Thrall
    Warwitch Siren
    Mechanithralls (max)
    2x Necrosurgeon and Stitch Thralls
    Bile Thralls (min)
    Withershadow Combine

Pretty solid list, good balance between power and staying.

    Retribution;
    Kaelyssa
    - Phoenix
    - Manticore
    - Banshee (proxied by a Phoenix)
    - Chimera
    Sylys Wyshnalyrr
    2x Arcanists
2x Ghost Snipers (proxied by Invictors)
    Eiryss2 (proxied by Narn)
Lanyssa Ryssyl (proxied by Mage Hunter Assassin)
Mage Hunter Strike Force (max + UA)

My anti-Cryx tournament list. It was a tournament practice game and he knew this would be an uphill struggle.

    Rundown:
Cryx deployment, now with added crotch!
    Ret deployment. Significantly less crotch.
    - Nightmare preys the Banshee.
    - Kaelyssa and Eiryss tag-team the Harrower, ensuring it is out of the game for at least one round, though the MHSF disabled both arms thanks to its stationary status.
    - Covering Fire is used to disuade Mechanithralls from run-engaging and Kaelyssa feats first turn to deny charges.
    End of turn one.
    Round two rumble.
    - Coven's feat is not popped, surprisingly.
    - Scavenger was loaded up with the intention of charging Eiryss, forgetting the feat. With Infernal Machine, it is out by less than an inch.
    - Phoenix gets power boosted and finishes the Harrower with a charge as the Scavenger is slammed with an Arcantrik Bolt, leaving it (not quite) flapping in the breeze. The MHSF total it comfortably.
    - MHSF also kill off the Biles who had previously been given Occultation. Had the feat been popped and Occultation upkept, the Biles would likely have survived with at least one to purge.
    - Banshee aims with Phantom Hunter, punting a Stitch Thrall into the Necrosurgeon - no Sac Pawn for you, Higgins!
    - Coven's feat is popped, a turn late.
    - WSC ding up the Chimera but bad dice see no systems go down.
    Nightmare tramples dangerously close.
    - Nightmare tramples, hoping to catch Kaelyssa in his reach range, but is out by even less than the Scavenger.
    Nightmare beaten down.
    - Kaelyssa freezes Nightmare and the Banshee goes to town, finishing it with two focus to spare!
    - Chimera backs up and the Phoenix burns Admonia, the Siren and the Nightwretch. Manticore covers between the Phoenix and the other two Combine to disuade a charge.
    - WSC ding up the Phoenix and the Nightwretch loses all but one box to a free strike. It's over save the undead tears without the Cryxians having any solid hittyness anymore.
    - Chimera moves up and two Arcantrik Bolts take down a Witch.
    Witch gets Hounded.
    - Game is conceded.

    Thoughts:
    - as expected, Cryx had it rough, which I'm glad of (and not out of being a huge d*** or anything...) - my list is designed to absolutely screw with this sort of Cryx force and it worked admirably. My jacks were scratched but only superficially and though my MHSF were heavily engaged, it was going my way.
    - Banshee was solid, killing Nightmare and a Necrosurgeon comfortably. Necrosurgeon got killed by the cunning application of flying Stitch Thrall to face. Teehee.
    - All my jacks did well, despite not seemingly doing much. The Phoenix held the left perfectly with the Chimera's timely distraction and later it's contribution to zappy death. The Banshee, as above. The Manticore did nothing but Covering Fire, and I don't mind! This match up that was all that was needed, to stop or hinder enemy mobility and damn did it help!

Well, moving on to the less successful of the two games (I have another set of pictures waiting, but I may as well wait to see if I play WM/H on Wednesday; I'm getting back into 40k in the hopes 6th will be good and so going to play a little more of 5th) against Circle.

    Circle;
    Kaya2
    - Stalker (Fluffy)
    - Gnarlhorn Satyr (Goatman)
    - Pureblood (I forgot his name, sorry Becky!)
    Druids
    Skinwalkers (min)
    Shifting Stones

Tier 4 of her theme force, so; heavies get AD, Skinwalkers get Advance Move, +1 to starting roll and heavies are 1pt cheaper. Sigh. Take what you'd want anyway and get good stuff!

Already I'm on the back foot - eKaya is just horrific against Retribution; Stealth battlegroup means our guns are doing squat and her insane threat and retreat is just stupid.

    Retribution;
    Vyros
    - Discordia
    - Phoenix
    - Manticore
    Sylys Wyshnalyrr
    2x Arcanists
Lanyssa Ryssyl (proxied by Mage Hunter Assassin)
    MHSF (min + UA)

I'm glad I took Vyros; Mobility and Bird's Eye would help me get to similar threat range. But still, I was going to have to take the feat on the chin. Sigh.

    Rundown:
    Circle deployment.
    Ret deployment.
    Circle turn one.
    - Forced Evolution on the Stalker, because DEF 16 heavies are retarded...
    - Skinwalkers run to distract but, as I point out later, I had no other targets anyway.
Turn one smashing up the Skinwalkers.

    Stalker smacks the phoenix.

    - Stalker is catapulted forward, though she gets bad dice (two unboosted Dog Piles missed the Phoenix, needing 6's) the bugger still causes 30 boxes after Bounding gets it the range. Had Dog Pile connected, the extra claw attack likely would have finished it.
    Stalker runs away.
    - Feat was popped, of course, and Fluffy bounces back.
    Feat turn flailing.
    - Vyros responds with his feat and his MHSF mostly fail. Hot three focus, I think. The disparity in feat power is really f***ing annoying here. I get three focus, you get unmolested attacks for two turns? Screw you PP!
    - Discordia tries to beat up Laris, but misses one boosted attack.
    - Cpt. Hammer fails his repair, because Warbeasts can go die in a hole. Stupid healing mechanism...
    - No, seriously, go die in a hole.
    Stalker up.
    - Circle plays cagey (because they're totally squishy? What, with DEF 16?!) and berserks a few MHSF before sprinting away.
    - I seriously f*** up, moving my more distant Arcanist before Cpt. Hammer, thus losing the power boost for the Phoenix (so it could run) though it does manage to kill Laris, letting Discordia provide flanking for Vyros.
    Stalker down.
    - Miss on the charge attack (of course!) and four focus sees the Stalker down to the exact box. Bleh. DEF 16 can suck my gigantic Elven codpiece...
    Gnarlhorn smash!
    - Goatman charges Vyros and kills him with his last attack.

    Thoughts:
    - Healing vs Repair; Hordes can f*** the f*** off!
    - Kaya's feat can join it.
    - So can DEF 16 heavy, freaking Warbeasts!!
    - Bleh.

    - My jacks did as well as I could ask. MHSF flailing on feat turn didn't help.
    - My ****-up with the Arcanists didn't help either, but it sort of worked out. I couldn't let the Stalker keep bouncing around and Vyros was the only 'reliable' method of removing him. I just messed up a failed to get the Manticore in the way enough.

    - Did I mention Hordes complaints about fury management can also bugger off? No? Well they bloody well can!

Anyway... I shall be back in a few days with more... Tales Of Interest! You've seen it; you can't unsee it!

    Good write ups.

I think my coven list could have taken your ret tbh but I made a complete mess of turn 2 (as you pointed out). I'm going to blame it on the ominous ticking of the chess clock which I'm not used to lol.

I should have feated and I really don't know what I was thinking with the scavenger. Can't help but feel prey on the MHSF would have been better too.

I was quite shocked at how quickly my harrower melted.

Anyway a rematch must be had!

Some more battles then! First up, 35pts Caster Kill vs Ashlynn.

    Ashlynn
    - Mule
    - Vanguard
    Sylys
Sam MacHorne & the Devil Dogs (min)
    - Talon
    Aiyanna and Holt
    Dannon and Bull
    Harlen Versh
    Taryn di la Rovissi
    Rutger Shaw
Ragman (though iBodger doesn't list him as available to Highborn, can Ashlynn take him?)
(might have also had Eiryss, but I can't remember and I'm not sure if I see her in the back of one of the pictures.)

    Ossyan
    - Discordia
    - Phoenix
    - Manticore
    Sylys Wyshnalyrr
    2x Arcanists
    Halberdiers + UA (max)

Not really played against Mercs, so I wasn't certain on all of his things, and my list was not built around Ossyan's feat.

    Rundown:
    - The battlefield.
    - Retribution deployment.
    - Merc deployment.
    - Ossyan puts up Quicken on the Halberdiers and Chronomancer on himself.
    - End of Ret turn one.
    - Quicken goes on Ashlynn and Admonition on the Mule.
    - End of Merc turn one.
    - I cluster up around Discordia with Kinetic Field running, forgetting that the Mule has Critical Devastation...
    - Discordia sprays at Harlen but misses.
    - Intended to pop feat this turn defensively, but I forgot.
    End of Ret turn two.
    - Ashlynn feats and the Mule fires at Discordia, of course critically. Much throwing happens.
    Crit Devastation!
    - Aiyanna Kiss of Lyliss' Ossyan, who is currently at ARM 21 vs Ranged.
    - Harlen pumps four ridiculously high damage (1, 16; 2, 13; 3, 9; 4, 16 - just stupid high) Purgation shots into Ossyan and that was game.

    Thoughts:
    - My opponent rolled stupid good. He usually does. Then complains.
    - Forgetting my feat lost me the game, but we'll, it usually does!

Game two then! 35pts Caster Kill vs Darius.

    Darius
    - Hammersmith
    - Ironclad
    - Defender
    Squire
    Journeyman
    Gun Mage + UA
    3x Stormsmiths

Not sure if it's a typical Darius list, but it's definitely solid.

    Ravyn
    - Discordia
    - Phoenix
    - Manticore
    Sylys Wyshnalyrr
    2x Arcanists
    Narn

A very atypical Ravyn list and for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I get really pissed off when the Ret forum says that we can't run jack heavy. Secondly, I like to push myself and my models and lastly, it's entertaining.
    Rundown:
    - Ret deployment.
    - Cygnar deployment.
    - Ravyn snipes the Manticore, Discordia imprints and runs.
    - Arcane Shield on the Ironclad and Fortify on the Hammersmith. Defender shoots the Phoenix for 5.
    - End of round one.
    - Phoenix repairs 5, luckily. It runs round to the left to engage some ATGM and arcs an Eliminator, killing two ATGM and Ravyn takes half a step behind the Manticore.
    - Manticore pumps some damage onto the Hammersmith.
    - Narn takes down a Stormsmith and sprints at another, hoping Jr will fluff.
    - End of Ret turn two.
    - Jr doesn't.
    - Ironclad gets 3, then is craned forward and with Full Throttle charges the Phoenix. Terrible rolls see the Phoenix only take 22 damage.
    - Defender follows up by missing an Arcanist, as does an ATGM before a second pops him. A couple of thunderbolts push the Manticore an inch or two.
    - End of Cygnar turn two.
    - Phoenix burns an ATGM and sets the Ironclad aflame.
    - Feat, Manticore and Discordia put good damage on the Hammersmith and Veil of Mists hides Discordia from retaliation.
    - Ret turn three.
    - Ironclad spends a turn finishing the Phoenix.
    - Cygnar turn three.
    - Ravyn pulls her jacks back some and continues to focus fire, hoping to bring the Hammersmith down before Darius can feat, but its still up.
    - Ravyn casts Vortex of Destruction, expecting Darius to feat then rush in...
    - Chimera is power boosted and attempts to lock the Defender but is a gnat's ballhair out of melee range.
    - Ret turn four.
    - Darius fixes his jacks and the two rush into melee. The Defender pastes the Chimera.
    - Cygnar turn four.
    - Ravyn all-or-nothings; three to each jack and try to cripple both the Hammersmith and the Ironclad.
    - The Manticore flubs multiple attacks and Discordia leaves the Hammersmith will both right arm and cortex. Neither had Concentrated Power, since my Arcanists had both been popped.
    - Squish!
    - Hammersmith gets bodged and Chain Slams Discordia over Ravyn who gets smoothed by the Ironclad.

    Thoughts:
    - As strange as my list was, it was doing alright. Darius is probably the worst guy to face, since he soaks all of your ranged damage and then hits you hard.
    - I messes up with the Phoenix by forgetting that the crane is within, not completely within, letting the Ironclad get the charge.
    - As my opponent pointed out later, I should have pulled back further, using Veil to move quickly through the forest.
    - Jack heavy Ravyn can work, but there are quite a few good counters; Darius just soaks the damage and Stealth really hurts, but it's not impossible or terrible.

Game three is a three way, 16pt Caster Kill.

    Deneghra1
    - Slayer
    - 2x Deathripper
    - Defiles
    - Skarlock Thrall

    Siege
    - Defender
    - Charger
    Stormblades + UA

    Rahn
    - Phoenix
    - Manticore
    Sylys
    2x Arcanists

Cryx player was just getting into the game, but she isn't a walk over. Definitely got a solid grip on things. The Cygnaran is ok, but not going to win any tournaments, but he enjoys himself

    Rundown:
    - Cygnar goes first, moving somewhat cautiously forward.
    - Ret are second, the Manticore gets Polarity Shield and runs towards the Defender, the Phoenix in close support.
    - Cryx moves forward cautiously, letting us duke it out first.
    - End of round one.
    - Charger blows holes in the two bone chickens, though only disabled one cortex. Defender causes a good chunk of damage to the Manticore.
    - Manticore charges the Defender after the Phoenix is Telekinesis'd forward and burns two Stormblades, one of whom was blocking the charge.
    - Manticore leaves the Defender on two boxes, with only it's hammer left.
    - Ret turn two.
    - Cryx moves up and Crippling Grasp hits the Phoenix.
    - Cryx turn two.
    - Stormblades pummel the Phoenix easily. The Defender flails sadly at the Manticore. Siege feats, blows up one bonejack and the Charger blows the other before wrecking the arm of the Slayer.
    - Cygnar turn three.
    - Rahn supports the Manticore with Polarity Shield but does little. Arcanist charge and Chain Blast kills a couple of Blades. Defender goes down.
    - Ret turn three.
    - Slayer kills a Stormblade and the Skarlock venoms.
    - Cryx turn three.
    - Siege and Charger put holes in the Manticore, disabling an arm, but that's all. Siege sits on one focus.
    - An Arcanist runs at Siege, is given the gift of force-induced super speed and rugby tackles Siege to the ground.
    - Manticore squishes him easily.
    - Ret turn four.
    - Cryx waits patiently, then springs forward after the Stormblade finishes off the battered Manticore under Denny's feat. The arc node gets battered by Rahn but Denny hits with a Scourge and a boosted Venom followed by a Skarlock venom to put good damage on Rahn business a lacklustre boost sees him survive.
    - The last Stormblade moves in (Rahn had Polarity Shield) but flubs miserably.
    - Rahn Telekinesis'd himself out of melee and charges Denny. A boost slams her an inch, still in melee range, and Rahn finishes off the Cryxian lady.

    Thoughts:
    - Rahn is badass.

Anyway, hopefully have some more soon, needing to kick more Cryxian arse.

    Thanks for reading,
    Tom.

3 games, nice! Mercs are always tricky things. I am always trying to go for multiplayer games because it just sits on the most interesting set of games in which many strategies are poked. Do you attempt to team up with someone and back stab them when they least expect it? (Looking at you Magnus.) Or do you wage-war against everyone and everything? But the one thing that mostly upsets people is the time it takes to get back to your turn that you could easily have everyone on the table eliminate you for no real reason, or it just exhausts the players really quickly. Obviously I'm speaking about my meta, but it really looks like you guys had a nice, quick, fun game and see if people are willing to do 15 (did you guys really do 16 pts?) point games multiplayer and have some fun out of it.

Well, I've got some more stuff to blather on about, if anyone still reads my nonsense! Been awhile since I was taking part in a pre-campaign string of Inquisitor games, and will be dividing my attention over the next few weeks between a 40k Campaign and Warmachine. But, I shall endeavour to report what I do get up to!

Meant to get these up earlier. But meh. I'm not your report monkey!

    First up is a 20pt game vs Cryx;

    Witch Coven of Garlghast
    - Malice
    - Nightwretch
    Skarlock Thrall
    Blackbane's Ghost Raiders
    Pistol Wraith

    Garryth, Blade of Retribution
    - Discordia
    Sylys Wyshnalyrr
    1x Arcanist
    MHSF (min + UA)
    Narn
    MHA

It's been awhile since I have played with Garryth and figured I'd break him out again. Considering the enormous (relatively for the points) number of incorporeal Cryxians, it wouldn't hurt to have the magical guns! But I shan't get ahead of myself.

Didn't get any pictures (I forgot for this one!) so you'll just have to use your noggin. So quit your *****in' already...

    Rundown:
    - Cryx deploys first, Ghosts in the middle mostly, Malice on the right (my POV)
    - Garryth and Discordia central, MHSF left slightly and the two assassins right.
    - Ghosts move a million miles as does Malice with Infernal Machine.
    - MHSF cower without magic guns. Sissies.
    - Garryth feats and moves up behind an imprinted Discordia who is hoping to bait Malice. Garryth puts Mirage on himself.
    - Malice is hungry and tries to grab Discordia, but misses due to not being able to boost. Ghosts run engage a couple of MHSF.
    - Narn charges Malice for awesome damage but the MHA flubs her terror check. Discordia sidles up and pummels both of the Cryxian jacks into the ground.
    - Garryth runs at the Coven with three camped, hoping to stabbify them next turn.
    - Sylys, with his cunning little brain, shouts, "I have a magic reach weapon! Polka will never die!" He runs into the middle of the Blackbanes and engages all but B himself.
    - The Coven throw their volleyball at Garryth repeatedly and do about eight/nine damage or so - some from stabbing him! They feat. They did not get a Shadow Bind on Garryth, or they'd've run away to spike and slam him again.
    - Must stop with the volleyball...
    - Blackbanes stabbify Sylys and two MHSF. The cowards run away.
    - Garryth defends his side of the court with four boosted to hit melee attacks. He hits with one, needing tens (due to feat) and that one fails to kill. At three dice minus one.
    - GAAAAAAAAHHH!
    - Spike, punt, G-man down.

    Thoughts:
    - SERIOUSLY DICE F*** YOU!
    - MHSF are sissies...
    - Narn, however, is a badass.

Oh well. After Garryth's abysmal performance and demonstration that even assassins who have been running around for a century or two stabbifying filthy degenerates can be distracted by boooooooobs. So out came Ossyan, who has seen decidedly less boooooooobs.

    Caine1
    - Defender
    - Charger
    - Cyclone
    Squire
    Black Thirteenth
    Stormblades + 1 Gunner
    Alexia Ciannor and the Risen
    Taryn di la Rovissi

    Ossyan
    - Discordia
    - Gorgon
    Sylys Wyshnalyrr
    2x Arcanists
    Invictors (max + UA)
    MHSF (max + UA)

A more typical Ossyan list, as far as the forum is concerned. Though I'm still not a huge fan of so much infantry at 35. Maybe at 50.

    Rundown:
    - Ret deployment.
    - Cygnar deployment.
    - Ossyan chucks Quicken on to the Invictors and Admonition on Discordia. He hides behind a forest.
    - Ret turn one.
    - Defender gets Snipe and the Cyclone gets Blur. A Thrall Warrior is created and kills a Mage Hunter.
    - Cygnar turn one.
    - Ossyan has a cunning plan and puts Shatter Storm on the MHSF after the Invictors meander up, pumping shots into the Charger and some Stormblades.
    - MHSF finish the Charger (and I forgot about the RFP, which would've stopped the wreckage from appearing) and kill off a few Risen. A lucky Shatter Storm blast kills off Taryn, though one MHSF is killed by another.
    - Ret turn two.
    - The Risen shuffle about and the Stormblades meander. Ryan Mage Storms, something I'd forgotten about, but doesn't slaughter the huge clump of Invictors.
    - Caine decides he wants to shoot things, so walks up and kills an Invictor, making it three killed so far (1 to Defender first turn, then 1 to a Stormblade turn two and 1 from Caine.)
    - He doesn't have the focus left to Teleport away.
    - Cygnar turn two.
    - MHSF shuffle out of the way, as much as they can. Ossyan walks up, feats and misses Caine.
    - Invictors form up, two in range to aim, and Caine goes down on the third CRA - first hit took him to one box, then the second missed.
    - Flying V - of Death!

    Thoughts:
    - Ossyan has a stupid gun - I can't run one of my things forward (because of some retarded IFF?!) and if I killed the model I shoot, the AOE disappears. I can't help but feel that if any other faction got this gun that it would trigger on anything, not just an enemy model. I mean really...

    - Turn two I felt like I left Ossyan open to the Defender on the hill. Considering he was camping a couple of focus and was under Discordia's bubble, I probably could have taken the hit. Though both myself and Allan forgot how elevation works, even though a mate of mine has explained it to me several times...

    - Quicken on the Invictors was awesome. Improved threat was great, especially on the first turn run, and the extra defence made Caine miss once and several Stormblades too.

    - I still felt very vulnerable with Ossyan, but considering how little focus he gave out (and subsequently, how much he was camping) he probably could be a bit more up front.

    - His feat is pretty brutal. I only put out three shots, and it still felt nasty as hell. I wanted to see what MHSF under it would do to the Cyclone/Defender, but they broke from the Mage Storm the turn before. Ah well.

I think that's my brain wrung dry. Probably awhile ago... Anyway, enjoy, and I look forward to any critique/analysis/comments about the promiscuity of my mother/etc.

    Thanks for reading,
    Tom.

Hah, thanks AJ. I try to please

Still updating, just been playing less recently due to Inquisitor/40k Campaign. Trying to organise non-LGS non-non-WM games.

Sorry I've been out of the loop since September - glad to see you're still representin' the Angry Elves in Edinburgh! I've been reasonably busy meself in Dublin (but only since the New Year - had to bring CLOTHES instead first semester...).

    Keep up the good work,

MOAR REPORTS! This week, I will be mostly reporting; Cryxian bastards. Mostly because the 40k Campaign at my local club is eating up most of my gaming time - curse your black hearts GW!

On the plus side, having a mate who has a board and is willing to put up with my sorry Elven arse means Warmachine! So, here are two more battles against stupid broken feat undead stupid broken f***bags... I mean Cryxian warcasters, of course. Pictures are a little dark, sorry.

    Game 1;
    35pts, Sacrifice (SR2012, #18)
    vs Skarre1

    Skarre1
    - Defiler
    - Helldiver
    Skarlock Thrall
    Mechanithralls (max)
    2x Necrosurgeon and Stitch Thralls
    Soulhunters (max)
    Satyxis Raiders (max + UA)
    Gerlak Slaughterborn

    Ossyan
    - Discordia
    - Manticore
    2x Arcanists
    Invictors (max + UA)
    MHSF (min + UA)
    MHA

    Rundown:

    - I chose side, according to SR2012 turn order, which was a mistake and I should have gone first. More on this later...
    - Satyxis do their stupid run of a million miles. Not into engagement range, at least, but still ridicu-far.
    - Manticore covers some fire between a few Satyxis and my guys. Discordia pops one, Ossy puts Admonition on himself, Shatter Storm on Discordia and Quicken on the Invictors.
    - Invictors advance, Extended Fire and don't quite have the range to the Sea B***h. Kill about two Satyxis, even with rerollable RAT 8.
    - Round one.
    - Ret turn one.
    - Satyxis pile in and engage everything ever created in the multiverse... Power Swell sees a few Invictors dead. A Mechanithrall sits as a sacrifice. Soulhunters and Gerlak sit in the zone.
    - Cryx turn two.
    - Manticore covers on the Sacrifice, Discordia misses, Invictors clear a bunch of Satyxis and the MHSF kill two Soulhunters under Ossyan's feat.
    - Ret turn two.
    - I stupidly don't advance one MHSF to toe in the zone and contest and concede a point, thinking my Covering Fire will hold off his Mechanithralls.
    - His bonejack moves onto the sacrifice, second point.

    Thoughts:
    - Well, pay attention to the scenario, you tool!
    - Satyxis are stupid broken fast. I'm sorry, but your unit can run engage as far as my longest range guns, with Snipe, can shoot? Duuuuuh, what? And your high DEF is buffed further and gives you immunity to blast damage? Someone working in playtesting was asleep when they put them through...
    - Ossyan's feat is potent. I just need to not be an idiot...

    Oh well... On to game two;

    Game 2:
    35pts, Flag Too Far (SR2012, #10)
    vs Deneghra2

    Denny
    - Reaper
    - 2x Deathripper (I think. They didn't fire and are basically indistinguishable. Stupid Cryx.)
    Skarlock Thrall
    Bane Thralls (max + UA)
    Satyxis Raiders (max + UA)
    Satyxis Raider Captain
    Machine Wraith

    Reinforcements (7pts)
    Machine Wraith
    Soulhunters (min)

    Ossyan
    - Discordia
    2x Arcanists
    2x Destor Thanes
    Invictors (max + UA)
    MHSF (min + UA)
    MHA

    Reinforcements (7pts)
    2x Magisters
    Narn

    Rundown:
    - Cryx deploys first, his choice...
    - Cryx deployment.
    - Deployment and board.
    - Satyxis run a million and change miles... Banes hang out a bit. Machine Wraith cracks wise about the Raider Captain's mum. Raider Captain's mum turns out to be Wraith's mum too. Tears are shed. Bonds are made. Souls are consumed, post-torture.
    - Y'know, the usual Cryxian turn one...
    - Quicken on Invictors, Shatter Storm on Discordia and Admonition on Ossyan.
    - Pot shots at the Satyxis kill half a handful but Invictor placement is shoddy, especially since I know full well what the Soulhunters will be doing when they appear.
    - Destor Thanes do stuff. The first one charges, needing 4's! 3... Sigh.
    - Ret turn one.
    - Denny goes incorporeal and charges her bonejack after killing 4 Invictors and 2 MHSF with an arc'd Hellmouth. He forgets that he has to swing and is now corporeal again.
    - Hellmouth kills four Invictors and two MHSF.
    - Denny feats catching everything but one Thane, Ossy and the Arcanists.
    - Stupid broken Cryxian feats...
    - Soulhunters appear and, as expected, run to contest the objective.
    - Cryx turn two.
    - Not looking good, have to go for a hail Mary assassination. Ossyan walks up, feats and shoots at Denny (through a Bane Thrall - suck it more-than-5"!) Boosts, needs a 10 and of course misses.
    - Invictors aim and call Extended Fire. First two man hits for 12! Go feat!
    - Officer, aimed at RAT 9 but no CRA, needs a 7. 6. Sigh.
    - Ret turn two.
    - Cryx score. Except they don't! He forgot to move his Bane base to base with the objective and thus didn't score. Suck it, stupid broken feat of stupid.
    - Cue much massacre and bloodshed.
    - Ossyan Admonitions back from a charging Satyxis through the Machine Wraith who ran to just behind him.
    - Ossyan gets a second chance after Cryx scores two for holding both.
    - 3 on Discordia, 4 on Ossy. Try a bunch of stuff to protect Discordia, but flub every important roll...
    - So Discordia, now with Quicken tramples over 5 Bane Thralls and takes a free strike from a Satyxis...oh god if he rolls a critic-double 6.
    - Nooooooooooooooo! Damn y critical knockdown!
    - What's that? The Sea B***h doesn't have Crit KD?!?!
    - Bwaaahah-wait, don't get carried away.
    - Buy attack...boost to hit. Need a 9...
    - Boom, it's a hit! Dice+2 can't even think about failing to kill the stupid broken stupid stupidness!
    - In your stupid stupid stupid! Whatever a coherent sentence is, I don't like it!

    Thoughts:
    - SUCK IT YOU STUPID BROKEN SCENARIO CASTER! To be fair, he cocked up with his fake capture, but he was also lucky to not get assassinated - I should've gotten two hits on feat turn really.
    - Ossyan's feat + Invictors is absolutely brutal, though I'm feeling very vulnerable to infantry spam, but that might just be because Satyxis are retardedly broken...
    - Destor Thanes are really nice but they didn't really get a chance to shine. Again, stupid bloody Satyxis.
    - Minor gripe about terrain, Luke if you're reading; get more terrain dammit :P

Bah, stupid Cryx. In all honesty, if I were in a tournament and had either of these Ossy lists as my back up, they would not be out against Cryx - that's what Kaelyssa is for! Though I have found Ossy to be really potent in general. Just need to twist the arm of Luke's flatmate and get some games against Legion!

My brain is out of the, vaguely, useful words that it stole from...I don't know where, so thanks for reading my slowly devolving-into-gibberish thread!

Keep them comin', Kallas. These have been some great reports.

Also, do you take requests? I'd like to see how people use the Gorgon effectively.

I'll chuck a Gorgon in then.

    Nice....er....work Kallas. :P

Just remember the golden number with any Steamroller game. 31 inches. That's the distance both armies are apart from each other. From there just run a little bit of math and you can calculate gun ranges from just hearing his movement. Raiders are SPD 7 with AD, that puts them 11 inches from my deployment zone if they run (assuming no other movement shennigans.) So that's an Invictor Aim/CRA vs Def 16, pop feat and shoot. The mini-feat pop is to insure you are hitting the back row as well. From my experience, almost all opponents will line up right on the line and always move full distances to get into 'position.'

That just makes the math easier.

Aha thanks! I'd not really sat down and worked it out!

    Indeed!

Unfortunately my opponent was rather canny (experience against accurate long range Invictors!) and kept the Sea Witch back. It was also a Radial which threw my perception of ranges somewhat. But well, that's what it's there to do!

Ta for the information though! I shall use it at the Masters in May!

Been a little while since I last updated (just didn't get around to writing down thoughts, sorry!) but now I come to you from the tournament I played in last Saturday. Four rounds, four opponents, three enemy casters, two enemy factions(!) and one entertaining day. Pictures were taken, dice were cursed (primarily by me) and errors grumbled about.

    I'll stop listing and start reporting;
    My lists for the day:

    Kaelyssa
    - 2x Phoenix
    Sylys Wyshnalyrr
    2x Arcanists
    MHSF (min + UA)
    Halberdiers (max + UA)
    MHA

    Reinforcements;
    - Chimera

    Ossyan
    - Discordia
    2x Arcanists
    MHSF (max + UA)
    Invictors (max + UA)
    2x Magisters
    Narn

    Reinforcements;
    - Gorgon
    MHA

I think the lists were solid and overall dealt with threats well, though I didn't get any solid match ups for Kaelyssa. The only alterations I'd make would be to swap the Magisters out of Ossyan's list and put Aiyana and Holt in for the magic weapons (primarily.) As much as I like the Halberdiers with Kaelyssa, I probably would revert to full MHSF and a Chimera instead, as I love the 'throwaway'/nippy Arc Node for spell slinging shenanigans.

    To the games then:

    Game 1: Close Quarters (#1)
    vs James, Protectorate of Menoth

    Kreoss1
    - Vanquisher
    - Redeemer
    - Revenger
    Choir (min)
    Temple Flameguard (max)
    Exemplar Cinerators (max)
    Vassal
    Covenant

I decided to run with Ossyan.

    Rundown:
    - Admonition on Ossyan, Quicken on the MHSF and they hurtle forward. Discordia imprint-runs.
    - Couple of mistakes I made here: I got a little giddy over SPD 8 AD Pathfinders and shot them way too far; I should've put Quicken on the Invictors and sheltered the MHSF under Discordia's imprint to protect against the Redeemer hopefully with the Vanquisher out of range; I completely forgot that Kreoss1 has Purification.
    - Ret turn one.
    - Redeemer and Vanquisher kill five MHSF with really great scatters, much to my irritation. TFG get Defender's Ward through the Revenger and run (no UA so no Iron Zeal, thankfully.) Choir sings Battle.
    - PoM turn one.
    - I proceed to obliterate the majority of the TFG but with the MHSF dented I don't get to threaten Kreoss like I'd hoped.
    - Ret turn two.
    - Redeemer and Vanquisher repeat with a little less success, though not much less. Defender's Ward gets shifted to the Cinerators who run forward.
    - PoM turn two.
    - Ossyan feats and puts Admonition on Discordia (importantly forgetting Purification.) Invictors proceed to kill four of five DW'd Cinerators. Narn charges the Redeemer, missing his charge but still removing the bugger's cortex with his follow up.
    - Ret turn three.
    - Choir sings Battle, I stupidly don't try to Admonition Discordia now (I believe that a Choirboy came within 6") and then Kreoss moves up, Purifies then feats. Vanquisher vanquishes Discordia comfortably. Narn gets stabbed by a TFG.
    - PoM turn three.
    - Not much left of my army and most of it is knocked down. Invictors put damn good damage on the Vanquisher and hold the zone some but it's pretty much over for me.
    - Ret turn four.
    - Stuff kills stuff. He puts the Revenger in my zone before dice down is called.
    - PoM turn four.

    Result: Loss by tiebreaker.

    Thoughts:
    - I made a couple of silly errors right at the beginning that lost me almost half of my MHSF and that really was unnecessary.
    - Decent luck on my opponent's side (every single AOE, bar Ancillary ones, hit something and almost all killed something) and a little bad luck on mine (Narn missed his charge, Magister missed a Combo Smite on the Book) really didn't help, but mostly James capitalised on my errors well.
    - Kaelyssa possibly could have worked better; two heavies for zone control (both offensive and defensive) and unbothered by the AOE's and the Halberdiers would've mostly ignored the Redeemer whilst being able to threaten anything on the other side while the MHSF tackle the Choir immediately. Hindsight eh?
    - I don't understand why Menite jacks are so very, very cheap. It's not like Choir are expensive...

Off to a not so great start but on we soldier.

    Game 2: Restoration (#15)
    vs John, Trollbloods

    Doomshaper1
    - Mulg
    - 2x Impaler
    Champions (max)
    Scattergunners (max + UA)

I choose Ossyan again, confident in his armour cracking/attrition ability (the alternative Troll list included Champs with Skaldi and Longriders with Horthol - definitely wanted Ossyan in case I faced that.)

    Rundown:
    - Deployment (Just after Troll turn one began, hence forward beasts.)
    - Lots of Troll running. Banishing Ward on the Champs, Fortune on the Scattergunners.
    - Quicken on the Invictors, Admonition on Discordia and the MHSF put a few shots into the frontmost Scattergunners, killing one and knocking another down.
    - Ret turn one.
    - Trolls lump it forward again. Multiple sprays kill a single MHSF and an Impaler goes for a long shot on Discordia but is short.
    - Discordia shuffles to make room for Ossy who moves up, feats and tags Mulg with his Chronophage Cannon. Quicken is put on the MHSF who attempt to assassinate Doomie who has three (I think) Fury. Much damage is done but enough miss that he survives but Mulg takes a heavy hit as do the Impalers. The Invictors kill Mulg, who is RFP'd by Shatter Storm. Narn run-engages a Champ.
    - Ret turn two.
    - Doomie and the Impalers heal a little from the Objective. One Impaler charges a Magister and the other kills Narn. The Scattergunners get shut down hard by the feat and Quicken, killing a single MHSF between them (10's to hit the MHSF even with a reroll is hard; 6's to kill an Invictor is hard on 1 die.) The Champs miss a hefty amount but still kill a decent number of MHSF. Doomie feats this turn.
    - Ossyan pulls back, shooting a central Champion and giving Discordia Admonition. A Magister Combo Smites a Champ, knocking three down and putting decent damage out (though Tough happens on the slam-ee.) Discordia gets her Power Concentrated and kills two of the three downed Champs with a flanking Invictor killing another. MHSF and Invictors kill only one Scattergunner between them but I only need him tied up while Discordia is forced through the left. Ossyan takes 10(!) damage from the feat, painfully, though Discordia only takes 7.
    - Ret turn three.
    - Doomie moves around the central Impaler to Farstrike the left one for his only real shot. That Impaler boosts to hit. Miss. Cue breathing again.
    - Magister slams the Champs into each other to prevent Discordia taking a free strike and the Invictors get out of the way. Ossy tags Doomie and puts up Chronomancer just in case before Discordia charges for the kill.
    - Doomie goes pop.

Result: Win by Caster Kill, 0 CP either way.

    Thoughts:
    - I think it was a good decision to attempt to assassinate turn two; a little bit of bad dice saw a few too many miss for the win but it put Doomie in a terrible, almost untenable position. The death of Mulg (whom he forgot to Protective Fit with) immediately after and the enormously disappointment of the Scattergunners effectively handed me the game. I was a bit incautious with Ossyan and missed the threat of the left Impaler but that was pretty much the only thing he had that could go for it and I got lucky.

Feeling a little more invigorated now!

    Game 3: Bunkers (#11)
    vs Finlay, Protectorate of Menoth

    Harbinger
    - Devout
    - Crusader
    Heirophant
    Avatar
    Vassal Mechanic
    Choir (max)
    Exemplar Cinerators (max)
    Visgoth Rhoven and co.

    Reinforcements;
    - Blessing of Vengeance

I chose to run with Kaelyssa, figuring that I could counter-feat after the inevitable Harbinger stalling or to slow his other list (Kreoss1) and her toolbox would help a lot.

    Rundown:
    - Banishing Ward on the MHSF, Phantom Hunter on Kae, run forward. MHA keeps back a little, waiting for either the Blessing to appear or to tag the Avatar.
    - Ret turn one.
    - Menoth runs forward. Feat is, as expected, popped. Purification wipes Banishing Ward.
    - PoM turn one.
    - I bring on my Chimera and run it forward, allowing me to Arc at Rhoven and cover it with my feat. The two Phoenix advance, confident because I'll be feating, firing at the Crusader through Passage doing a little damage and setting him on fire. Harbinger rolls pants and her feat does no damage. Halberdiers spread sideways, avoiding most of the adverse effects of Harby's feat and the MHSF aim or shuffle right. For some reason I fixated on Rhoven but I should've targeted his buddies who are significantly better (being straight up damage dealers) against this list..
    - Kae kills Rhoven (like I said, fixated) and...forgets to feat.
    - Ret turn two.
    - Crusader gets three, Crusader's Call goes up and it the Choir sings Battle. It scraps a Phoenix really easily. Avatar charges the MHSF, killing a couple. No Gaze. Cinerators run.
    - One CP to him as he claims his zone (stupid, stupid Tom. Feat, Feat damn you!)
    - MHA guffs her charge on the Avatar, causing a measly two damage. Halberdiers charge him, also guffing pretty much every damage roll and cripple no systems. Two Cinerators in the zone are killed, however, and they spread out to cover the zone better and make the Avatar work. I almost time out (even with extension; the Halberdiers took quite a while) but Mr Burny smacks the Crusader about, disabling its cortex, thankfully. The Chimera jumps into the zone behind the Exemplars who charged a couple of MHSF. Kaelyssa feats this turn...
    - I score, 1-1, as I contest the left.
    - Ret turn three.
    - Blessing shows up. The Cinerators kill a couple of Halberdiers but mess up positioning slightly. Blessing charges a damaged (from a free strike) Cinerator, since he can't charge me, finishing it before killing another couple of Halberdiers. The Avatar manoeuvres and begins killing Halberdiers but my MHSF free strike gets lucky, disabling his sword and making my opponent pause. Even with extension he times out, failing to have cleared the zone. Luckily he'd run his Choir in to contest the other.
    - Unfortunately, he'd left the Choir bunched up. Sylys tells Kae naughty elven secrets and she Rifts four off the board before shooting the other two.
    - I score.
    - Ret turn four.

    Result: Win by scenario, 2-1.

    Thoughts:
    - Seriously, why are Menite jacks so cheap?! They're not great on the defence, but again, Choir are also really cheap and help anything... Sigh.
    - I think Kaelyssa was the right choice here, though forgetting the feat second turn really put me in a bad place. I would've comfortably controlled my zone had I had both Phoenix alive and I only would have needed my Halberdiers to last a single round to win, but alas.
    - In all honesty, I won because of my opponent's inexperience; had he been more experienced, he wouldn't have taken nearly so long to activate and almost certainly would have scored again.

Relieved at a second win. Saved by the bell, really.

    Game 4: Incursion (#7)
    vs Frazer, Trollbloods

    Doomshaper2
    - Rok
    - Earthborn
    - 2x Axer
    Runebearer
    Kriel Warriors (min)
    5 Whelps

I decided to run Ossyan for the final game, again deciding that he could get a very heavy alpha strike and likely out-attrition either list.

    Rundown:
    - I take first turn, Shatter Storm on the MHSF, Quicken the Invictors and Admonition Discordia. Run. Ossy charges forward.
    - Ret turn one.
    - Doomie considers spell assassination, via a running, Rushed Earthborn and liberal application of Primal Shock. Decides against it. Trolls advance, Wild Aggression on Rok, Elemental Communion on both Rok and Doomie. Central flag disappears.
    - Troll turn one.
    - Discordia, with focus from an Arcanist, runs forward to make space for Ossy and to hopefully block paths to his future position. Ossyan moves up, feats and Quickens the MHSF. Mage Hunters move up, eight in range of Doomshaper. Eight shots later, win.
    - Pincushioned.

Result: Win by Caster Kill, 0 CP.

    Thoughts:
    - Baaaaaahahahahahahahaaaa!
    - Ossyan + Gravity Well + MHSF = disgustingly awesome!
    - More than justified in choice of list and even if Doomie had been out of range I felt confident that I could kill Rok, at least one Axer and possibly put decent damage on the Earthborn.
    - Not really much else to say that isn't theory!

Oh actually, one more thought: I think it was a <15 minute Caster Kill...

And it felt bloody amazing!! :-D

    Placing: Fourth of eleven.
3 wins: 7 Strength of Schedule: 2 CP.

    Top three were:
    Cryx (4 wins)
Khador (3 wins (1 bye): 8 Strength of Schedule: 6 CP)
Retribution (3 wins: 8 Strength of Schedule: 4 CP - Ossyan and Garryth for those interested.)

Overall I'm pleased with my placing (and I can take a moral victory in that the Khadoran got a bye in round two :-D ) and it was an entertaining day all told playing fun, pretty tense games against good people.

As far as improving for the future:
    - FEAT DAMN YOU!
    - Get better dice (ref: Game 1)
    - Give opponent bad dice (any tips? I'm open to witchcraft :-P)

There's a tourny in May the week before the Masters, so hopefully will have lots more tournament reports at the end of next month!

Props to PG_Azhdeen/Alan for running the tournament and Frank at Worlds At War for hosting. And Frazer for paying for my weekend's entertainment (and my electricity meter!) and not leaving in Livingston after the final game!

I have some more reports to put together soon enough, but I hope that you enjoy reading this.

    Thanks for reading,
    Tom.

well done (except the feating ) got beaten by ozzy recently myself, I hate that guy.....

Giving opponents bad dice is a simple enough spell, but costly (and due to witchcraft laws illegal in all EU countries)

Fast caster kills are bad for the game but good for the ego.

My last gaming night I played against Menoth twice and both opponents were different guys named James. James' like Menoth I guess.

Ignoring LOS is great when dealing with that particular faction.

On the subject of James' I was the player in the first game, my primary faction is Cygnar but have expanded to Menoth recently. Perhaps it's the fire that we James' like?

Have to say that running the MHSF that far forwards was a terrifying start to the game, particularly with killbox in place. One observation from the tournament I found was that there were 3 ret players. Most I've ever seen. Got drawn against them all... Seemed to be a popular set of casters though. Ossyan for the first, Garryth for the second and then my last game his choices were ossyan and garryth. Felt like playing on repeat.

Those invictors were painful. Think the most entertaining part of the game was the choirboy doing 3 points to narn. A wee bit more on the roll and he would have needed to be promoted.

Anyway it was a good day and thanks again for the game. Sorry my dice were being so cruel, we should have a rematch sometime and swap dice.

A few reports, but only one with pictures, so I'll keep them brief.

The Iron Caster league that's being run at my gaming club has been rocking pretty well and is drawing in a good WM/H crowd. So far I've played four games:
    - Witch Coven
    - Rhyas
    - Witch Coven
    - Baldur1

I've been running Ossyan as my Iron Caster (basically, keep your caster for the duration, lists can change and games played divided by Caster Kill for winner) and he's been doing solidly, despite my early reservations about his squishiness (with Admonition, he's really difficult to tag in melee.)

A quick overview of the first three games (no pics unfortunately) then:
    Coven
    - Malice
    - Slayer
    Withershadow Combine

    I ran:
    Ossy
    - Manticore
    Arcanist
    Invictors (max + UA)

Essentially, Quickened Invictors can kill whatever you want. Occultation on Malice didn't protect him from the feat and he exploded. Eventually got Monty (my Manticore) into the Egregore and the witches popped.

Second game was against Rhyas, Sigil of Jerkbag von Dragonchops, the pimp daddy's favourite little lady:
    Rhyas
    - Typhon
    - Raek
    Warmongers (min)
Rearguard Tier 1: everyone gets stealth first round.

Tier benefit (and him going first) wasn't nice, but he over-exposed Typhon who got feat-obliterated (I now coin the term, featbliteration) with Shatter Storm up to boot. Warmongers and Raek carve through a good chunk of stuff (including the Manticore.) Eventually comes down to Ossy vs Rhyas which she cannot win due to Admonition. Wins; 2/2.

    Witch Coven again, same opponent:
    Coven
    - Slayer
    - Nightwretch
    Croe's Cutthroats (max)

    Ossy
    - Manticore
    Arcanist
    Halberdiers (max + UA)
    Narn

This wasn't looking set to be fun (the main reason I'd avoided MHSF so far) and I proceeded to behave like a complete mong. I fed my Halberdiers to the Cutthroats and missile'd Narn at the Coven. Narn almost survived but in the end Ossyan was alone. He kept Admonition and hurled himself into the Coven dodging three(!) freestrikes from the Cutthroats. The witches stab him for a couple of points of damage but he gets a turn to swing.

Unfortunately, Ossyan was trained to fight by a blind paraplegic. He fails to fight his way out of a wet paper bag and/or gets distracted by boobs. Slayer, crunch. Wins; 2/3.

And currently, game four against Circle:
    Baldur1
    - Woldwarden
    - Woldwatcher
    - Woldwyrd
    Shifting Stones

I'd only brought my list with MHSF to the club this week (had a 40k game for the campaign taking up space) and was initially filled with trepidation.

    Ossyan
    - Manticore
    Arcanist
    Sylys
    MHSF (max + UA)

    - Deployment.
    - Circle gets first turn and deployed not on the hill. I scratch my head. Life goes on.
    - Round 1.
    - Stone Skin goes up on the Warden. I Quicken the MHSF, Admonition Ossy and Shatters the Manticore's Storm. I'm sure you're all paralytic with stunned disbelief.
    - Round 2.
    - Stones shift and the Warden puts an Earth Spikes into it, killing two MHSF.
    - Baldur forgets to spend any fury whatsoever, delaying my attempt at assassination.
    - Ossyan tags the Warden and the Manticore pumps good damage into it. My MHSF utterly fail to roll above an 8 on damage against the damn Stone.
    - V of Deaaaath!
    - Circle retreats towards the hill. Stone Skin goes back up.
    - Ossyan nuts up, feats and tags a stone, killing it. MHSF perform the patented V of Death but fail to finish Baldur, but he and the Warden are now officially Buggered.
    - Circle Round 3.
    - Warden charges a couple of MHSF and the Watcher does the same. A couple die.
    - Ret Round 3.
    - Ossyan tags the Warden, preventing it from reaching my Manticore next turn. Monty moves up and kersplodes the Watcher. No reaving from Shatter Storm is tasty. MHSF pepper the stones ineffectually and pull back to preserve their remaining strength.
    - Round 4.
    - Warden retreats back up the hill. Rapid Growth attempts to protect it. An Earth Spikes knocks Monty over.
    - Ret Round 4.
    - Monty has none of it, moving round after the MHSF pepper the Warden, and cranks his damage roll, kersploding the Warden.
    - Round 5.
    - The Wyrd puts good damage on Monty, who retreats into the waiting, caring arms of Captain Hammer. MHSF continue to pepper, now on the Wyrd.
    - Circle Round 6.
    - Wyrd puts out more damage, but Shatter Storm has been dropped so guns down a couple of the last MHSF. Monty et al finish the Wyrd.
    - Round 7, Baldur Hail Mary's (is that even a viable verb?) at Monty...who Admonitions away half an inch. In a display of pure hate, Baldur hurls an Earth Spikes at Captain Hammer who decides that a sit down is exactly what he needs.
    - Ossyan tags, MHSF charges. Monty looks on like the MHSF just took his lunch money.

    Wins; 3/4.

So three weeks into the league and I'm sat at a tasty 75% ratio. I'm pretty happy with that so far. I probably shouldn't have gone for the assassination against Baldur, but it is rather entertaining to see the expression on people's faces as you explain what's happening and why they cannot do a thing about it.

The second game against Coven I was being a spas and I deliberately tried a list I don't think I'd run normally. And 15pts is stupid unbalanced. We do have a gentleman's agreement that no one brings Karchev, but I think I wouldn't mind seeing him with my MHSF

Thanks for reading, sorry it's not much, I'll try and get more Iron Caster reports. Possibly heading to a tournament on the 20th and I should be attending the Masters this year on the 26/27th!

Another Iron Caster game in and another Circle player:

    Kromac (gah!)
    - Feral
    - Argus
    Stones
    Lord of the Feast

    Ossy
    - Manticore
    - Gorgon
    Arcanist
    HSBM
    MHA

I'd already decided to try the HSBM this week (since I've actually resumed my painting!) and it's bloody Kromac. Bah. Not a good start...

    - Circle deployed second after winning the roll off.
    - Ossyan Quickens the HSBM and Admonitions himself. Kromac casts Bestial and gets placed by the stones. Lord of the Feast misses the HSBM's DEF 17.
    - Ret turn one.
    - HSBM hurtle in, missing Kromac with their attacks. MHA decides that the Lord must die, passes her Terror check, hits and causes 22 damage! Ding dong! The jacks run some to get line next turn.
    - Ret turn two.
    - Kromac rifts the Manticore and kills an HSBM in melee. The Feral warps for armour and eats another. The Argus charges a third, interposing itself between the Manticore and Kromac. HSBM pass their command. Stones shift around Kromac.
    - Circle turn two.
    - Ossyan tags a stone, just failing to kill it after the HSBM failed to, but catching Kromac in the aura. The Gorgon kills the HSBM to unengage Kromac after I forgot to Beat Back away from the Stone. Monty pumps a couple of aimed shots his way, missing one, flubbing an unboosted damage and getting a solid hit transfered.
    - MHA keeps up her awesome streak, obviously wanting to go to the Masters with a reputation, and one shots the Argus! Yaaaay, my first one shot!
    - Ret turn three.
    - Warpwolf noms on the Manticore. Pillow fisted faction my arse. Circle community can cry me a river. Completely unbuffed Feral tore through it with two Fury to spare.
    - Kromac slips round the Stone and batters the Gorgon into the dirt, having Beasted Out from the Manticore's shots.
    - Sad face...
    - Circle turn three.
    - Ossyan runs away. MHA edges around the Warpwolf but does no damage. Captain Hammer charges the Feral but decides against competing with a Decapitation Weapon Master and misses.
    - Ret turn four.
    - Kromac jumps after the retreating Ossy. The Feral eats Cpt Hammer and the HSBM leader (the MHA having retreated to Chain Strike distance) before filling himself up on Fury for Kromac next turn.
    - Ossyan tags Kromac, meaning he is safe from the bugger next turn but cranks a damage roll. With the beast maxed out on fury he can't transfer so Ossyan slams a boosted damage Arcantrik Bolt into him for the win!
    - Ret turn five.

    Iron Caster wins; 4/5, 80%.

The Kromac player, despite having only just picked up WM/H has racked up a solid streak with this being his first loss of four (I think) Iron Caster games. Plus he was playing Kromac. So I can't feel bad

So far, I think our league factions breakdown is something like:
    Cryx (Denny1)
    Cryx (Denny1, again)
    Cryx (Venethrax)
    Cryx (Witch Coven)
    Circle (Kromac)
    Circle (Baldur1)
    Cygnar (Haley1)
    Cygnar (Not sure. Possibly Darius)
    Khador (Harkevich)
Skorne (Morghoul1 - maybe. Might just be playing battlebox nearby...)
    Legion (Rhyas)
    Highborn (Gorton)
    Menoth (Harbinger)
    Retribution (Ossy, me!)

Maybe Ghostmaker will provide us with any corrections? *poke* Overall a pretty solid selection with only Her Brokenness appearing twice (partly due to one of them only having the battlebox + something...) I think there are still a few folk with WM/H who have yet to jump in, so hopefully we'll see even more!

    Short and sweet. Enjoy!

About your Ashlynn Merc game a while back. You can't take both Versh and the Ragman in the same list. Ibodger had blocked Ragman as an option beause Versh who you select first has an animosity towards Thamar.

Aha, that's why! Thanks for the info. That opponent (also the one who had a Wardog and Sylys on Sorscha) is bad for his rules.
