Unfortunately your going to be waiting a while probably... After getting this stuff completed im working on my Cryx battle box components (which i never finished since i don't use them that often), then the Blind water stuff i have left to do since there isnt much for them, then more Cryx stuff... I may work on the shock troops after all of that... or at any time i just get sick of painting green again. Thanks for the support from you and EVERYONE else tho.

I really like the paint jobs on both armies, they have a very "anime-ish" flair to them and I loves me some good anime! If that offends you, it wasn't meant to :P

The only criticisms I have is regarding the bases. I like the cracked ice look, but the dark blue really deters from the effect for me, looks very odd and doesn't contrast well with the pink. The ice flare on the jack bases looks off too. Works with Sorscha though.

Wow... that blows. I came here expecting to see some Khador Pink epicness but all of them are gone... and because of a word filter. =[.

I thought it was annoying that I had to go change the name and url of my blog because one of the filters changed the url, but this... This is pretty bad. =[.

thanks for the interest and it really does bite cus it is a paid photobucket account so moving them to a free account would be a waste (and i was having issues with going over the free bandwidth caps for the images and not displaying which is why i upgraded to a paid account)

(35 points is filled out with my orgyn bokur, corbeau and gudrun all done in my cryx scheme... may eventually get more khador specific stuff to paint in pink to replace them... but not for a while due to funds.... unless anyone wants to donate to the pink force of doom!!)

also something ive been considering, now that i have the actual model for tournaments is alternated to the war dog... been considering this:

camera timestamp resets to default time/date when batteries are taken out, and time stamp is default on... it is annoying...

SOOOOOOOOOO........ Here's how i built my Gun Carriage... WITH MAGNETS!!

here it is in full to start and hot it will look at the end of things...


now let's break it down!!
First, 2 magnets under the gun carriage main body


Second - magnets on the suspension - note the putty to act as a gapper to stop any wobble from uneven magnets (added after the magnets). Also magnets at the front sides of the harness section and on the sides of the horses (i cut off the khador symbol on them to do this)


third - mounting to the base.
the horses have pegs/pins going down from their feet into the base, and i drilled holes and added magnets under the wheels, and added lil magnet hills behind to hold the suspension stable

and then here you can see the magnets on the base, and the holes for the horses, and how the pattern for the ice fits with the model.


i think it creates a sort of diorama effect to it, with all the other models of them all on a frozen lake witht he gun carriage out front and its shear weight cracking the ice, with the rest of the army carefully following up.

Ill have to remember this for when i do a gun carriage, the magnets will definetly help with storage!

and with doing awesome things in the future! like an easy swap from horses to i dunno... BEARS!!!
i also have some plans to scratch build a standing platform to replace the main waggon portion (same suspension) but i havent even entered planning stages for it yet.

Also as for storrage, yea its one of the major reasons i went the way i did like this. origionally the horses and suspension were glued to the base... but then i realised even that would be a pain to transport, so i did some test fitting and the main core fits into a battle foam standard large tray (pops out the top about asmuch as a plastic jack and the cannons bulge the sides out a bit, but works fine in a center compartment) no issues with the horses ofcourse, and the suspension fits on its side in a large tray aswell, only coming just a TAG bit higher than a jack kit does.! so all together my entire Khador capable force (including the mercs) fit in a single Heavy tray (with a modified topper and some compartments sectioned with blister foam to stop small bases from knocking, ad some of the shock troopers have to share space)

im rocking an old school metal tool box at the moment, magnets everywhere! still have to work out how to transport my Khador thou, they are on deep dish bases so no recess underneath for magnets to attach to, might have to get me a battle foam one, at least now i know that i can fit a deconstructed carriage in there!

yea i popped it off, added magnets to the bottom of the body, and instead of worrying about lining up magnets underneath i just added a broken section of my exacto knife
so now even the pilot can be swapped out!!... FOR A BEAR!! (or a pony)

but i do have the oddest desire to put epic Irusk up there to imitate this:

Nice work on the battle wagon, I love the impact marks of the horses hooves on the ice! Great touch

Out of interest - have you magnetized it for storage/transport or another reason?

thanks for the compliment. and as of yet im not sure exactly how im going to end up painting the horses, but it likely will not end up being the mane6, since the armored components just hides to much. Also the horses will be the last thing done for this project since as i said im very much considering swapping them with bears.

and the magnets were added somewhat out of transportation ease, partly to see if i could, partly out of boredom, and partly because i think im developing a freaky addiction to adding magnets to things...

and when i say color blocking i generally mean painting my base coats, but just the first layer of them. they will generally look splotchy and uneven, but you can figure out where each color will be, and helps see how the paint naturally settles on the model for where things like the ink wash will end up, and where some of the natural highlights are.

Your painting style is awesome. I remember seeing these a while ago on the Khador forum and I was blown away, but seeing them again I'm even more impressed. I'm usually not a fan of hot pink, but the way you've highlighted it makes it look great.

Also, the style of highlights and shading reminds me of Viewtiful Joe.

Oh and that is one scandalous Aiyana. Don't think I haven't noticed what you've done with her leg! (She's very nicely painted, though.)
