Is it possible that this will be for both Blindwater and Thornfall?

It is within the realms of possibility fluff-wise that Farrow Bone grinders could exert control over these and summon them.

Meh, I think it is kinda lame myself. I'm, apparently, one of those rare people who was never really a fan of the Boneswarm IK model. It fits with the theme that they are starting to push the Gatormen towards, but I would have preferred more awesome swamp beasts. It will need to be cool to justify me buying some. So far it sounds like it has snacking for sure, so more anti-living stuff that is useless against Cryx and certain Skorne and Circle army builds.

4 Warbeasts for the gators now and still 2 for the pigs. Unless PP pulls off something amazing in Domination, it really looks like the farrow are out of favor.

5 Warbeasts as the purple tentacle is also a warbeast. I'm not that upset about it as a pig player though as a friend pointed out Blindwater is probably getting an extra beast because they won't be getting another unit in domination. Another heavy and light warbeast for pigs to equal things out would be a welcome addition.

Well, there is already artwork for what looks to be another pig beast, possibly a heavy, floating around the interwebs. He has this vice claw and a flamethrower, if I remember right.

Agreed. Farrow desperately need more beasts. I really hope we get a light in addition to the Flamer Hog we already know about, going most of another year without more beast selection would be disappointing.

Honestly I don't know how I feel about this either. Personally I was hoping the Blindwater beasts would stay just that...beasts. Giant (or rather, more giant than the rest of the army) crocs, frogs, maybe a giant snake of some kind, even a massive lizard. Don't get me wrong, it's great to have something that'll use Maelok's feat for more than just Incorp but why not make it a solo? Maybe it's just me, but I was sort of hoping they would stick with the swamp monsters theme for beasts and they could take the units and solos in the more voodoo-oriented direction

This was my impression, which I was cool with.

I like my big swamp monsters. If this undead theme ends up being half the bindwater-useable options, looks like I'll be checking out a different faction. It's just not my thing.

I like it. It's certainly better than the infamous Blackhide "Jazzhands" Wrastler, 2011 WWE superstar. At least in my book. Personally, I've though the boneswarm was one of the best IKRPG models for a while...now I've got an excuse to get two...or three.

Incorrect, as it will be a Minion warbeast. Wrong Eye will be able to cast it's animus, but more than likely on friendly faction models, and not just friendly models.

Now, I wait patiently for some sort of crustacean for a Blindwater beast. I think that would pretty much seal my fate in terms of ever playing anything else (I wouldn't).

That said, I'm totally okay with the boneswarm! It was always one of my favorite IKRPG models, and the voodoo / necromantic twist is really what makes Gators interesting to me in the first place. (In fact, I wish the Gators were a bit more cartoony, like Wrongeye), as I like the kind of overblown, showy (yet eccentric) aspect that Wrongeye conveys in terms of "Cajun" culture.

Farrow get the spray pig unless I'm mistaken. Plus pigs get the warhog which is hands down better than any beast Gators have.

+1 to this..... gators just dont have the upfront "I is u death" that the War Hog brings to the table..... i mean seriously, can u image what the next heavy for pigs is gonna have to be to fight for points away from the War Hog, especially w Docs tier bonus

seems like pigs are gonna be a lil more infantry friendly and gators is going beast friends, which i think actually makes for a) good game diversity and b) is fluffy

Rendering (when gets a soul can immediately spend to heal d6 damage)
can spend souls to remove fury from himself (instead of spending them directly for attacks, would lead to more interesting interactions i think)

-love the undead trend in the gators models.
-PP IF you don't re do this model, I fear they won't as they've pushed IK models on us b4.
-looks like I've got to take my old swarms out my conversion box...

I am hoping that its abilities have nothing to do with living models. Honestly, if it just eats skeletons out of things, does it really matter if it is alive or dead? Bones are bones.

Some of the cryx players around here seem to think that Cryx is entitled to the undead models so they should have them too. =/. I'm glad blindwater is getting some undead (other than maelok and feral) though.

i'm guessing that it collects corpse tokens and gains STR/ARM for however many it has (limit 3-5 corpses with a 5 inch collection zone). it can also spend them to heal damage points when it collects them (like the DeathJack and its Souls but probably D3)

animus: Dark Shroud to a friendly faction model. cost = 2 fury

probably MAT 5 with a low P+S (12 or 13) until it collects corpses.

i also predict 16 damage pips, Undead and Terror.

also - i honestly dont like that blindwater is going this far into the undead... i wanted something DIFFERENT than cryx... and it started out really well... with the croak hunters, barnie, the wrastle, were all quite different... but then calliban... now maelok... and boneswarm...

it combines the best of my 2 favorite factions!
and it completely validates my Cryxian Sewer Gators...

besides, if there are things that i actively dream about, it is Cryx with armor and giant reptiles... and my dream seems to be coming true in the form of Gators. one release at a time, my excitement grows for them.

You know, even though I love the bone swarm, I really thought that the Blindwater would get some sort of giant crawdad or something. That would be sweet! Paint them red and maybe put some lemons on the base. Ha! Maybe I'll mod some melted butter and some bibs with the Swamptapus.

But yeah, living beasts would have been preferable, but I (as a Cryx player) really don't have any objections to undead beasties.

If you love the voodoo theme you shouldn't be upset that they're going undead. A big portion of voodoo is control of spirits. Its where we got zombies from. While I don't think it will be the focus of the gators, ignoring facts about the religion its based upon would be worst than saying we're not doing this because its not cool.

I'm here with you. Especially with the level of beast-focus our warlocks have. Carver's the most troop-focused, and even he has Mobility AND Batten Down the Hatches.

I don't want to chant DOOOOOM, but if Domination puts Farrow even further behind in the warbeast race, then I'll be forced to look upon Slaughterhousers with scorn... especially since I can't easily fit them into a Journeyman/Grow League list.

Very different reactions here from Gator players. Yes, it's an IK model. No, it's not going to be resculpted. No IK model has been resculpted yet when they became Warmachine/Hordes models - that kind of defeats the whole point of reusing an EXISTING model doesn't it?

They're obviously going deeper into the voodoo theme with Blindwater. To some people that's awesome, to others it's disappointing because they wanted more scaly things. I'm sure some of those are coming too. I get how you feel, I wouldn't be happy if Thornfall started getting non-Farrow models without a darn good explanation. I'd still advise waiting for Domination and see what other models are coming and how they write this into the story before deciding that PP has forsaken the Gators or are turning the faction into something else.
