Default Cry Havoc! And let slip the hogs of war.

    Hey All,

My pigmen arrived today and I plan on using Lord Carver as my first caster an (as such) would appreciate feedback on following two 25pt lists

    Carver (+6)
    Warhog - 8
    Warhog -8
    Gunboar - 5
    Targ - 2
    Max Brigands - 8

    or

    Carver (+6)
    War Hog - 8
    Gun Boar - 5
    Gun Boar - 5
    Targ - 2
    Min Brigands - 5
    Slaughtehousers - 6

As a side note this was the first chance I had to read through the Minions book and it's awesome. Despite my best intentions of letting my friend have gators all to himself I'll be ordering a sizable Blindwater army shortly as a companion to Thornfall.

I've been playing Warmachine for while but WHFB (rather than Hordes) was always my go to fantasy miniatures game - (I have a small Trollblood force but rarely field them). With Minions that has now changed - in fact I expect to be playing them as much or more than my beloved Khador.

List 1 would be my choice.

You don't need a melee unit and a ranged unit at 25pts, a supporting unit and a strong battle group are more important. I see list 1 being a good starting point.

Both seems solid to me. Probably the first one is easier to run, but the second one can deal much better with infantry, and I think still hits hard enough to face high armour.
I've learned english reading Warmachine and Hordes books (I mean sorry... ¬¬')

Many thanks for the feedback. I think my first list is pretty straight forward and has more hitting power, my only concern is that I regularly face a Cygnar player that loves ranged assassinations and a Cryx player that plays pDenny . . . alot. Given that I'll likely be ADing the Brigands "dug in" I'm worried about keeping Carver screened from both ranged/spell attacks.

The second list lets Carver hang out slightly more safely behind the Slaughterhousers (who should hit hard enough if the Gun Boars can "ping" a beast/unit) but if I lose the War Hog my Fury generation starts to hurt.

And at the risk of going all PP fanboy will add again what a fantastic book and model line the Minions offer. I can't wait to get my hands on Sturm and Drang plus the new "Fire Hog".

You'll be casting Batten Down so Carver will have high ARM to help shrug off assassination attempts - plus you can use the Gunboar for hiding behind.

Both lists look fine though, I say you should try both of them and see what you prefer.
    Currently playing: Farrow & Skorne
