Gorten Battlebox, worth it?

I'm thinking about getting into Mercs and I absolutely love the look of the Rhulic forces. That being said, I already have Menoth, Farrow, and Khador, so if I do pick up a 4th army I would like to know they're worth it. So, is the Gorten Battlebox any good? Is it worth getting at this point or should I piecemeal a Rhulic army from scratch?

Gorten's battlebox is awsome. But you will have to peicemeal as it is no longer available.

Well I may be able to procure one, so buying the models individually isn't a problem. I'm just wondering if the contents will see regular play in a competitive environment or whether I'll be swapping them all for a different list at some point.

Gorten's battle box is quite possibly one of the best in the game. The driller is a great jack for it's point cost. More often than not you will have to feat to drag your opponent's jacks into the driller's threat range, but at the battle box level, that's not a huge problem. And the three gunners are great for assasinations. If you build a Gorten list you'll most likely use all four jacks. I didn't realize that the battle box was no longer being sold but that might not be a bad thing. The gun bunnies come two to a blister, so if you were to buy two blisters of gunners and do a parts order for the gun from a blaster you could easily make a gunner into a blaster, which is another great light jack. This would give you Gorten, three gunners, a blaster, and a driller. Which would make a great start for any Gorten army.

+1 on the value of the Gorten battle box. He's probably also the better caster for Searforge if you want to expand in that direction, and you'll most likely continue to use everything in the battle box if you do.

If you choose to go Highborn or 4* you'll still be using most of it. And Gorten is a strong caster in both those contracts.

+1 It really is. This battle box wins more battle box match ups than anything, and it usually plays down 4 to 6 points. You will use every model in it. You will want a pack of blasters next and Thor. Enjoy!

Gorten's battlebox is worth it in every way. It includes 5 models you will use in almost every Gorten list, no matter how far you expand, or in which direction you expand. The price save is awesome. Your basically getting $70 worth of models for $40.
