EHexeris Tier Awesomeness!

Has Any1 else tried Ehexeri's Tier yet? Because I did and it was Awesome!

His Tier had most things that is needed in a competitive list. PGBH and extoller solos. In my opinion the Venator Reivers are a must for this tier mainly because the can also badly hurt a Large based model and also clean up infantry with black spot on target infantry. Venator slingers would probably also be a welcome option since they can decently hurt Warjacks and undead and their cost is dirt cheap. Aptimus marketh can make switching black spot on two model/units and possibly 3 while upkeeping the first one.

Tier 1: For each extoller = free animus on first turn. ------- Mainly used for Rush which is nice.

Tier 2: 3 AG = 1 free AG --------------------------------- Some people think that AG's are not really powerful for their point cost, but think of it this way on this tier you get 4 AG's for 10 points and 1 of them is Hakaar!

Tier 3: 2 units = 2" deployment extension ----------------- This is honestly a freebie since PGBH and 1 unit can be easily squeezed in a 50 point list, on a 35 would be harder but do'able.

Tier 4: 3 warbeast = bonded warbeast = AD -------------- Not a big fan of this one but if the bonded beast is a something hard like TSentry or BBack then this really helps a lot to move your spell channeling in your opponent's face

EHexy is the answer to High Def infantry spam so basically all you need are hardhitters that will maim High armored models and we easily have the answer for that. Any1 else think that this Tier is very competitive and has tried it yet?

I haven't tried it yet, but here's some theorymachine.

A full unit of swordsmen can provide twelve souls, which is just enough to feed four AGs but your extollers arent getting much for themselves. I would want to take another full unit of something but that eats into points that could go to beasts. Maybe eHex is meant to run pretty light on beasts and cut himself regularly expecting to heal, but points still get tight when you need to run three beasts. I want at least one heavy.

The first time I saw the art for the Ancestral Guardian I thought they might be good as a three man unit for 9 points but never tried it. Here you have a four man unit for ten points. Since cataphracts arent in the list the AGs serve as heavy infantry?

An extoller and two AGs would travel with each unit, the swordsmen and the venators. The extollers distribute souls as needed and the AGs are central to help screen the beasts.

A void spirit could replace the beast handlers but he might mess up soul generation unless he runs way up a flank or something.

Archidon would make sense to replace the cannoneer for a second void spirit.

I might try it at some point if I can borrow a third AG from someone.

Couldn't you take 2 AGs and Haakar to make the three AG solos required to get the freebie?

Ive been using EHexeris' theme force a lot. It has some nice benifits, and personally I feel that AGs get a bad rap here on the forums. I use his army as a counter-punching-wave army, where I typically take a first hit, and attrition out from there. Its provides a lot of the models that I was already using with him, and I find it pretty competitive.

On Naareshs' theme, we can now do the Nihilator spam, similar to the Doom Rever/Bane spam that the Butcher, and Goreshade offer. Not only that, a couple of Archidons, and Nihilator spam, move up really fast and flush the board with tough models. Its pretty good as well.

Cause 3 AG is a big investment at 35, and you likely have to choose between Beasts or the Infantry to Support the 4 AG's.

It may be true that Naaresh probably has the faster Tier on all of skorne. But I believe it has a fatal flaw, and that is not having a tyrant Commander. Being a melee heavy list without pathfinder or reveille for the units can slow down the assualt or clog up areas which depends mainly on the terrain. And being a melee heavy list really is bad when facing against Saeryn. My best friend plays LoE and I play him a lot, and when he bought her and used it against my Naaresh tier I was literally Annahilated. The only way I won was that I got 1 of my Archidons close to her by getting freestriked past multiple Strider models ( Thank god for Narresh's feat they barely made damage ) and got lucky to get Critical pitch, which threw her right to my Savage Brute and shaman which raped her on feat turn. Saeryn was the only model I killed and all my nihilators was gone. I won only through luck.

See, that's what I mean, it lacks a true heavy hitter in the list and one just can't have the basics in the list at 35.

Quite a tight squeeze in 35, bonded BB with AD is nice speed buff, especially given the +2" deploy, you'd have him start at 16" going 1st and can run past the center line on first turn. 4 AGs and an extoller sharing the 12 souls of the swordsmen unit is a little tight though, probably shouldn't expect them to function at full load at this point level. Is this going to be enough push for me to buy 3 AGs ? I don't know yet..

Sadly whats82, you are missing 1 more beast to go to tier 4 to get that AD Bronzeback.
You'd have to give up, say, the Glad for 2 four points beasts :-/
