Hi folks
How do you see skorne against high def unit/models with a parallel before-after domination, personally i think skorne had a rough time before domination, but im a new player and i might be wrong.

Pre-Domination times were Abit harder I must say.
Orin midwinter was a must for chain lightening my own stuff
to get kills, slamming models through them.
eMakedas feat helped to clear all but ultra high def eg -
Iron fleshed Kayazy, winterguard.
Before eHexy came along personally I used to slam heavy beast through
the unit with the brutes animus on it.
eMakeda and nihilators and feat now and again I hoped for good rolls.
The thing with kayazy is you have to force them to use there mini feat
I have road blocked them with nihilators and make sure you don't leave
gaps big enough for them to get through as the will walk through with parry.
Max units are Abit harder as they can spread out more.
Get the underboss we have the tools for the job to do it to.
Exotoller soulward and shaman ghost eye shot, I take both in all my lists
usually.
Now its just extoller soulward make eHexy have eyeless sight and a arc
Noded ashes to ashes or 2 and there gone.
A mate of mine used to have good luck vs my Kayazy with Bloodrunners on Makeda's Feat turn.
With a Master Tormenter in sight, MAT 9 +3D6 actually has a 50/50 chance of hitting DEF 19 Kayazy, which is more than many units can hope for. And with Shadow Play, it's actually quite likely that they can get a Bloodrunner into the Underboss to shank him. Definitely worth losing the Master Tormenter if you can take out the Underboss before he's mini-feat'ed.
How I usually deal with crazy DEF lists: Include as many things as is reasonable that don't require a roll to hit to do damage.
1.) Orin Midwinter. Just run something up with a low DEF and a high ARM (and a large bases size, to eek out a little extra distance), and have Old Man Midwinter zap him in the back. Chances are, you won't do any damage to your own guy, but the electro leap will fry winterguardsmen and kayazi easily.
2.) AOEs. A pair of Skornapults will actually do a good bit a damage with just a little bit of luck. Just be sure to aim for someone in the middle of the formation so that the deviation will almost always catch somebody.
3.) Kovaas (in a Zaal list). One of the best deterrents against an assassination attempt by Kayazi is to have Zaal sit inside the Kovass's cloud. Yeah, he may take a point of damage, but who cares? The Kayazi can come knocking, but they can't come in.![]()
pHexy was able to do some anti-high def with early Obliterations (which falls under the AOE way of dealing with them).
Now there is eHexy who can do some work vs. high def, but IMO I wouldn't go and say he's a direct counter. But, he does have black spot and Ashes to Ashes for Kayazy work.
Otherwise, collateral damage, aoe's, Void Spirit killing cloud, stuff that causes terror, and auto hit stuff work well enough.
Catapults, and Cannoneer if you play them. Shooting them is the other best option for dealing with their def, if you get around the stealth(within 5 or eyeless sight) as it will drop the KA down 2 defense. I spread my KA out a ton when I play them so that I end up waving them, but I see tons of players bunching them and the WGI up all the time.
As someone else mentioned void spirits are always great.
Now that we have hexeris though, I have been running/charging/trampling/slamming! my beasts all over the place, and shooting them in the back with ashes to ashes. A pow 10 isn't going to hurt them, and its all but a guaranteed hit in the back.
