Default 50p Old Witch with a Death Starfish...

Having failed horribly vs a Durgen list featuring primed Risen, Nyss Hunters and Gun Mages all set to murder infantry I realize the Old Witch needs a death star. At least she needs a big unit that can both shoot and fight things to death. People usually like to run her with Nyss Hunters but mine are still in a box. As I'm also loath to invest more in my Khador, and I've already got a load of pirates, I'm thinking of trying the following as one of my lists in a tournament after christmas:

    Old Witch +3
    +Scrapjack -0
    +Black Ivan -10
    +Decimator -9

    Great Bears of Gallowswood -5
    Greylord Ternion -4
    Widowmakers -4
    Koldun Lord -2
    Sea Dog Crew (full) -8
    +Mr Walls (UA) -2
    +Sea Dog Rifleman (WA) -1
    Bosun Grogspar -2
    Doc Killingsworth -2
    First Mate Hawk -2
    Lord Rckbottom -2

It is obviously geared towards killing infantry but I'm thinking that the other list will feature Butcher and a large contingent of jacks...

Any pitfalls I should be aware of?

Ten of your points are invested in solos. I dabble in Mercs but leave pirates alone so I'm not ideally placed to judge, but that seems a rather big percentage of your list (at least they're all 2-point models, not 3 or even 4). And while Walls is worth it, that's another 2-pointer right there. And the rest of the infantry is also fairly pricy on average, at least for the body count. The Old Witch is about denial, not about going toe-to-toe.

Also, while I love the Decimator model and feel that its bad rep isn't altogether deserved, it is an enormous focus hog for a caster that can only improve attack or damage rolls by boosting them. Black Ivan is a pretty good choice, but I'd take something less demanding for the second jack.

Thanks for the input. As for Behemoth, I don't have it.

Regarding the amount of solos the sea dogs want lord rockbottom since he makes them good. Mr Walls is there for AD. Hawk makes them fearless and the doc makes them pass tough on 4+. I'm actually thinking of dropping the doctor since my pirates usually die to being set on fire and by that time the tough from rockbottom has worn off. But so far he stays in. What I've done is downgrade the decimator to a Kodiak for open hand shenanigans and added to the sea dogs. Battle mechanics were added instead of the Bosun since he isn't painted.

    Old Witch +3
    +Scrapjack -0
    +Black Ivan -10
    +Kodiak -8

    Battle Mechanics (min.) -2
    Great Bears of Gallowswood -5
    Greylord Ternion -4
    Widowmakers -4
    Sea Dog Crew (full) -8
    +Mr Walls (UA) -2
    +Sea Dog Rifleman (WA) x2 -2
    Koldun Lord -2
    Doc Killingsworth -2
    First Mate Hawk -2
    Lord Rockbottom -2

As I won't have any time to try it out before the tournament you'll just have to wish me luck
