For christmas I received two awesome gifts: and Paasch beginner air brush and the D500SR Air Compressor. I'm excited to learn how to use these to base color minis.
Now this thing has an auto shut off when it gets too hot. I've been using it for about 15 minutes and it shuts down to cool off. I look up and see a faint line of smoke rising from the back! I freak out and unplug the thing from the wall, and I notice what looks like a glowing filament inside of the compressor where I think the smoke is coming from. It's now sitting across from me on my desk, starring at me ominously, ready to explode any second.
At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot.... is this a "holy crap that's bad!" moment, and I need to return it ASAP? Or is this somewhat OK, like when you use an electric stove or a new frying pan or toaster or something for the first time, and it smokes a little and smells a little bit bad, but it's a normal part of getting broken in?
