Default Journeyman league: Cryx and purple chickens.

So I just started a slow grow Journeyman league at my flgs and decided I wanted to try out Cryx. I also knew that I didnt want the usual black/grey/green scheme from the book. So, purple and blue. Not quit finished yet, still have to add in highlights and paint the heads, but so far I really like how they're coming out.

    A little better image.

Very nice contrast, Are you considering a blue glow effect? and is that a bronze or gold metal?(hard to tell from the pictures)

I would like to do a glow effect, but Im rather new to all this and dont really know how to yet. As for the metal its a tin bitz base coat with a straight Dwarven Bronze coat over that but done very lightly as to allow the dark of the tin bitz to show through, followed up with a light coat of badab black.

Those are pretty damn sharp. I like blinged out chickens. I just stripped my deathrippers and was considering a set up like you have there but with red and a day-glo orange necrotite glow.

Sounds pretty slick. You could do a lava base with that scheme and have a really hellish like army.

Finished with the highlighting and the head. All thats left to do is base it and its done.

Pretty sharp. Those should pop on the table. Only thing I would suggest is a darker tone on the skull. It might just be your phone, but the skull looks unfinished.

A wash and a little edge highlighting would really polish them off nicely

Yeah, I could use to hit the head with a little dev mud to make the recesses stand out more.

While I am aware of it, I'm not really familiar with edge highlighting. This was really an practice run in wet blending and what I wanted to do with the rest of my mini's. I'll look into the edge highlighting and see if I can add it later down the line.

Oh yeah! Thanks for the comments as well! Its really nice to see that others like my work and really helps to motivate me to do more and to expand into new techniques.
