Gday guys I have a highlander tourny coming up at 25pts and I am looking at these 2 lists C&C if you will good sirs

First one is pretty shooting heavy and I am not sure about it..

This one drops Roci and Rein to get rover and another solo in..

Now I need a 2 point solo so I was thinking gorman but I dont really like to model so other then ragman(again dont like the model) I was thinking mabye get Taryn in there as she is a all rounder and fits the theme.

So what do you all think, this will be my first time playing mercs but I love the whole Llaelese theme and I have a spare gun mage unit and UA from my cygnar lot to boot!

I think the first list much-mucg better, than the second. You've got a vanguard (w shield guard) and a rocinante (w defensive strike AND guard dog), so your caster have a realy potent protect against ranged AND meele attacks, and this "high-security" w Ashlynn's talents, like the riposte and Quick draw, will be one of the best protecting system in the Mercenaries fraction (yea, I know, mercs are NOT a fracs...whatever :P ).

Plus, the rocinante have got more useable meele abilities, like the rover.
Anything want to move closer, the ATGMs w the Mule will be destroy, or at least, injured them enough, to charge them w the vanguard, the rocinante, or Ashlynn herself.

My 25 pts list is totally the same, at 35 pts, the plus is a pEiryss, a Taryn and a min unit HHFG

Would the first list do ok vs Winterguard death star etc and sniped MHSF as I was thinking with the 2nd list to bring Harlan Versh as multi fire and Purgation seem like a good answer to it with the gunmages and mule for back up.
What do you guys do vs those sort of units?

If you want to play the second list, in my opinion, you have to change the Rover to a Mangler The mangler got tresher and Reach!
Harlan is a good option for this list, I can only recommend him!

But, you are right, Taryn is a very useable solo for each list. Shoot the tarpit w the shadow fire, and then shoot the mule 8)

Yeah I was just curious how you Mercs deal with those hard to remove units, I would just aoe them to death with my cygnar but ash is a different ball game

Play the list with Rocinante. He's really made for Ashlynn. With Quicken up on her and guard dog, she's 19 defense versus ranged, melee, and magic. That's every kind of attack with a roll (unless you count skill checks)! Couple that with Riposte and she's even more of a beast in melee. I really think you'd be happier with Reinholdt and Rocinante rather than the Mangler and Harlan. With Virtuoso, Reinholdt gives Ashlynn another attack on the assassination run. Well, all that's just my opinion and I hope whatever you choose works out for you.
