I've recently decided to return to WM after a year or two break, but decided to "restart" buy selling off my Khador and Mercs, and to start playing Cygnar. In hindsight, part of my issue with Khador in the past was that I was trying to run them AS Cygnar instead of just switching to the "blue team". So, in other words, I've been out of loop... not a complete WM noob, but by all standards a noob none-the-less!
Anyway, I was lucky enough to land a copy of the armybook early, and have been just itching to start buying models. However, I would like to get some input from the vets on their thoughts of the tier lists... mainly for eCain and Kara.
I'm looking to mainly play at my LGS in WM open play nights, future leagues, and/or small/local 10-12 man tournaments... just to give you a sense of how competitive I'm looking to be. It doesn't need to be an "instant win", but I don't want a pushover list either. So, just how competitive (in your opinion) could eCain and Kara's tier lists be? Initially, with eCain I'm thinking of sticking in the tier 2/3 range as I'm unsure about including lancers, but with Kara I'm thinking I could go for a full tier 4. Part of the appeal of the tier lists for these two is that it gives me, a new MKII/Cygnar player, makes the task of list building a bit easier in its restrictions and may force to make certain units work where in a different list I may have just dismissed them all together.
To sum it all up, (since I feel like I'm ranting) do you feel a tier list for either of these two can built into at least a semi-competitive force, or is too much getting sacrificed by their restrictions? I'm open for a challenge, and a steep learning curve, but at the same time I don't want to "tie my own hands" so to speak and get pounded every single game by even new players like myself.
Thanks.
