Default Rorsch and Brine 13" threat?

I have played Rorsch and Brine a few times in my Khador and Lord Carver Minion lists. I am not sure though that I have wrapped my head around how to move the models to maximize threat range.

What is the order of activation and actions that allow for Rorsch and Brine to maximize their threat range?

First Rorsh and his Special Action Diversion Tactic, if Brine is within the 4"AoE, he can move his SPD as well (you don't need any enemies for that, that's the trick!).

Then charge/trample/slam with Brine, so it's (without any buffs and debuffs): 5+8 = 13

To get some more room you can push Brine with another Warbeast, if you play them as minions/mercs you might have something which gives even more SPD/move and so on.

The 13" though will depend on where Brine was when he charged I assume? If for example Brine is inline with Rorsch he can only advance up to ~7.9" due to the 6" CTRL and Rorsch's base size right?

well when you use diversionary tactic Rorsh and brine both get a full advance.

Rorsh is speed 6 while brine is 5

That extra inch keeps brine in rorsh's control quite easily.

Plus, even if he's just outside of the control range he can walk back in before leaching. I love that pair.

Slightly off topic. Dont forget that Rorsh's Gun/Aoe combo is NOT CUMBERSOME

    dont forget to use both.

He could, but he should not do it. Brine can't be forced, and what is even worse, between R&B's end of activation and the next possible "Souie" happens a complete opponent's turn, which Rorsh does not want to spend outside of range for damage transfers.

But you can't combine diversionary tactic with attacks (you can't buy gun shots), since the tactic is a special action, which means you don't make a combat action in which you would be able to buy additional attacks.

I ment for his Normal AoE listed under his weapons. Its just something thats missed so often i felt the need to add it to the convo.

I got to shoot with Rorsh this Monday... first time that ever happened. In almost every game I end up doing diversionary tactic, and the following round someone kills Rorsh

Rorsch is awesome, and always underestimated by opponents. I've had quite a few games where Brine dies early and Rorsch goes on to kill a ton of stuff by himself. A boostable direct shot and a boostable AOE together can rack up a lot of infantry kills. Also, he's got enough health that he can cut himself for Fury for at least a turn or two if he needs to.

Ideally he'll be Dug In and just shooting at anything nearby, which makes him hard to take out at range. I won't normally start doing this until Brine is dead though so as not to lose them both at once.

I enjoy the ability they have to give pigs a real threat range. And the gun's ability to lay down 2 shots with grenade throw has stunned more than a few people not expecting the sudden fusillade.

Clearly I have underutilized the pair. Thanks for the tips!

The big threat range of the pair teams up very well with a Road Hog to. Get Brine in their grill and slam. Follow up with a Road Hogs 10" spray and Targ.
Working on being able to field every merc teir 4 list.
