Outside of Constance, who has Elite Cadre [Precursors], and Fiona, who has her equivalent Cultist rule, are there any merc casters or models with Elite Cadre? Oh, Damiano, right? Still, that's only three out of eleven casters, and no Rhulic EC yet. Cygnar has four casters and one solo (counting Constance again) out of thirteen casters, so another Merc 'caster wouldn't be too many. And it'd be great to get something like Reform on Forgeguard, or Point Blank or Gunfighter on High Shields.

As in the other thread it was confirmed by a PPS that there is no merc. battle engine and the Generals name is Ossrum.

Thoughts about the 'General' part...

1. Does 'General' Ossrum represent Rhul moving towards war?

2. Could 'General' Ossrum potentially take the Mercenary Colossal, and/or other non-Rhulic Mercenary jacks? That would be an incredible opportunity for Searforge.


I'm not going to touch the 'terrorist name' thing. Try meeting some people from outside your gene pool. Rhuls against Racism etc.

I could go with this of the title General isn't a Rhul based title. Anyone have any background on Rhul military titles to back up this speculation?

My personal thoughts are that the odds are:

General Ossrum taking the Colossal: Very VERY Low.

The Battle engine being Rhulic when it eventually does appear: Medium to High.

There Being at least one other Rhulic entry in the new book: High.

This 'General' thing made me think. I mean if you think about our current casters then this is something quite new.

Durgen is as far from being a general as he can be, he's just our good ol' nutter.
Gorten is more like an adventurer, even if I believe Durgen to be patriotic, I can imagine Gorten earlier to lead massive forces of Rhul.
Still, he's not a general type at all.

The message regarding Ossrum for me is that he should be capable of doing great things.
Having a massive Rhulic Battle Engine in his army? Who else if not a general should have it?
I can also think of masses of infantry. I'm sure he will have something that has good synergy with either FG and/or HSGC not to mention the stepchildren like OAC and the Artillery!
Being a general I'm not expecting him to be a front-line, or a super solo, but a support caster. Standing at the back, giving orders.
Gunbunny spam also imaginable (including a 3rd type? wink wink?).
Generals should be bottom line FOC6 but 7 is not impossible either.

Have to be honest: the name itself is very very promising.
I always enjoyed the massed feel to Rhul, marching blocks of heavily armoured and armed dwarves is just beautiful.
My sense tells me that General Ossrum will be capable of large scale and effective warfare.

Madhammer sounds Rhulicy...yet acts like a terrorist. So If Ossrum (CORRECT SPELLING) sounds like a terrorist, he'll probably be very proper and official about killing your army.

Don't get all offended! I was trying to handle the point delicately/sensitively. There's no reason to be upset. It's pretty common for names from an area to carry some stigma in another area when there's been a conflict between the two. I mean, if it was General Ossram Tin Radden you'd stop and wonder. That's all I was getting at. ^_______________^
